It is a shame that EU still thinks Turkish people want to join the EU. The current Turkish government is all alone in its aim.. Countries like Russia, Turkey etc. are too powerful to join the EU. @PSAVA74 The Turks are not waiting; there is enough room for the Turks in north Cyprus. The Turks are not in any rush 2invade the south, not yet anyway. The entire world couldn’t stop Turkey from arriving in 1974, what could a bunch of losers like the Greeks do? Cyprus is 40 miles from mainland Turkey, if you think the Turks will give it to the Greeks, then you really are stupid. If the EU makes Turkey chose between the EU and Cyprus. Cyprus wins hands down every single time. No doubt about it!

All Greeks were having a civil war in 1974 between followers of EOKA B & followers of Makarios & the Turks incvaded while we were fighting each other...
The Americans & the British helped you because you are there servants in the Middle East against Russia & the Arabs...
Then your masters the Ameriacans & the British quickly put the border to stop us taking it back...

I don’t know anything? The Greeks wanted Enosis, union with Greece. The Turks were an obstacle to this. From 1955 - 1974 12,000 Turks were killed by EOKA and the Greek population. Tell me, who was Nikos Sampson? Who was George Grivas? What was the purpose of Enosis?Lastly,why would the British help the Turks? The British would arrive, remove Turkish shotguns and then the Greeks would move in and slaughter the Turks. The Brits hated the Turks because of WW1 1915. God sake, what r u on?

You idiot!! Cyprus has been Turkish since 1571 and before that it belonged to the Byzantines Empire. Cyprus has never been Greek. You are the one who is stupid. Do you think that Turkey would allow the Greek people, who are openly hostile towards Turkish Cypriots and Turks from Turkey to occupy an island 40 miles from the mainland of Turkey? HAHAHA! @PSAVA74 The people spoke Greek, but it does not make them Greek. Greece did not exist before 1915. The people in Rome spoke Greek. Why not claim that Italy is also part of Greece as well? 1571 is going back far enough. I cant be fucked bothered going back 1071.

@PSAVA74 I’m not saying that the Greeks had no influence in Cyprus. But after 450 years of Turkish rule, you should understand that the Turks are very attached to Cyprus. Cyprus has Turkish names for the towns in Cyprus as well. My father speaks fluent Greek including 5 other languages. Does that make my father Greek as well? I don’t think so...
