those are not bull hooks ringling does not use males on the road with the one exception king tusk. a bullhook is only used on males. what your seeing is an ankus and is never sharp. people are routinely fired for using sharp tools,(not a weapon).

@patcuvie brain?? 165 iq many degrees, heart I love all the animals in the shows , and am not oblivious to the small amount of cruelty that does occur in isolated instance. I also represent true democracy where your opinion does not affect another persons pet's property home or way of life. a guiding device is not a weapon but a tool, a weapon is what you use to do harm.

@patcuvie people in a solid industry are never threatened. over the life of Ringling alone there have been many usefull idiots like you who try to lie about things they don't know anything about constantly. a weapon is defined as something that is intended and designed to do permanent harm or kill. I was on tour with Ringling when king tusk was there. there was so much care and attention for him that the show had a special air conditioned/ heated truck just for him , could not fit on train.

@patcuvie I don't lie. that's one of the reasons why I have friends all over the world who trust me with their lives as I have them. I've been everywhere in the usa and canada with them many times . I don't lie . peta however has no ethics , stealing is not ethical, nor is breaking and entering, or relasing diseased animals into the wild to starve to death. not everything is perfect and some bad things happen on occasion, even in Ringling, but most circus work 99% is cruelty free. learn grow

@patcuvie see this is where your shooting your self in the foot with your mistruths. they are not bull hooks. bullhooks are like 5ft long. (1) debunked (2) a bullhook is for bulls , being the male of the species. the ankus is for the females . chaching again your wrong. (3) Ringling had one male on the road for a while king tusk, only for his extreme size. mixing male and females on the road would be extremely dangerous when must occurs. @circusboy90210 - Ankus is an old term which is rarely used even by the industry. Of course if you think King Tusk was the last male elephant used by Ringling then your are from the Gunther era wherein the term ankus was common. The modern term for these weapons is bullhook, as Gary Jacobsen, (GM of Ringling's Breeding & Training farm in Florida) affirmed in his 2009 court testimony. If you don't know these are bullhooks then you are either lying or again exposing your ignorance about Ringling.

@patcuvie the term ankus is still prevalent , I still work for circuses. I'm still friends with the main managers of many feld shows, and just worked for carson & barnes. talked to people from many shows while I was there. Ankus is still the term used in shows . you don't work there and would not know. I know all these people personally my whole life. was a #1 vendor , if you knew anything about Ringling you'd know me. I know everybody there. I don't lie and am not ignorant.
