  • I LOVE "Silas", the Snail. I used to trip out on him all the time. To this day, I still quote him without realizing it. He always said,"Don'tcha know?" over and over.

  • oh hell! i remember this!

  • Craig & Olga say "THANK YOU for your kind words. That's what we were working for when we were doing the show. Please visit our blog (flexitoon.blogspot.com) and when you scroll around you'll discover lots of Pinwheel memories - - including behind-the-scenes shots as well. Thanx again!"

  • helixrose44, I passed your comment onto Craig & Olga (who designed, created, and performed the puppets. Craig's response: "Very perceptive :0)"

  • @theballoonguy32 I'm walking on air! :D Pinwheel is literally the first show I ever remember watching, it's magical to reach out and somehow touch the people who worked on it!

  • Very skillful people. :) I was born in '83 and I was too young to know it, but these days I see the influence of artistic styles like Godspell and that era really clearly. :)

  • My older sister and I used to enjoyed the show

  • man this show brings back a whole lot of memories. i wished they brought this show back so i can watch with my daughter.

  • man this show brings back a whole lot of memories. i wished they brought this show back so i can watch with my daughter.

  • I used to love this when I was a kid. Ranked right up there with Sesame Street.

  • OMG!!!!!! I can't believe this is on here. TY for posting.

  • Does anyone remember a religious-themed children's show with this little orange puppet boy? I swear his name is Gilbert, but I can't find any videos of him. Do I have the name wrong?

  • @KurtKokaine1 Gerbert is the name.

  • @ElectricPenguin77 ......I disagree.....without "You Can't Do That On Television", none of this would have existed...after all, YCDTOT is what started it all.

  • omg....this was soooooooo back in the days.....saturday mornings in trinidad and tobago.....in the early 80"s....memories boyyyyyyyyy...lmao....

  • That NoNo bird was hilarious

  • I saw Pinwheel when I was little.

  • Oh, Plus and Minus, Coco, Paddington bear skits... A simpler, happier time for me and lots of other formor kids.

  • I loved this show. I'm sitting at my desk but my mind is back in my childhood house watching Pinwheel on TV

  • Thank you for creating pin wheel, brings back memories I had enjoyed that show when I was little. Brings back memories. God bless !

  • Thank you Craig and Olga for all the amazing memories I never knew you contributed to my childhood until now.

  • yEARS AGO MY FRIEND'S SISTER WORKED WITH nICK; SAID HER BOSS HAD ORIGIONAL pLUS AND mINUS IN HIS OFFICE

  • i only remember the pinwheel box spinning open and the puppet screaming gimme gimme gimme. who was that puppet?

  • Yes indeed, I will always fondly remember Pinwheel. I actually more yearn for that Pinwheel Saga that took place in the mid-70s with quite a few characters different from the 80s Pinwheel, the latter of which is all I ever find. Anyone ever remember the artist Francie, and the Wonkles Tika, Gorcle and Woofle. Someone please tell me I'm not the only one who remembers, and that not all hope is lost to find any archival remains of them.

  • Don't forget Belle and Sebastian! You start mentioning how long its been since you heard this, and at 29 I'm starting to feel old! 80's were classic

  • I want more pinwheel!

  • Did that Snail ever make it to the Snail convention?

  • Haven't heard that since 81, wow.......

  • Brings back good childhood memories !! :)

  • We are a manchurian candidate generation. I have not heard this in over 20 years! My mouth began uttering the words almost on it's own word for word. What else is in our heads from that time that have made us who we are today. Many memories sights and sounds flooded me instantly. I'm still taking all of this in and I don't like how sudden it happened.

  • I haven't heard that since the early 80's thanks for posting.

  • This song has been in my head for years. Looked at this video and had flash backs of those puppets. Thanks for posting.

  • Pinwheel Fanclub on Facebook. Check it out. Lots of things being planned for that site. Just look up "Pinwheel Fanclub" on Facebook. Enjoy an become a fan and share your love for this classic Nick show! :)

  • I remember CoCo the Mime used to freak me out a little as a kid. Before I knew what mimes were, I wondered why the white faced woman never talked and why she was smiling so big all the time. Heh.

  • i have such a big smile on my face right now.. great memories..

  • WOW! i remember that from 1981 and it came out in 1979. Man, i have not heard that song in years nor seen the episode in over 29yrs. they stoped playing the tv show in the late 80's or somethin like that. it brings back the 80's, glad to see it for the memories.

  • I remember the talking veggies (especially the bright red tomato). Good times

  • OMG I have not heard that since I was in Kindergarten 87

  • wow the yellow girl scares me i usually was born in 1992 so i liked all nick shows from 1999 to 2004 but 06 and up was bad

  • I remember it too...also an '84 baby. I used to watch it with my big sister. It's funny how some people don't remember it, they think I'm crazy!

  • Yes and the mime wore a green bowler hat and a stripped shirt. He kind of reminded me of Cousin Larry from Perfect Strangers.

  • lol I didn't think anyone would remember this show, My husband doesn't remember it and he was born in 72 I was born in 80. I loved this show, Nice to see others did as well. I wish we could get all these old kid shows on DVDs so we could show our kids, or neices and nephews because I cannot have kids.

  • Pinwheel dvd set being sold on ebay. Just look up " Classic Nick Pinwheel dvd 2 disc set".

  • and I as well!

  • Me too!!! I'd buy them all!!! OMG I grew on this stuff... These were the good ole days!

  • I'm 34 years old

  • I can't even believe that I stumbled across this. It brings back so many awesome, yet painful memories.

What has become of our youth today? Why are puppets so lame now?

  • I'm 38 and loooooved this show!!!! No one ever seems to know what I'm talking about when I mention it though

  • I loved this show so much. I was looking for it on dvd, does anyone know if they sell it on dvd?

  • I am 27 and this was my fave as a child, I wish Nickelodeon would bring it back, even if it was on late at night, so my kids could watch it too =)

  • my favorites were plus and minus

  • I used to watch this show when I was like 7 years old I loved it!

  • OMG I loved this show, when I mention it to people they dont remember it.

  • i defently remember it, and posted on other video and remarked on somthing, dont remember if name is right but dough and his thinking tree, miss this show

  • Funny, when I mention this show no one remembers it either. It did come on during school hours for a while. I only know about it because i played hooky pretty consistently:|

  • I LOVED LU-LU!!!!!!!

  • Oh man, I have been looking for this 4 so long, everyone I ask claims they don't remember this show, I thought I was the only one...good times...

  • I COuld noty even begin to say enough about this music.. WORTHY IS THE LAMB, Praise God!

  • I'm gonna cry!!! I've missed u Pinwheel!! aww lol

  • Dear lord did I love that show. Every day. The snail puppet remains the most eduring. But what i will also never forget were the two guys who would always be waiting to fly a rocket into space. But they would always talk too long and miss the take off. Classic. Oh the memories. I miss being a kid.

  • plus and minus were the little puppet brothers. and me and my brother used to watch this show all the time when we were little and it would be on nick in like 86 or 87. im going to have to find some of these episodes and some small wonder episodes

  • THEY WERE PUPPETS?!?!?

Nooooooooooooo..........all I believed in since childhood is ruined!!!

  • Hahaha I LOVED THIS SHOW! i was 5 when i watched this. My favorite part was when Linus (or plus) would try to take the Rocket ship but it always left w/out him lol

  • I AGREE with some of you saying this is a tottal flashback!.

I gre up watchen this when I was verry little I remember watchen this when I was 5 years Old.

I forget the name of that snail But I hated him cause he always freaked me out and I would get nervous watchen him on the show LOL!

Thanks for Putting this on YouTube.

  • His name was Silas!

  • I was freaked out by both Coco and the Admiral Bird. Still loved the show though.

  • coco freaked me out

  • Yeah, same with me. I am still freaked out by her!

  • OMG, I can't believe I found this! Lol, ty.

  • WOW TOTAL FLASH BACK TO CHILDHOOD!!!! Kids today have it so lucky when they are our ages, they will still have DVD versions of their fav. cartoons, So many of our Favs were lost when the shows went off the air. I don't envy the shows kids watch but I do envy the fact that they will have them forever.

  • I Agree Jeffdc I tottaly agree with you on that.

as I stated I seen this Years Back on the Old school Nickelodeon when I was only 5 or 6 years Old I Remember some of the other shows that used to be on the air Like the Adventures of the Little Prince,DynoDog (the Old Dynodog) and few others I cant realy remember on top of my head.

  • Is the show where when the snail went inside his shell it was like a little house inside?

  • I remember watching this show. Thanks for posting.

  • I LOVED this show, Beats today's kids' shows ANYDAY!!

I wish Pinwheel had done a crossover with Today's Special.

  • I have MANY episodes. ASK ME about them. = )

  • alright man...i'm askin...cause ever since i saw this it brought back a TON of memories...and i keep lookin for this one thing that i can't find and noone seems to remember...so i'm trying to find it just to prove it exists..hehe. anyways i'm looking for the 'hey fishees' song that Plus and Minus sang..do you have it??? or anyone else for that matter? i just wanna see it...its been a long time...

  • Hey fishies was a song that Ernie on sesame street sang.

  • i could have sworn it was plus and minus that sung that song

  • I am pretty sure it was from sesame street. But I could be wrong. I tried finding it on youtube with little luck. I may poke around the net latter to see if I can find it.

  • Did Coco EVER talk?

  • No Coco Never talk She is mime.I remember watch pinwheel at grandmother house when I was little kid.I used love pinwheel when I was little kid.I used be fan of Coco mime when I was little kid.Pinwheel bring back So memories when I was little Kid.

  • What was the name of the actress who played Coco?

  • Linda Bove play Coco Mime on Pinwheel.Linda Bove been Def sent birth .Linda Bove is 62 years old.Linda Bove won award and memeber of National Theatre of Def in 1963.Linda Bove also play on seasame street as Linda the Librarian from 1971 to 2003.

  • How do you know that Linda Bove is the one who played CoCo? I've looked everywhere and haven't ever found anything that ever listed CoCo's real name.

  • I just found out who play Coco the mime on pinwheel on it's C.C. Loveheart. I was wrong about Linda Bove be Coco being the mime on pinwheel.

  • How did you find this out? From what website? I'm not saying that you're wrong I'm just wondering b/c I've looked EVERYWHERE to try and find that and I couldn't so that's awesome, thank you for letting me know. :)

  • Wonderful! Now if only I could remember what show was it with the mannequin that would come to life at night after the store closed. And if only I could find just ONE full episode of Pinwheel!

  • The problem with finding a full episode of Pinwheel is that the cartoon vignettes that were shown throughout the show were from all over the world, thus not property of Nickelodeon. At best you might be able to find the live action shots, but the cartoons like Alfie Atkins, Bagpuss, Chapi Chapo, Emily, Hattytown Tales will be very difficult to find.

  • FINALLY! I can sleep in peace now. The only thing I could remember about this show was Silas the Snail. Only before I saw this clip, the only memory I had was very faint, and I thought the snail was a caterpillar. I remembered he wore a hat with his bug antenna's sticking out, and he had somewhat of a clown face and he sat in front of a brick wall. That's ALL I remembered. I knew nothing else of the show. Thanks for posting!

  • Ask me about the Pinwheel episodes I have.

  • *sniff* Memories....

  • I LOOOOVE this show!!! I wish they still played shows like this instead of the garbage they have now-a-days...

  • I loved the snail on the show, I think his name was Silas. I always wondered WTF when he went inside his shell, and he was talking about going upstairs to go cook dinner, or watch tv...etc

  • Anyone else remember that little bug girl counting "one one one one..."? Or did I make that up?

  • no, I remember it too. it would be every time they would play hide and seek. they finally made her count for real since they thought that kids would get the wrong idea.

  • Yep - Herbert and Lulu

  • Gotcha Last!

  • I was 10 years old when this came out (I'm old as dirt). Plus and Minus were cool. Ebineezer sneeze was cool too. After this "Today's Special" came on, then Dangermouse, then You can't do that on television, then something called "the tommorrow people(fake dr. who)".

  • Oh yes :) I use to thrive on Todays Special. Hocus Pocus Alama gocus!

  • If not for Pinwheel, Nickelodeon wouldn't have taken off. I believe it was it's first show to air, as "competition" to PBS Sesame Street. I hate Nick now... Spongebob Squarepants makes me want to claw my eyes out; I cannot stand his laugh.

  • back when NICKELODEON was simpler, now it's so messed UP, congested, over done!

  • *claps* so true! and they had all that good anime on there too.

  • LOL! Freakin awesome! I remember this when I was little. 500+ stars!

  • i have finally found out y i am me i loved this show as a kid and i just remembered it tonight i am almost in tears i know now why my life has been so sick thanks pinwheel and nick

  • this was awesome to see! I was just telling my daughter (15) about this show! Thanks for the memories!

  • Oh that AdmiralBird used to keep me up at night. . I was deathly afraid of him!

  • WAY BETTER THAN YO GABBA GABBA

  • Thank you. I have not seen this show in twenty years and was just singing this song the other day. My husband and son think Im crazy when I do, but, now I can show them the actual song!

  • Oh I loved that thank you. I use to what Pinwheel in the mid 1980s and this just brought back so many WONDERFUL memories.

  • to own a copy pinwheel go to ebay there is one on sale now

  • yeah but they only take paypal/credit cards :(

I miss this show like crazy

  • OMG I miss that show so much! Thanks for letting me stroll down memory lane

  • ahhhh the good old days of nickelodeon. they don't make shows like this anymore.

  • I've talked about this show with other people my age and nobody remembers it--glad there's finally someway to ignite their memories on this show. It was one of my favorites when I was little.

  • mine too, it gives me a weird feeling to even watch this, but it's great...

  • I agree, noone ever knows about pinwheel! I feel so bad for those souls who never got to experience the greatness of the creative and innovative pinwheel show. :-) I miss that plus and minus, a lot!

  • Love this show. The best era to watch Nickelodeon

  • Amazing that memories can lie dormant for so long and still be brought back

  • Gotcha last

  • Molly the Mole
