My friend and I used to watch this all the time at her house when we were kids- back in the '80s! This is a trip down memory lane! Thank you to Craig and Olga!
I LOVE "Silas", the Snail. I used to trip out on him all the time. To this day, I still quote him without realizing it. He always said,"Don'tcha know?" over and over.
Craig & Olga say "THANK YOU for your kind words. That's what we were working for when we were doing the show. Please visit our blog (flexitoon.blogspot.com) and when you scroll around you'll discover lots of Pinwheel memories - - including behind-the-scenes shots as well. Thanx again!"
@theballoonguy32 I'm walking on air! :D Pinwheel is literally the first show I ever remember watching, it's magical to reach out and somehow touch the people who worked on it!
Very skillful people. :) I was born in '83 and I was too young to know it, but these days I see the influence of artistic styles like Godspell and that era really clearly. :)
Does anyone remember a religious-themed children's show with this little orange puppet boy? I swear his name is Gilbert, but I can't find any videos of him. Do I have the name wrong?
@ElectricPenguin77 ......I disagree.....without "You Can't Do That On Television", none of this would have existed...after all, YCDTOT is what started it all.
Yes indeed, I will always fondly remember Pinwheel. I actually more yearn for that Pinwheel Saga that took place in the mid-70s with quite a few characters different from the 80s Pinwheel, the latter of which is all I ever find. Anyone ever remember the artist Francie, and the Wonkles Tika, Gorcle and Woofle. Someone please tell me I'm not the only one who remembers, and that not all hope is lost to find any archival remains of them.
We are a manchurian candidate generation. I have not heard this in over 20 years! My mouth began uttering the words almost on it's own word for word. What else is in our heads from that time that have made us who we are today. Many memories sights and sounds flooded me instantly. I'm still taking all of this in and I don't like how sudden it happened.

Pinwheel, Todays Special, Dusty's Treehouse, Standby, Lights, Camera,Action, YCDTOT, Going Great, Dangermouse, Bananaman, Star Trek, and Nick Rocks. I don't know what happened, but man Nickelodeon has fallen hard.
@marioTmaggot totally agree with you! Its not Nick anymore. It's more like "Sh*telodeon" The 80's and 90's Nick was the best of them all. Hey Nick bring back quality Nick shows..or at least put Pinwheel on dvd ALREADY! geeesss!
Thank you for posting this!! I remember I loved this show when I was a really little kid, but I couldn't remember what the show was about, I could only remember the theme song.
I remember CoCo the Mime used to freak me out a little as a kid. Before I knew what mimes were, I wondered why the white faced woman never talked and why she was smiling so big all the time. Heh.
WOW! i remember that from 1981 and it came out in 1979. Man, i have not heard that song in years nor seen the episode in over 29yrs. they stoped playing the tv show in the late 80's or somethin like that. it brings back the 80's, glad to see it for the memories.
I am currently selling Pinwheel dvd's on Ebay. Take a look if your interested. Just look up "Pinwheel" under dvd and movies. Thank you and Happy memories!
lol I didn't think anyone would remember this show, My husband doesn't remember it and he was born in 72 I was born in 80. I loved this show, Nice to see others did as well. I wish we could get all these old kid shows on DVDs so we could show our kids, or neices and nephews because I cannot have kids.
omg! I loved this!!! My mom used to tape these for me to watch (which I did, over and over. lol.) No one seemed to remember this show but me for some reason. I'm so glad you posted this! nick is the 80s was awesome. I was really young back then, I'm 23 now.
I used to watch this twice a day... I think there were back to back episodes on. Remember when the Sylas the snail left a year in advance to get to the snail party? No wonder we're all so brilliant now.
Hey Viacom!.... If your reading this, bring back Pinwheel. I know the ratings lately aren't good "I have read". So at least bring Pinwheel out on dvd. You guys would make millions. I'd buy some. COME ON VIACOM! I know your a money hungry company. Gives us the bait..we'll bite.. :)
dude i rember this im 31 and i live in louisiana and my friends look at me that way to when i talk about alot of oldschool stuff like this like the 7 citys of gold or unico nick ante what it use to be disney is the sam way man
I'm 27, from Florida, and loved this show! Maybe you DO have an extra head...Just kidding!! People just don't remember the good stuff. I agree with Utubing74, they should bring it out on DVD.
i defently remember it, and posted on other video and remarked on somthing, dont remember if name is right but dough and his thinking tree, miss this show
Funny, when I mention this show no one remembers it either. It did come on during school hours for a while. I only know about it because i played hooky pretty consistently:|
Dear lord did I love that show. Every day. The snail puppet remains the most eduring. But what i will also never forget were the two guys who would always be waiting to fly a rocket into space. But they would always talk too long and miss the take off. Classic. Oh the memories. I miss being a kid.
plus and minus were the little puppet brothers. and me and my brother used to watch this show all the time when we were little and it would be on nick in like 86 or 87. im going to have to find some of these episodes and some small wonder episodes
Hahaha I LOVED THIS SHOW! i was 5 when i watched this. My favorite part was when Linus (or plus) would try to take the Rocket ship but it always left w/out him lol
WOW TOTAL FLASH BACK TO CHILDHOOD!!!! Kids today have it so lucky when they are our ages, they will still have DVD versions of their fav. cartoons, So many of our Favs were lost when the shows went off the air. I don't envy the shows kids watch but I do envy the fact that they will have them forever.
as I stated I seen this Years Back on the Old school Nickelodeon when I was only 5 or 6 years Old I Remember some of the other shows that used to be on the air Like the Adventures of the Little Prince,DynoDog (the Old Dynodog) and few others I cant realy remember on top of my head.
alright man...i'm askin...cause ever since i saw this it brought back a TON of memories...and i keep lookin for this one thing that i can't find and noone seems to remember...so i'm trying to find it just to prove it exists..hehe. anyways i'm looking for the 'hey fishees' song that Plus and Minus sang..do you have it??? or anyone else for that matter? i just wanna see it...its been a long time...
I am pretty sure it was from sesame street. But I could be wrong. I tried finding it on youtube with little luck. I may poke around the net latter to see if I can find it.
No Coco Never talk She is mime.I remember watch pinwheel at grandmother house when I was little kid.I used love pinwheel when I was little kid.I used be fan of Coco mime when I was little kid.Pinwheel bring back So memories when I was little Kid.
Linda Bove play Coco Mime on Pinwheel.Linda Bove been Def sent birth .Linda Bove is 62 years old.Linda Bove won award and memeber of National Theatre of Def in 1963.Linda Bove also play on seasame street as Linda the Librarian from 1971 to 2003.
How did you find this out? From what website? I'm not saying that you're wrong I'm just wondering b/c I've looked EVERYWHERE to try and find that and I couldn't so that's awesome, thank you for letting me know. :)
Wonderful! Now if only I could remember what show was it with the mannequin that would come to life at night after the store closed. And if only I could find just ONE full episode of Pinwheel!
The problem with finding a full episode of Pinwheel is that the cartoon vignettes that were shown throughout the show were from all over the world, thus not property of Nickelodeon. At best you might be able to find the live action shots, but the cartoons like Alfie Atkins, Bagpuss, Chapi Chapo, Emily, Hattytown Tales will be very difficult to find.
FINALLY! I can sleep in peace now. The only thing I could remember about this show was Silas the Snail. Only before I saw this clip, the only memory I had was very faint, and I thought the snail was a caterpillar. I remembered he wore a hat with his bug antenna's sticking out, and he had somewhat of a clown face and he sat in front of a brick wall. That's ALL I remembered. I knew nothing else of the show. Thanks for posting!
I loved the snail on the show, I think his name was Silas. I always wondered WTF when he went inside his shell, and he was talking about going upstairs to go cook dinner, or watch tv...etc
no, I remember it too. it would be every time they would play hide and seek. they finally made her count for real since they thought that kids would get the wrong idea.
I was 10 years old when this came out (I'm old as dirt). Plus and Minus were cool. Ebineezer sneeze was cool too. After this "Today's Special" came on, then Dangermouse, then You can't do that on television, then something called "the tommorrow people(fake dr. who)".
If not for Pinwheel, Nickelodeon wouldn't have taken off. I believe it was it's first show to air, as "competition" to PBS Sesame Street. I hate Nick now... Spongebob Squarepants makes me want to claw my eyes out; I cannot stand his laugh.
i have finally found out y i am me i loved this show as a kid and i just remembered it tonight i am almost in tears i know now why my life has been so sick thanks pinwheel and nick
Thank you. I have not seen this show in twenty years and was just singing this song the other day. My husband and son think Im crazy when I do, but, now I can show them the actual song!
I've talked about this show with other people my age and nobody remembers it--glad there's finally someway to ignite their memories on this show. It was one of my favorites when I was little.
I agree, noone ever knows about pinwheel! I feel so bad for those souls who never got to experience the greatness of the creative and innovative pinwheel show. :-) I miss that plus and minus, a lot!
this show...man..this show..... :)

I am pretty sure it was from sesame street. But I could be wrong. I tried finding it on youtube with little luck. I may poke around the net latter to see if I can find it.

NecrochildK 4 years ago

Anyone else remember that little bug girl counting "one one one one..."? Or did I make that up?
chelee74 4 years ago
no, I remember it too. it would be every time they would play hide and seek. they finally made her count for real since they thought that kids would get the wrong idea.

I was 10 years old when this came out (I'm old as dirt). Plus and Minus were cool. Ebineezer sneeze was cool too. After this "Today's Special" came on, then Dangermouse, then You can't do that on television, then something called "the tommorrow people(fake dr. who)".

Oh yes :) I use to thrive on Todays Special. Hocus Pocus Alama gocus!

If not for Pinwheel, Nickelodeon wouldn't have taken off. I believe it was it's first show to air, as "competition" to PBS Sesame Street. I hate Nick now... Spongebob Squarepants makes me want to claw my eyes out; I cannot stand his laugh.
