yeah thx. its actually copied from our seniors from 1994 syf, where it looked alot better cos there were 8 of them doing it. we were pretty lucky to have the spinning synchronised on the day itself.

hey me from 1989 - 1992. glad to see this posted! the opening sequence is very similar to our 1991 opening... and we were the first batch to spin instruments! can still remember my hands aching after twirling my tuba (yes our huge yamaha 4-valve tubas, didn't have sousaphones then). loose trombone slides became dangerous flying objects...

gives me goosebumps to relive those times. gold and top band... those were the days. we lived and died for the glory. keep it up, boys! :D

I swear the first the first song from 1:38 to 1:49 where they did the domino effect and at 2:41 when they did the hand movements are very alike o TK's first an last part of their show on the Grand Finals, 1st July.

Are some TK instructor or somewhere near in-charge of this band? Just curious

I was in the 1987-1990 batch, the school only turned independant when I was Sec 2.

I remembered we trained like mad for the outdoor competition, all I can say is, it really prepared me for NS. I was dark as coal after months under the burning sun.

Brought out some really nice memories, the camaraderie and stuff. ^^

the snare drummers are great... i gotta salute them... its not easy twirling a 5kg single snare or even a 10 kg double snare around and above ur head!

rock on hci band! add more creative formations into ur performance. the music choices were great! add more refinement to ur drills and u will definitely soar high!!!

Singapore Youth Festival. It's an annual event where arts group in the Singapore educational institutes compete. Every year alternates between marching and concert competitions. Like, if 2006 is marching, than 2007 is concert, etc.

i am from the 1996-2000 era! was from flutes/piccolo. gave me goosebumps watching this video... reminded me of the hard but amazing days.

well, this video shows a pretty good effort! well done. but can refine in the drill, be more daring and creative in your displays (can refer to past videos and other schools to get ideas). or else the displays are just very basic shapes --> a bit boring.

but you guys show good potential. all the best for your future competitions!!!

The Chinese High School?? U sure about it??? The Chinese High was  one of the top display badn in the 80's and early 90's but they 'retire' after year 1994...

The Chinese High is renamed to Hwa Chong Institution in year 2004 or 2005 And TCH last perform SYF outdoor competition in year 1998 not 1994

Yes, another guy behind snare also drop his. the man in white pick up and give back to him at th end of the performance, overall still need more practise. however their spinning are nice !
