Link's possible flying mechanism doesn't necessarily have to be electronic, steam-powered, etc. Remember the Deku leaf from Wind Waker? (ok, so technically it;s gliding, not flying, but whatever!) There are other possibilities... Then again, Link might not even be flying soon.

I dont think Wii 2 will be released, i mean, they would give a 50% discount on everyone who gives their Wii back, really, why would they make a console, to be a rival of their own console, then no one would buy the wii, just thw wii 2, and they would have a major loss on their total gains with the Wii, really, Nintendo is not dumb to do something like this, i mean, why woulde i make a console, and then make another console, that would make my other console obsolete? my thoughts of course
@zeldasuperfan123 Well, they've basicly done that with the DS when they made the DSi. The DSi can play all DS games but some can only be played on the DSi. I think something similar could be done for the Wii with a new Wii that can play all old games but has improved graphics and has some exclusive titles that the casual audience wouldn't care for anyway. With that said I doubt it will happen. Big N will probably just release a brand new console in 2-3 years or so, one with a longer lifecycle.

Yeah, the discount thing doesn't feel like something Nintendo would do even though they of course wouldn't want to make people who just got the Wii feel let down. Also, I doubt they would call it Wii 2. That would just make it sound like a brand new system and make matters worse. My guess is that it would be Wii+ or Wiii or something. lol
@Rosvolainen well, if they are to launch a new console, it ewill take bout 3-4 years, the wii is still at its prime, and they never launch a console, when another one is still a sucess, especially when lots of games for it, are going to be launched soon, especially the ones that already are a succes (Metroid other M, SMG2 and the new Zelda are the living proof)
The question is what will happen after the new games in their major franchises are launched, what else do they have in store for the Wii and how much more can they 'push the limits'? Say that those games are launched this year or perhaps pushed to early 2011, then what? If Sony (yes, Sony's wand was delayed) and Microsoft start gaining on them on the casual/motion control market they might have to take the fight to them. But perhaps they think three games will satisfy core gamers for 3-4 years.
Of course there's still a lot to be done with the motion controls but even with Wii Motion Plus it almost looks (to me at least) as if Nintendo has abandoned any attempts to try to apply motion controls to any 'deep core games'. But hopefully either Metroid Other M or the new Zelda will show that that's not the case. Only time will tell. :)

Maybe not an airplane... but wings. Now there's a thought. What if Link had a winged steed this time? Like a dragon maybe? Or perhaps a Phoenix. The Phoenix IS the symbol of Hyrule so it would make alot of sense! I'd love to ride a bird of fire and light in the skys of Hyrule myself :D.
I think that one of the other big releases could be StarFox. Think about it, we haven't heard anything from them, and the last game was just released for DS. So it all makes sense. Zelda and Fox should be announced at E3 2010.
Anyways, If Nintendo does decide to make a remake while being able to keep the emotional attachment, than they should add things they weren't able to add in like the supposed Ice Temple.
But that's what I just think. Not everyone would approve of that I believe.
Given the hints about Monster Hunter 3 , how about the possibility of multiplayer? You have Hylians, Gorons, Zora, Gerudo and even possibly Twili. Perhaps a jump in and out system to help out players?

I think that if the rumor of the Wii 2 is true, with a big game with the same release, I don't think that game is going to be Zelda Wii. Sure, I'd LOVE to see Zelda Wii come out next year. But has no one remembered Super Mario Galaxy 2, which comes out next year? I have a feeling if Wii 2 is true, SMG2 is the game coming out with its release, not Zelda Wii. in my opininion you will have to catch the master sword to kill ganondorf, but you only will see the spirit, and you have to look for the pieces of the sword,or you catch the sword without power and have to find her.

You could fly when you control the master sword girl, she is a spirit so she could fly and if she will be playable, she will have some advantages, like wolf link, but obvisouly you just will control her after a certain part of the game (i think that when you receive the master sword in the other games), or you have she in the beginning (to help you) and later she die, or transform into the master sword, but if she doesn't transform into the master sword she will be playable, and will be used to

Although I'm really wondering, would it be enough for a new Nintendo Console to simply have a few new services and HD graphics? last advancement from the gamecube brought a whole new way to play games with motion control and a remote for each hand. will the successor to the wii revolutionize anything at all?? if not then I don't believe in Wii 2 yet.
They never actually changed the graphical power of the DS to DSi though, adding HD graphics might be a bit far for just a new version of the Wii. Also, nintendo said they're next console would be a long way off, unless they don't count making a new version of the wii as a new console.

ST was a good game, yes I beat it already. The only ways PH was better are that it was longer and it's characters were better developed. In ST, they left me wondering "Why should I care that Byrne died? He just showed me how to get the compass of light and put up a forcefield. Woopti-doo" But seriously, They actually made me like Linebeck and Cielia in PH. In ST, the only character I liked is Zelda herself, after a while at least, at first she's just annoying. Anyway, it's a good game.
zelda is an adventure game and FF is a RPG. they both in their own right are big games. the people that call themselves attacking me are blind to that.

first off i can say what i want, your not my master. secondly. final fantasy has way more drama than zelda. i said that zelda has the potential to be on par with final fantasy. final fantasy has bigger worlds, a story that will last for ages and drama that could win it a grammy. zelda has a limited world, a story that is interesting but doesnt last in its memorial value(meaning a person would play final fantasy again sooner than zelda) zelda's drama can be pushed to the next level if done right.
In an RPG game, the most important thing of all is the storyline, or the game will simply get boring because of it's simplistic (normally turn-based) gameplay. That is why RPG games have a bigger focus on plot. On the other hand, Zelda games have a lot of action, so they don't necessarily need a deep storyline at all to be good. Not that it doesn't have an interesting storyline, it just doesn't need it. Similarly to Mario games.
I have to disagree on something though: I'm pretty sure no one would go through an RPG game all over again anytime soon (or ever), because it would be extremely monotonous to level up a character all over again and pass through so many battles. Every RPG game, even Final Fantasy ones, already struggle to keep pace in the first playthrough, often repetitive. A second playthrough would be just bland or worse. Concluding,there is one fact; you can't compare these completely different series.
i know where your coming from but, how many people buy a game and beat it and never play it again... the regular adventure gamer will beat a game and wait until they feel the urge to play it again. my point was that FF games are far more advanced than zelda. Zelda isnt anything to look pass though. the intensity of the FF games will generate more buzz than zeldas. FF and zelda have similarities but FF has an overall upperhand. Zelda's bosses get stomped by FF bosses but their concepts are better
FF has a bigger world making it more tiresome to explore while zeldas is smaller, less tiresome but at the sametime boring with the lack of interaction on the feilds. FF you have a choice of character while zelda has one. i would like to see team action in zelda.

Maybe not an airplane... but wings. Now there's a thought. What if Link had a winged steed this time? Like a dragon maybe? Or perhaps a Phoenix. The Phoenix IS the symbol of Hyrule so it would make alot of sense! I'd love to ride a bird of fire and light in the skys of Hyrule myself :D.

I think that one of the other big releases could be StarFox. Think about it, we haven't heard anything from them, and the last game was just released for DS. So it all makes sense. Zelda and Fox should be announced at E3 2010.

Given the hints about Monster Hunter 3 , how about the possibility of multiplayer? You have Hylians, Gorons, Zora, Gerudo and even possibly Twili. Perhaps a jump in and out system to help out players?

but you can fly in TP! remember the part where you have to fly up the Zora River? and then you can go back later and play the game where you pop the balloons? it is technically flying, but you can't really control where you fly

I think that if the rumor of the Wii 2 is true, with a big game with the same release, I don't think that game is going to be Zelda Wii. Sure, I'd LOVE to see Zelda Wii come out next year. But has no one remembered Super Mario Galaxy 2, which comes out next year? I have a feeling if Wii 2 is true, SMG2 is the game coming out with its release, not Zelda Wii. Think about it, Zelda Wii doesn't even have a release date yet. If I know Nintendo as well as I think I do, Zelda Wii will come out in 2011.

destroy big monsters, with battles with some elements of shadow of tehe colossus, or you will use her to shot powerballs (that will be called spirit balls) when you fly, so you can shot where Link normally can't.
in my opininion you will have to catch the master sword to kill ganondorf, but you only will see the spirit, and you have to look for the pieces of the sword,or you catch the sword without power and have to find her.
and i want to know that if the game uses motion plus i can play it

You could fly when you control the master sword girl, she is a spirit so she could fly and if she will be playable, she will have some advantages, like wolf link, but obvisouly you just will control her after a certain part of the game (i think that when you receive the master sword in the other games), or you have she in the beginning (to help you) and later she die, or transform into the master sword, but if she doesn't transform into the master sword she will be playable, and will be used to

i hope they dont get too modern in the zelda series. Just like that april fools joke a while back when a video said that it will bee all futureistic and Link with an Epona motercycle. But they should definatly have a temporary flying element in it like if you play a song to fly over spacific spots for chests.

@earthbounding: yeah that's what I said. Its other rumored name is Wii HD which I heard being used more often than Wii 2. Although I'm really wondering, would it be enough for a new Nintendo Console to simply have a few new services and HD graphics? last advancement from the gamecube brought a whole new way to play games with motion control and a remote for each hand. will the successor to the wii revolutionize anything at all?? if not then I don't believe in Wii 2 yet.

They never actually changed the graphical power of the DS to DSi though, adding HD graphics might be a bit far for just a new version of the Wii. Also, nintendo said they're next console would be a long way off, unless they don't count making a new version of the wii as a new console.

Considering the fact that before they decided calling their latest console "Wii" it was known as the "Nintendo Revolution" since E3 '05, I have no idea what name they'll come up with next. :3

No. 1: HOW THE FUCK WOULD IT MAKE SENSE RELEASING THE NEXT ZELDA IN TWO VERSIONS ASSUMING THERE'S GONNA BE AN HD WII ANNOUNCED IN THE NEXT E3. It's sounds almost as stupid as Modern Warfare Reflex
No. 2: If there really is going to be a Wii 2, I'd expect them to figure out how to link together much of their current accessories for the Wii remotes and parts. For example, morphing the wii remote, motion plus, and wii speak into one.

ST was a good game, yes I beat it already. The only ways PH was better are that it was longer and it's characters were better developed. In ST, they left me wondering "Why should I care that Byrne died? He just showed me how to get the compass of light and put up a forcefield. Woopti-doo" But seriously, They actually made me like Linebeck and Cielia in PH. In ST, the only character I liked is Zelda herself, after a while at least, at first she's just annoying. Anyway, it's a good game.

first off i can say what i want, your not my master. secondly. final fantasy has way more drama than zelda. i said that zelda has the potential to be on par with final fantasy. final fantasy has bigger worlds, a story that will last for ages and drama that could win it a grammy. zelda has a limited world, a story that is interesting but doesnt last in its memorial value(meaning a person would play final fantasy again sooner than zelda) zelda's drama can be pushed to the next level if done right.

In an RPG game, the most important thing of all is the storyline, or the game will simply get boring because of it's simplistic (normally turn-based) gameplay. That is why RPG games have a bigger focus on plot. On the other hand, Zelda games have a lot of action, so they don't necessarily need a deep storyline at all to be good. Not that it doesn't have an interesting storyline, it just doesn't need it. Similarly to Mario games.

I have to disagree on something though: I'm pretty sure no one would go through an RPG game all over again anytime soon (or ever), because it would be extremely monotonous to level up a character all over again and pass through so many battles. Every RPG game, even Final Fantasy ones, already struggle to keep pace in the first playthrough, often repetitive. A second playthrough would be just bland or worse. Concluding,there is one fact; you can't compare these completely different series.

i know where your coming from but, how many people buy a game and beat it and never play it again... the regular adventure gamer will beat a game and wait until they feel the urge to play it again. my point was that FF games are far more advanced than zelda. Zelda isnt anything to look pass though. the intensity of the FF games will generate more buzz than zeldas. FF and zelda have similarities but FF has an overall upperhand. Zelda's bosses get stomped by FF bosses but their concepts are better

FF has a bigger world making it more tiresome to explore while zeldas is smaller, less tiresome but at the sametime boring with the lack of interaction on the feilds. FF you have a choice of character while zelda has one. i would like to see team action in zelda.

yes but how do you know the next one will be smaller? Who knows it could very likely be huge. Of course with a bigger world comes transportation elements. I don't know about you guys but yes TP was "bigger" but it felt alot smaller because all you had to do to get somewhere was just warp. I'd rather ride my way on a horse looking at the great scenery and places I can go.
