The Bible should definately be in polotics. What if we voted for a President that could care less about the Bible and Christianity, forget about our country being based on Christian beliefs... and then you will start seeing a nation who has no idea who God is anymore.

It is worrying the Bible comes into politics at all. It simply shouldn't. Ancient ideas which mostly no longer apply. You're not meant to wear bras because they become "bands of fire" in hell. Everyone convineantly leaves out any part of the Bible they don't like. And if you can pick and choose, why have a book at all?

Obama doesn't know what he's talking about when he quoted the Gospel of Matthew. the "Brothers" Jesus was talking about (in context) are other servants of Jesus Christ, Jesus said later on his Brothers Mothers sisters are the one's who do God's will and God's will is for us to Repent and believe the Gospel. Give me thumbsdown all you want but I'm just correcting Obama because he misquoted the Bible.

It doesn't mean that we should only help Christians, we should be helping everyone out!

Obama gave 6% of his income to charity in 2007, he made over a million in 2007.

Dick Cheney gave over 70% of his income to charity. Cheney made over 8 million in 2007 and gave more than 6 million to charity.

Where in the scriptures does it say that the government needs to take care of the poor? Isn't that our job as a society? As a member of the family? As a member of a church?

Yeah, umm I agree that it would be a grave mistake and Mccain did well and will continue to do well, but I am not so confident of the people's ability to make a wise choice.

Individuals are usually reasonable but a half informed electorate can go with what looks good over what is substantively good.

Just ask people why they support whoever they support, and there is a stark contrast.

I think he is talking about bringing back the GI Bill benefit for college tuition so vets can go to college... and his bill to give tax breaks to companies that keep their factories in America. Also, he has some education proposals but I don't have the details on ( they are on his website though)

actually, its more complicated than that. every time we try to help citizens of darfur we are forced by the UN to send money to their corrupt government as 'aid', which then gets spent on mansions and hookers instead of food and medical supplies. hundreds of millions of dollars have been wasted on that farce, if we want to actually fix it there, we are going to have to take over the country, which is of course not politically correct or as warm and fuzzy as obama's attempts at foreign policy

Our lack of military intervention in a poor African country is not more complicated than the simple fact that we would have nothing to gain from offering that support.
