This 1964 gem is my favorite song from the movie. George Harrison made this Lennon composition his song. He rocked the heck out of it and sang it better than anyone ever could.
This has always been a big favorite of most Beatle fans. George does a stellar job in singing this timeless gem. Lennon's excellent sense of rhythm shines with his strumming abilities on his Ric 325. How did they manage to write such timeless classics, one after another so easily? This has always baffled most songwriters. Writing a song isn't easy. Writing a timeless classic is nearly impossible.
@terrafirma91 My former pastor in California once said that Lennon and McCartney may have been musical geniuses. That could explain why they could do what they did and make it look easy. Their songs are so simple on the surface, but at the same time they are timeless masterpieces. I think it would take a genius to create something like this.
@DONRHOLLOWAY : Can't disagree with your pastor's thoughts. Even the intros of their songs are brilliant, and fit perfectly. A person with this type of song writing ability has been Gifted, no two ways about it.
@DONRHOLLOWAY Don't want to nitpick, but George Martin was the Beatles music producer. Brian Epstien was their manager. Although you could look at it like he was their "musical manager" as he turned rough diamonds into true gems. Many regard George as the "Fifth Beatle". Without his genious, the Beatles may never have happened. His final work with the Beatles, can be heard on the Beatles Love cd. Along with his son, He pieced together a wonderful album out of existing out-takes. Rock on.
@RojotheRed Thanks for your comment. Someone else had also corrected me about Brian Epstein being the Beatles manager (instead of George Martin, as I had stated). You are right in your assertion and I stand corrected. Thanks for your input. Beatles Forever!!!
@terrafirma91 Hate to be a spoilsport, no, actually I do, but this is just to get you thinking. Firstly, a nitpick. Something is either impossible or it is not. There is no such thing as 'nearly impossible'. Secondly, if you listen, there is a cheapie in this song (and others) that makes its creation somewhat easier. You see, they got into a bind with the words and cheaped their way out of it: LET'S PRETEND WE JUST CAN'T SEE HIS FACE. huh? That Georgia's always on my ma ma ma ma ma my
was laways happy to hear George do a lead vocal on a Beatles album, he never got a lot of chances to sing lead, only the songs he wrote and contributed. Taxman, I Need You, this song, and Fool on the Hill some of my faves
@BLUESMANRONCHICAGO George is me favorite Beatle mate! Me fancies his singing and playin. Seriously, George had probably the thickest Liverpudian accent in the early years. His singing (as well as writing) improved dramatically. By '67 his vocals were nearly on par with the others (Within You Without You) and by '68-'69, he was flat-out good (The Inner Light, Long Long Long, Something, I Me Mine). Great songwriter, great Beatle, great man!
@punishedexistence ... When I was going to turn on the CD-player again, my teacher said I shouldn't because of the other teacher with us didn't like to hear to much fuzz rock. I regretted for borrowing them my iPod since I had to listen to the crappy pop "music" which I call trash, the rest of the of the day :(
I am with you nightcrawler511 what people don't understand is that the 60-70s are the best decades in music history!!!! Now it's not history it's just the past!! I want those days!!!!! Where did music go???
I am forced to listen to crappy current music at work. I get my RECOMMENDED DAILY BEATLES FIX right before I arrive at work, put in earplugs and hum Beatles tunes. My co-workers think I'm crazy....little do they know I'm just happy and like good music.
@nightcrawler511 I used to get called a puss for liking the Beatles too. My best friend used to call me a homo for liking the Beatles in the 80's when he listened to poison and shit like that...now that he's older he really feels like a jackass, something I still tell him daily. I grew up with these guys, my parents taught me well.
@punishedexistence At school every Fridays we're allowed to bring a CD with music to listen to when working. However, I bringed with me a CD with Guns N' Roses. I also brought with me my iPod touch and one of my friends had a headset and plugged it into the iPod so they could listen to their crappy autotuned pop music from these days. After a while they un-plugged the headset and turned the volume to max and shut of the CD-player (w/ GnR) saying that the "music" they were listening to was better
There is always a few nitpickers,is there not. Fresh from their Hairspliters meeting.

@DONRHOLLOWAY let us not forget the other George, who smoothed out the rough edges in the studio.

@JonBenait06 Yes, Mr. Martin certainly does deserve his share of the credit. He did a great job as the Beatles' manager.
