I started flight school in November and I have a female instructor. After my second lesson, she introduced me to the "mile-high" club. We almost crashed...whoa...
Add this to the list: check the oil and fuel, look for nesting birds or mice in the cowling, and look for bugs (and bug droppings) in or near the pitot tubes.
The airlerons, rudder and elevator are all connected my cabels or push rods, there are no hydralics involved. The 'bottle' is a fuel tester, u drain fuel from the brain points in each wing, and also in some aircraft from under the nose where there is a fuel sump. This is to check for contamination such as water which clearly separates from the (blue) avgas fuel.
when my Dad would fly when I was very little, he would take a special bottle and push it to several nipples on the wings and fuselage, blue liquid would pour into the bottle and be checked. what was he doing and why? a fuel check maybe?
best to get real training as well though

Preflight inside and outside on a small Cessna 172 is something I do by memory. But everything from prestart to shut off is done by checklist.

Dear All,
I have some questions about psychology:
*Why do we want to be a pilot?
*What is the leisure to pilot an aeroplane?
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE for your creative ideas and brainstorm!!!

what about checking for water or sediment in the fuel tanks? I thought that was just a little bit important.
awilliams60 2 years ago
i think it was just a basic check of the fuselage because he didnt check oil either
paintballdude518 2 years ago
