Very interesting video but it failed to mention its current legal status. From Wikipedia: In 1981, Israel passed the Golan Heights Law, which applied Israeli "laws, jurisdiction and administration" to the Golan Heights. Although the law in effect annexed the territory to Israel, it was not formally annexed.

I am all for peace, will NEVER agree to give the Golan to Syria for a piece of paper. The Golan is a very significant land that's part of Israel for over 45 years now. We develope much of our wines, water companies, agriculture, & cattle there, and it's a beautiful piece of land and very important for Israeli security. Syria is a totalitarian brutal dictatorship that supports terrorism. No point on talking to them. But even if they turn to be democracy - Golan will stay as part of Israel.

Israel should be happy & at peace with the land given to them in the 1948 agreement. be content with the land of Israel & remove your people & occupation from lands that are not yours. The middle east is not the land of muslims as muslims have invaded & stolen the land of both Christians & Jews. Syrians are Syrian regardless of religion. Peace would be acheivable if arrogance & greed would be put aside. Israel must return the Golan Heights to Syria if they truely want peace.

@jammum1- Israel WAS happy and content with the territories suggested in 1948, BUT Arabs weren't...and seven Arab nations opened a war against tiny Israel in an attempt to murder all Jews and destroy Israel. They failed -Israel won. Then, another attempt was made by them in 1967, and as a result of this war Israel took some lands, including the Golan. Golan is now 100% Israeli territory, for more than 44 years, and it wont change.

If Syria truelly wants peace, it can have it without the Golan.

Golan heights is a very beautiful Israeli territory, thats been part of Israel for almost 45 years now. Israel celebrates now 30 years for the annexation of the Golan!

There is a consensus in Israel by vast majority of Israelis (left to right) who all agree that the Golan is extremely significant in all aspects - tourism, water, winery, agriculture, production, security - and will stay part of Israel also in peace times. It was part of Syria for only 20 years, and taken b-c of their agression.
