You asked, did you have custody of her, the answer is, when a couple divorces, the judge divides custody between both parents in most cases, one gets visitations, the other gets "legal custody". @NIVPsalm51, They had every reason to return her but did not. The system gives them opportunity to use the time law. There are state adoption bonuses and rewards. In this case they already had a foster to adopt family who were interested in keeping her. For the state to complete their outcome, they had to use their programs to gain the X amount of months. So one of the points revealed in this audio is, just because you did not do anything wrong, does not mean the state will return your child.

So you and others have a clearer picture. My wife (we where actually never married) was classified a binge drinker. She could go for months at a time without drinking at all. So I understand how easy it is to get into this kind of trouble. In the end I finally had to give up on my wife for the sake of my kids. Yes they definitley need to return your child to you. I was in your same boat in Florida.It took a year for me to finally prove that I was a fit parent. My late wife was an alcoholic and they assumed I was also. When you are put in that situation, they give you the option to allow the problem spouse time to complete their case plan. But unknown to me when the other spouse fails to complete DCF moves in to terminate BOTH parents rights. They state that I was co-dependant. Lucky for me I won case.

They also expressed (in trial) that I was a conduit for the problem parent (exposure to child). What happened was the mother would almost complete her case plan and then fail (sometimes I think deliberatley) near the end of each plan. She had failed many times. She was givn ample oportnity. So DCF finally moved to terminate both our rights. What I said haunted the judge and that was I percieved each case plan as recommend instruction to keep trying. DCF was denied. I swore no more contact. HTH

@RJSoftware2000 Yes, a person has to really be careful, the system likes to mesh both partners as one, blame one partner for what the other partner may do, They even go as far as to combine to two when you are separate living apart and or divorced. So what ever the other person does, you have to be ready for what this system has in store for you.

She was not taken away from me, she was taken away from the other parent, I went to the courts to get my daughter back, and found myself subjected to a system that was completely out of control but had one focus in mind, my daughter, so they used their programs to gain the X amount of months they look for in order to keep the child forever.

My daughter has been gone for many years now, there is a healing process that happens as time goes on. Every avenue I turned to had a twist in it, for example, when I asked for my files, I was told they shredded them, you can even hear the audio of that too on my channel, trying to get a lawyer was almost impossible, they either want thousands of dallors and then more or you or told they can not represent you becuase you are not the "real parent". etc..

Tried to get daughter out of the state's system, and they ran me through their programs in order too gain the time and months they needed too completely keep my daughter and not return her. Listen to the audio of the state court appointed therapist who states that the pressure to put my daughter up for adoption was coming from how many months the child is in the system.
