To all Indians, Pakistanis and Bangladeshis, You are all the same people, but you were divided by winston churchill, david sasoon - who were both jews - and all the other british raj scum of the earth. They caused famine and wars, killing over 15,000,000 innocent men, women and children who were hindus, muslims, sikhs and christians. They killed, stole and raped the indian subcontinent blind - and you are still living in poverty as a result. Read the research done by Mike Davis and Amartya Sen!
@MrXtermin8 It is true that the British Raaj robbed the Indian subcontinent of much of its wealth, but it wasn't the only authority to do so. Countless came before? Who was it that gave the British the right to keep their army as a part of the protection for the East India Trading co? It was Indians themselves. It is a part of the history and should be remembered, but the split again was caused by Indians themselves, they caused much of the death of partition. Rights may have saved those lives.
@ysderby They gave the British the right, as a few greedy rulers were fighting amongst themselves in that area, however that right was for legitimate trade only and not for the British to overun the whole nation. Also I'd point out theauthorities who came before seemed to add to and enrich Indian culture and merge the nation together, unlike the British.
@MrXtermin8 I completely agree that they added to Indian culture, but they also did great damage, the number of Hindus, Sikhs and other religions that were murdered in the name of Islam was atrocious. Islam does not condone it, but they felt it their duty. They had become Indian and the pain they gave their people was unexpected however that the British gave was expected. They did not care about our welfare, but it was just as terrible and it robbed India naked.
@ysderby But I need to add if you look at the history, India was the greatest nation on Earth at the time of the Mughals, and also the richest, and it was one nation from Peshawar to Dakha, and from Delhi to Chennai. So they did not rob India blind. As for the murdered in the name of religion, Im sure all religions were involved in wars for land and rule. So there was really no difference from the Mughals, to the sikh rulers, to the hundu rulers. But the British starved millions of people.
@MrXtermin8 Forcing people to change religions, innocent people, otherwise face death is a policy implemented by the Mughals, not one by others. Why else did the Hindu Pandits come to Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji? I am just stating that the pain the Mughals gave us was one they should have if they called themselves Indian. But the British never felt that attachment therefore the pain the gave was understandable however it does not mean it was any less painful or unforgivable.
@ysderby I think you are referring to conversions during Aurangzeb's rule, where alot of fighting happened. But he was only one ruler, there were many before and after him who lived in harmony and peace and united India. Whereas the British did not do anything for India from any of their reulers including Churchill, they all looked out for themselves and Britain only. So there is a huge difference, between the two sets of rulers.
@MrXtermin8 Jahangir was another one... true you shouldn't place all people in the same category but we shouldn't just look at the rulers but the sub-ordinate officers too. They were the ones who carried them out, with or without the knowledge of the rulers. I am not here to support the british in order to demean the Mughals - instead that they both carried out injustices - but it was expected from the British, not hiding their view on indians, the Mughals, as Indians, should have known better.
Today is 11/11 -Armsitice day (or poppy day as the kids call it) in the UK. As the 2 mins silence is observed throughout Europe our brave Sikh forefathers are remembered. So thank you for posting this video.
A great video but to touch on what was said at the end of the video, that we as sikhs are destroying the very identity and morals that were forged by our gurus and the likes of the soliders mentioned in this video.
it is nice to hear praise from winston churchill for sikhs, but this is same person who hates anything indian, and certainly had very low opinion of indians in general!!!! so the real reason behind his praise not respect for sikh tradition but britain's own national interest in securing Sikh's help in future needs!!!!
@mandeepgarhwal u c we are not indians bro.. how can we call ourselves indian in a country that is trying to finish this word 'sikhi' be any means possible.
@Hidd3nDeath sikhs are indian my friend... dont let a majority of ppl make u think otherwise....its also important to dissociate government from country....generations of sikh people died fighting under the banner of INDIA, it would be disrespectful to them all to consider yourself not a part of their legacy.
@110nns Indian is a nationality and there are many Sikhs living outside of India with other citizenships. However, on a emotional level many Sikhs feel India has done a great injustice with them. India is used to include government and its people. There are many who supported the Sikhs many who ridiculed and fought them, but many more who sat idly by whilst Sikhs were beaten and burned. Sikhs did not die for India but its people and it was their decedents who disrespected their legacy.
This is the valor of Sikhs, the high spirit of Khalsa which inhrited in them by their 10th Guru Guru Gobind Singh ji. Out of 10, most fierceful battles fought t, two are directly linked with Sikhs, which includes, Battle of Chamkaur, Battle where only 40 men under command of there 10th Guru frustrated fully equipped Mogul army and the secon is of Saragadi in 1897 where only 21 sikh soldiers stopped 10,000 Afridi pathans.
This valor is accepted by Pakistani gaeneral Mukeesh khan also in 1971.
