  • Now this is ADULT OWNED!!!

  • If i were doing donuts in this car i would go blind and eventually crash because of how much adrenaline is running through my veins #Musclelife

  • looks like he was about to get hit

  • piss poor camera operator.

  • What BOV is that

  • no hands

  • Not bad. I own a 84' T-Type and it is just as mean as the 86'-87' turbo buicks. Had it out just yesterday and made a proud new owner of a 2011 mustang GT look really bad. Just showed him what my 27 year old buick still has the ball's to whip the new fangled so called muscle cars. Did it to him twice. Then punked a kid in a newer ss monte carlo. God i love the 78'-87' turbo buick's.

  • Nooooo... ahhhh that compressor surge makes me cringe...

  • Whoops didn't think my first comment made it. Sorry for giving the props to phatta, he was wrong.

  • Slaphappy and Boyd are correct. That's not a blowoff valve, the turbo compressor is surging. When you let off the gas pedal quickly, it snaps the throttle body shut, the air is rushing towards it (20psi or so on most gns) and it has nowhere to go. The sound you are hearing is the air coming back through the intercooler, through the turbo, out the air filter. I have an 87 GN (no BOV) and it sounds just like that when I let off the throttle.

  • @sprayta Well if your car has compressor surge you should get a BOV, surge is destructive to turbos and their is no good thing about it. Surge is what stalls turbos and in turn breaks them, BOV's save turbos

  • Guys, that's not a blowoff valve. As phattacorider said, it's compressor surge. When the turbo is spooled up and you let the pedal quickly, the throttle body snaps shut and the air rushing towards the engine???? It has to find an alternative way out, since it can't all fit in the throttle body. It comes back through the intercooler, through the turbo, and out the filter. I have one of these cars (no BOV on it) and it sounds just like that when I let off.

  • THANK YOU FOR ACTUALLY DRIVING YOUR GN... just sayin, alot of people dont go balls deep like that in their gn's cuz they are scared. which is a waste.

  • @Galestinian no they just race them not thrash them like a drift car. keep it straight like a drag car should. these things are not dime a dozen like most cars out there.

  • There is no BOV on this car.

  • The GN needs a better driver.

  • Holy Tits! Shit Camera, but nice GN

  • bad ass sound

  • GN's must be really fun. Every GN video on youtube is a race or a burnout or donut. lol I can't wait til I get one

  • where's freedom of speech or is that gone in this country you fucks

  • CamerMan DIE!!!

  • Maybe a blow off valve would help. Bad for the turbo bearings.

  • Buick Needs to bring back an anniversary edition or limited edition Grand National and T-Type for a few years. Bring back true American power, and show them ricers how it's done.

  • amen 2 that, love the GN

  • @BroderickGoertzen i know what your saying, but your saying it on the most american ricer car out there its 6cyl and turboed lol

  • @hotkarl92 true but they still arent american

  • @BroderickGoertzen Ricers?? Did you know the GN's had a V6 Turbo?? Have you seen the Camaro ZL1's yet?? They've been bringing back American Power...American V8's!!

  • Comment removed

  • @disestablish Buicks aren't American power because they are a V6 Turbo? Better not tell Ford, since the best selling truck ever has a 3.5 turbo V6 now that is outperforming the V8's, what?? The ZL1 MSRP will be $47,000, that's the starting price with no options. I have owned three GN's that I picked up for less than $7,000, and when parked next to the cool new cars, guess which attracts more attention? If I dropped $47K into a GN, it would be too scary to drive. Class over money any day..

  • I love the engine in this car, It makes 275 HP with 360 ft-lbs of torque . One of my old neighbors has the exact car but all rusted out, had a new motor in it though , He wants 1,200 for it . I was thinking about dropping that engine inside of my X-11 .

  • WTF? Give me the address i'll buy it...

  • fuck holy shit thats cheap

    good project car

i saw one in the paper some fucken hindu owned it and beat the shit outa it and he wanted 8grand for it, all rusted, motor is shit interior fuck thrashed

  • That is some ridiculous power! I've always wanted a GN to sit beside my 4th gen Z28. Maybe one day...

  • COMPRESSOR SURGE

  • Why do the turbo make that unique noise at the end

  • that would be called a blow out valve... im not a turbo expert but me thinks it has something to do with letting all the built up air out?

  • LOL, correct. It's a blow-off valve. It realeases extra pressure between the turbo and throttle body during moments of sudden engine deceleration to prevent leaning, and back pressure, like when you take your foot off the throttle really quick for braking or shifting.

  • @phattacorider they dont have blow off valves, thats compressor surge...

  • @Boydd916

I was responding to the user about what he thought a BOV was, and letting him know what it does.

  • Ouch, that seems a little WRECKLESS !!!!!!

  • Um, Im not impressed. That car can do so much more. The driver cant drive. Keep tring.

  • I luv dat

  • what kinda of bov do u have?

  • type in cecil county dragway please i want every one to know about my home town dragway and im 10

  • what is that that makes that whoop whoop whoop sound... is it the turbo pressure release? I've heard it on a few videos now and I can't figure it out.

  • hey...that sound, while it sounds cool, it is def. not good, it is called compressor surge. basicaly it is where it is building boost when no boost is needed (a.k.a acell off), and the boost has no where to go and it is craming the intake full of unwanted air, and the sound is actually the turbine of the turbo turning backwards :( ...so sounds good, but not good on car

  • You're an idiot.

  • no he isnt its true. it wont be long till he is puttin in a new motor because the turbo exploded.

  • no, unless the BOV doesn't work, it's pretty hard to get compressor surge. The whole point of the thing is to release the air the turbo is pumping into the intake off throttle.

  • Buick GN's didn't come with BOV's... do your research. Thats why I had to install the Turbonetics BOV onto my 86 GN.

  • ohhh everyone knows everything now right? Don't assume things asshole. I'm well aware GN's didnt come with blow-off valves but judging by the sound of the damn car it's not stock, and chances are the owner put one in seeing as how the MAJORITY of decently intelligent people know it's a good idea. So suck it.

  • Seeing that I am a owner I am very knowledgeable about this car. That bmw guy was right too.. its compressor surge. Also, the MAJORITY of buick guys don't run bov's. They just ease off the throttle at the end of the track. Besides your the guy acting like you know everything. (Reference your first reply.)

  • I'm an owner too buddddy. The majority of Buick guys don't even have turbos if you want to get technical (haha it's a joke!), but I run one, and everyone I've met or talked to that has done anything significant to their motors runs a BOV or a massive diverter. I'm almost positive it's not compressor surge, because I've had it happen to me and it's not that vocal, I just had a little squeal right off throttle and a lot of lag.

  • come one guys arguing on the internet is like the special olympics, even if you win your still retarded lol, cant we all just get along

  • I love the way it sounds

  • gota love gns

  • fucking amazing

  • o ya that is awsome
