  • Damn! Oh man, does that feel god! These guys were the best - they could rock the current generation of posers out of the room and down the street before they knew what hit them!

  • WHY HAVE I NEVER HEARD THIS VERSION BEFORE?

  • 1blastman feel free to put the rest of the album on here.

You'll be doing the rest of the world a favor.

    We won't tell!

  • Man, I wish the rest of this album was on You Tube.

    The whole album is great.

  • @cbtole1 This album is an American Blues Classic - I have it on vinyl, but it's very tough to find on cd or in the old record store bins.

  • Now your messin with a sona beeotch

  • Nazareth ripped off some of the guitar parts for one of their songs,I can hear it in there

  • If this don't get you feet moving you better see a doctor because you half dead

  • That opening guitar sound...omg

  • my favorite song for 2011

  • your right this is a great version

  • I'm gonna sue Adam,,, he breathes like me man

  • "When she's hot there ain't no collin' "

  • Cadillac Records is fiction. Rich Cohen's Machers and Rockers, about Chess Records, is an accurate account. Rather than exploiting artists, Chess made Muddy a rich man and Willie Dixon was the first black record executive in the US, a VP of Chess. More than anything, the musicians then wanted a song on the radio because that got them gigs paying $400 a night, a nice car and a fine lady at their side. Leonard and Phil Chess got them on the radio.

  • muitooooooooooo lokoooooooooooo

  • the four people that dislike this are big duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuummmmmmmmmiiiiiiieeeeessssssssssssssssss!

  • It might be just my opion but blues country are rock would be dead.If it wasnt for these men.remember most of these singer came up in an area that looked down on blacks.and alot of the song i think came from hard time back in the 1920 and 30s.even up to the 1960s.we here about Elive being the King of rock'en roll.Ha i dont think so.

  • Willie Dixon wrote this song especially for Little Walter. LW didn't like it. It took Willie almost two years to talk LW into recording it. It was, of course, LW's biggest- selling hit.

  • Excellent. Do you know who the drummer is?

  • That boy knows how to strum a guitar

  • Hey can you post more tunes from this album? It's one of my all time favorite especially "I'M a Man" I love the banter that's going on. - classic Chess Blues

  • you know if you are depress don't use only medicine try to listen to some goed music such as this one you gonna see how fast beter you gonna feel it is not a joke.thanks uploader for your effort and sharing.

  • Muddy had some Umph up in his voice!

  • Awesome

  • Awesome version, I suppose the weird guitar sound comes out of bo Diddley guitar... I love this sound so much, hypnotic!!! Like all the true african inspired music. Guess what? Since black american people do white music... that’s cheat!

That was great music, back then! Wow!

  • @WILDAIR Yeah, I love that organ-like guitar sound of his. Another who has that sound was the white guitarist Lonnie Mack.

  • pure pure pure.šic:)

  • Listened to a bunch of versions, and this one is the best, despite all the staged hokum between Muddy, Bo and Walter. Can't tell if there's an organ on this, or it's just Didley's organ-sounding guitar. But this is a great gospel-like approach to this tune. No offense to Walter intended but I greatly prefer this version to Walter's original "swing" rendition. Great stuff!

  • This is crazy stuff man! What kind of magic is this that takes control of my body???

  • @Nojentiporc the magic is called rock n roll.

  • @Nojentiporc

    That's the BASS.

  • Love that CBG!

  • This shit makes my big toe jump up in my boot!!

  • @wistoncap Oh yea!

  • @wistoncap little richard :P

  • ah cigar box guiatrs remember when

  • this is cool, never heard it before.

Elvis also does a great version of it.

I love Bo, Elvis etc - there's room for all of them

  • Another case in point: George Thorogood. My kids LOVED his stuff (as well as some song I never heard called "I Want Candy") but had never heard of Bo Diddley - until I showed them where good ol' George had gotten alot of his stuff. Now they love Bo as well. It wasn't about color - It was all about the quality of the music; which I've tried very hard to raise my kids to appreciate.

  • You guys are so freaked - it doesn't matter who did who's tune. So many artists cover others' music - it is an honor and a compliment to the original artist IMO. Case in point: Tim Hardin's "If I Were a Carpenter". One of the most beautiful songs of our era - but how many would have heard it if no one but Tim had done it? Hell, I didn't know who Tim was until I heard Bobby Darin's version. Now it has been covered by artists from every genre and millions have been able to share and enjoy it.

  • hes got a roland gk2 on that cigar box, am i the only one that invisions him playin' groovy synth or vg!

  • wish i had this album!!!!!

  • Would somebody play this for Mick Jagger, so the Stones can get back to business?

  • @danpolicarpo Ha ha! I agree totally. And while you're at it, bring back Mick Taylor. He's paid his debt to society.

  • @sunb1ind this is Willie Dixons song, written for little walter...

  • @highschoolmusical841 true, true

  • great version, but what is Boy George doing playing guitar in that picture ; )

  • (continued) in military in Korea, Okinawa, etc. have told me that even they got WLACby some complicated ship-to-shore network. It was our right! We were white but wee weren't robots. Our parents didn't go throiugh the depression, WW2, etc. to have their kids restricted to listening to Pat Boone. No doubt some Republican youth were sadly deprived, but everone I knew (and many met later from all over the country) was listening to WLAC in cars, on dates, doing homework, falling asleep.

  • White kids had familiarity with and access to black music in the 1950's; it was just not mentioned by those people-in-suits. Radio WLAC out of Nashville played righteous music by Bo Diddley, Hank Ballard & Midnighters, (early) Drifters, Little Walter, (early)Ray Charles, Otis Williams, etc etc. As evening progressed and other stations went off the air, people from farther and farther away could tune in. The sponsors were two record shops who mailordered the music. People who served (cont)

  • Pat boone ripped off Little Richard and at first Little Richard was upset and mad about it,but then he realized it got his own played more and helped him,so now he thanks pat boone,By the way pat boones versions sucked. The kids would buy both and leave pat boones to be seen by parents and have little richard in the drawer.

  • Gooooood, this rocks *_*

  • whos the drummer?

  • this is a gem!

  • Nazareth - Hair of the Dog!! realmente el blues es el padre del rock...

  • all i know is, chuck berry sued beach boys over his sweet 16 song - and won, willie dixon (who wrote most of songs for muddy water and the like @ chess records) sued led zepplin for a million and won, I dont blame elvis- I blame society- "race" music wasnt welcomed because of the "face" of the music,, so- put black music or however you want to label it- into the "face they want to see" and you'll make millions, or in Hendrix's case- leave america. Blues started it all, and unfortunetly,.....

  • @donaldleejr way to just have watched that movie you zilch. I agree those guys deserve the credit but have an original though you dope. Elvis was a hack.

  • @coolcatjerk that is my thought---WHAT, i didnt watch the movie soon enough ? true Elvis was a hack, but who allowed him to be one ??? I know music and I DO KNOW the history, thank you. the history of music is all jacked up, people cheated out of what they created, what one does makes another rich, ( Little Richard)

I just met Joey Welz at the nashville songwriters music fest 2 weeks ago,, I talk history alot --

  • @coolcatjerk fyi Joey Welz, - original member of the Comets (Bill Haley) they still play,, co writer on rock around the clock and shake rattle and roll etc,..... rock and roll hall of fame, rockabilly hall of fame etc...

  • @donaldleejr w illie dixon did what lmmfao

  • @asiabludog reasearch, you'll find out

  • @donaldleejr same with chuck berry. the move "cadillac records" deals about all the stuff, with a focus on muddy waters

  • In case it hasn`t been mentioned... Elvis will be remembered as a cultural phenomenan not as a good or innovative musician.

Black guys were the drivers but were hardly noticed. When white guys like the Stones etc. copied their stuff it went big.

  • @DeutschensindLoser Correct - Elvis really put these guys on the map.

  • They took all the hard earned african americans money and used it for there own personal needs. It makes me sick to kno that something like that was allowed. And for your information before you get all white surpremmis on me i am white.

  • Ok ppl listen up. Elvis DID steal majority of his songs. Most of them were all remakes that he stole from black blues and r&b artisit. Saying elvis is king is like saying buddy guy is white. And for themojomansince1959 yes the guitar wasnt invented in africa you rasist fuck. But it dosent matter what the instrument is, its all about who the artist is. Look at lil walter. He played the harmonica. And yes most whites back then did steal alot of black artist music.

  • Smokin song..can't listen to it enough!

  • so old, and so fresh :)

  • Fantastic version but I can´t believe that with all this Elvis discussion, none of the posters has realized that the reason he was the most innovative singer of the blues was his capacity to g beyond what the writer of the song intented. "Talk about my baby,! repeated and sang differently than the rest of the song, in his version, and in every other version, is what makes HIS version the best. And he ends it with a huge shout, at the end, that is no one but HIS. Listen to Presley...

  • @pulmon66 They loved it when he recorded their songs and moreso when he got them more recognized.

Elvis loved those guys,,he was a fan. I wish I could find the article that told the story that Elvis saw Bo Diddley do all that moving & grooving he did and Elvis adapted it his way. After all they were both from the very same part of Northern Miss. near Memphis. Bo was born in McComb,Miss.

  • Elvis' popularitycame from the business and the culture of the day. All musicians and composers got cheated of royalties and fair contracts, even into the '70s with rights of CCR tunes. Musicians then and earlier skated around contract limits by playing and recording under assumed names, so they got some back. We fans of music are free to explore little known artists and gems thanks to the technology. Let's get out there and dig!

  • These guys are the true Kings of Rock and Roll. I' throw in Chuck Berry for sure. Great music.

  • "Blues Harmonica Player " is the new worldwide stage for Blues harp players to share their videos and ideas. We need guys like you who can play, upload your videos, help manage our forums, and be part of a movement that will go worldwide. We are backed by some of the best blues players we can find. “Like” us on Facebook and spread the word.

  • I grew up in the 50's and was alway drawn to Fats Domino, Little Richard, Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly and Bill Haley. But none of them blew me away as much as Bo. As I grew older, I'd get away from the core of rock and roll, but then someone would cover a Bo song, and BAM! I'd get pulled right back to Bo's sound. So many great bands have covered Chess [and New Orleans] artists over the years -

But Bo Diddley is one of the master creators of Rock 'n' Roll.

RIP Bo - you were the best!

  • my Great Grandf father..Mr. Mcdaniel R.I.P...rock on!

  • Rock and Roll was born from the meeting of black Rhythm and blues and white rock solid country lyrical . Before that there was the Swing by the likes of Duke Ellington, The Dorsey Brothers. Before that there was Dixie Land and Ragtime, before that, African chants and English/Irish reels. All these forms gave something to the other and in the early 50's it came out Rock n Roll.

  • @thestoryplease Right On. I never heard it explained better. You can't tell some people that. When they get on me about white's stealing R&R I remind them that the GUITAR wasn't invented in Africa.

  • @THEMOJOMANsince1959 The guitar wasnt invented in america either...and if you are alluding to "whites" inventing the guitar , lets not forget about the strong arab/north african influence in the development of the instrument in Spain

  • I know it's live and they are just having fun.

I just like the original version so much better.

It's about the cleanest record I've heard.

  • I like your passion capedcrusader but settle down and take a deep breath. People need to keep listening to music like this because most of the stuff out today is crap. As for Elvis, his first hit was a remake of a Big Boy Crudup song. Personally I don't have to bash Elvis to raise up Bo Diddley, or Muddy, or Chuck. They stand tall on their own.

  • @Odin029 I entirely agree. Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, Elvis, Roy Orbison, Carl Perkins, Muddy waters, Jerry Lee Lewis, Litle Richard, Bill Haley all stand tall in the history of rock and roll/ r and b. Whatever label you put on it, it was ultimately the music that mattered, not their personalities or the origin of their songs, or whether it was black or white. Music is continually evolving but today's artistes should look back in awe sometimes and see where it all came from.

  • @Odin029 RIGHT ON !!! I was never a big Elvis fan but I know he Loved these guys and he made a lot of them more famous and created a lot of royalty money for their music. Elvis brought their music through THE FRONT DOOR instead of THE BACK DOOR. I was right in the middle of ALL THAT being a DJ for many years and a record promotion man for another many years. Sometimes I wonder W.I.T.H. people get some of the crap they believe. No wonder oBozo got elected.

  • @Odin029 Absolutely - Chuck and Elvis knew a good tune, white or black. No coincidence that on their first single, they each had a "hillbilly tune" on one side and a "negro tune" on the flip side if you were to look at color instead of music.

  • @Odin029 U got that right!!

  • @Odin029 Your right, you don't have to bash Elvis, however homage should be paid to those artist that laid the foundation in which Elvis' legacy/empire is built upon, let alone Rock music. All the artist you mentioned didn't remotely reap the finances that Elvis achieved using 'their' music. They didn't receive royalties & a good portion of them died penniless. While someone else recorded their music & receives milions of dollars.

  • @Odin029 well said..

  • you better wake up,son! this is REAL ROCK N ROLL! THE FOUNDATION WAS LAIDED BY THE LIKES OF THESE GENTLEMEN.THEY LIVED IT. THEY WROTE IT. THEY MADE U LIVE IT!!!! elvis never wrote any of his so called hit. what made him the so call 'king',he remade off these TRUE BLUES ROCK N ROLL(RACE MUSIC) ARTIST. i'm sorry THE GODS OF REAL HEART N SOUL. LEARN UR MUSIC BEFORE YOU! DAMMIT,IT'S RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU. HERE'S THE KICKER MR.CHUCK BERRY IS THE REAL,THE TRUE KING OF ROCK n' ROLL!!!!!! ya i said IT

  • This recording sounds sooo good!

  • bo sound great

  • bo is great

  • this is realy great!!!

  • There's also a banjo in the music, great version thanks for share

  • elvis is cool only because he had a lil soul. i mean,he is from memphis.

  • I don't think Jimi Hendrix ever toured with Muddy's band, but he did tour with Little Richard, Curtis Mayfield (the Impressions), and the Isley Brothers along with some others.

As for Elvis, his first release was a year before Chuck's first release. They were contemporaries if anything, and there are a lot of social reasons for Elvis become the biggest RnR star, more than just the music. Black artists like Chuck and Bo Diddley were swimming against the current in 1950's America.

  • @Odin029 elvis 1st release may have been before CHUCK BERRY's. it was A remake of BIG MAMA THOMPSON's "HOUND DOG". a BLACK(race) artist.that wrote by 2 JEWISH MEN. Like most of his of hits. elvis was the 1st of formulated star & music. CHUCK BERRY WAS and IT'S the TRUE KING OF ROCK n ROLL.

  • @capedcrusader730 What's the JEWISH got to do with anything? Any why the BIG LETTERS?

  • @capedcrusader730 First of all dude it was Big Mama Thornton not Thompson. Step back and Take a deep breath. When the settlers came to America, there were a lot of Scots-Irish that settled in the mountains of Appalachia. They brought their tunes and songs with them, when they finally came down from the mountains. They heard the African Americans singing their songs. Someone decided to take these rythyms and mix them Voila what we now know as country western was born.

  • @capedcrusader730

Then they added just a bit more rhythm and came up with Rock a Billy. Then if you take Blues and play it with a faster beat you get Rock and Roll. I doubt if we will ever resolve who did the first Rock song IE: Chuck Berry,Elvis, Bill Haley ETC.

  • real music !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @TilderyKoadil WTF you talkin about Jimi Hendrix? He was already a working artist when the Beatles came over. I think he even played the Chitlin Circuit with his band. You might want to clarify your statement....

  • Clarification: He played the Chitlin Circuit with Muddy's Band.

  • on the movie cadillac records chuck berry started rock n roll then he went jail and elvis came out n became king of rock. Is that true? Thats pretty sucky if it is? Americas come a long way in 50 years man were pretty Crappy back then. No Justice

  • greta...ye

  • i have little walters original on vynl too cool

  • bin to Mars and back and then some

    already

    coolest of Dudes

    are right here

    on Earth!!!

  • My band played at the Bo Diddley Historical Marker cermony presentation 2 weeks before he passed. I got one of two posters he signed for the event featuring my band. He actually got on stage and played air guitar. It was a great day in McComb, Ms. Long live Bo Diddley's sound.

  • This is one of the best albums ever made with the top 3 blues singers. I have this album and wouldn't trade or sell it ever.

  • pure greatness

  • all of yall people puttin down elvis, everyone is showed something, some showed bo diddley, who is dead and still making millions, elvis that is ,its not bo diddley,so elvis is king forever,bo is great, but dont put elvis down,he has so many songs and his music will always be heard around the world

  • @48perkins - I agree. Elvis Costello will definitely stand the test of time, and those who don't know that will never understand! ;-)

  • @48perkins more records and money for Elvis makes him the "king"? I opt for other standards for my musical royalties.

  • @48perkins more records and money for Elvis makes him the "king"? I opt for other standards for my musical royalties.

  • Really who is best Sonny Boy, Howling Wolf or Blues-Harper? youtube.com/watch?v=xq7hjhsPMlY

  • Love the gueeetar ! Bo Diddly we want some candy!

  • Love it!

Uber welcome difference from the crap floating around...

  • greatness as great as it gets grooooovin

  • Man this is coooool

  • @Swigzabrewski, really? Do you see the difference between blues and psychedelic rock?

  • @Swigzabrewski The doors plays on of those black musics, not just that but actually led zeppelin, Nirvana and almost all musician admitted it, even clapton only wanna talk with musician who knows robert johnson if not just forgot to speak with him....

  • Ahh shut up white guys!......Shut your mouth black guys!.....too much talking, dont let me hear the music

  • Original is the style. The black voice is different than Elvis. The Blues come from within.

  • @severnkenpo You do mean R & B (rhythm & blues) right? Not R & R (rest & relaxation)!!!

  • @severnkenpo elvis, stones and beatles admitted Berry was among the first musicians to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on its opening in 1986, with the comment that he "laid the groundwork for not only a rock and roll sound but a rock and roll stance..

  • Bo is greate RIP

  • muddy ,little walter che musica!!!!!!

  • Bo Diddley, Muddy Waters, Little Walter kings of blues

  • I think that Little Walter started the go-go rthym that became famous in the '60s.

  • Blues Kings

  • Handmade box guitar!

  • @justmusicandme Bo only used the guitar that he built (by taking the neck and electrics off a Gretsch and placing them on a square body he built) for less than a year. After that he commissioned Gretsch to build him another which he used for about 20 years. After that he had a custom builder in Australia design him a new one. So the one he is using here is NOT a "handmade box guitar". It is a professionally built custom guitar based on his original cannibalized design.

  • @MrDarkShadow64 Thank you for clearing that up! Bo Diddley was the best!

  • Elvis is king. But... Just a way for white Americans to keep their conscience clear for being taken over by the black men's music... (P.S. I'm not black or American)

  • Fred McDowell does a great version of this song, and in fact, he may have wrote it

in that Fred started playing blues bottleneck guitar around 1918,19 or 20...

Tragically and unpardonably stupidly the record business allowed this great album, SUPER BLUES, to go out of print

    once again...

  • 5*****, Played a gig in honor of Bo Diddly 2 wks before he passed. In McComb, Ms where he was born. Town honored him with hugh bronze plaque. He was weak but came on stage for 2 songs, signed 2 posters, I have one of them. Thanks for sharing. Sherrill

  • Anyone know where to get an original copy of this?

  • This is totally cool. I love the tape-echo on Muddy's guitar.

  • cool i've never heard this version before. i always thought it sounded too much like 'this train' by sister rosetta tharpe

  • elvis doesnt even compare. hell if it wasnt for forrest gump showing him how to dance he would of never been big haha

  • @Actionjax5

lol, still respect where respect is due...

  • See Ingsok reply 2 ReVox777 HaHa ! Ingsok is my alien name. Crazyhair is my Indian name. Guitar is my game !! This all in fun!!

  • @Actionjax5

You were kidding, right (and I am dense).....?

  • @Actionjax5 hell yeah :DDD

  • Little Richard was more influential in that area, anyways. And Angus Young got his moves from Chuck Berry.

  • @Actionjax5 I don't care who you are, that's funny :P

  • @Actionjax5 its better to know where to stop when u r talking :)

  • @Actionjax5 Lmao...Ikr.

  • @Actionjax5 YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hahaha

  • @Actionjax5 LMAO... I know thats right!

  • @Actionjax5 ...Do you not know how to pay an artist a compliment without insulting another. For the record..Elvis made people heart happy..no matter who wrote the songs..and like him or not everyone knows Who he is..

  • @Actionjax5 elvis is a horrible disgrace to music. He got popular off of immature little turtle dove girls and fancy hip moves. He got arrrested once for asking the president Nixon for a fake badge certifying him as a drug and narcotics agent of the US. Nixon had him arrested for it.

can you imagine being such a prestigious prick that you think you can waltz into the presidents office and ask him for a drug badge? What a jackass!

  • @SqueezeMyLemonBabe Uh, you should realy get your facts straight to avoid sounding like a little girl.

  • @cambro64

and so my facts are wrong, but your response didn't prove what I said wrong, all it did was retaliate in a negative way towards me because you didn't like what I said.

I'm just reporting what I read in a book, its not like I study that suicidal failure nor do I respect him enough to even care to.

  • @Actionjax5 That may be so on the first part, but consider this, how cool would it have been if Elvis got together w/ these guys often! The vocals just like this tune are so distinct, I can hear Elvis singing w/ these guys. Damn shame that didnt happen.

  • @MWFrontier Elvis LOVED THESE GUYS,,JUST LIKE WE DO.

  • THIS IS BO's PEAK---listen to the Fillmore recordings

  • Great rhythm section. Who is on drums?

  • No Who was on 1st. Then he formed a band. Keith Moon was on drums, with Who??

  • We stand on the shoulders of those who came before us. These artists originated the foundations of rock n roll! They didnt receive recognition til they were very old. Walter was already dead. They paved the road for future artists. I respect Elvis but he did use these other artists' music without permission! Honors to Eric Clapton for crediting his inspiration to these early creators!

  • @MdCitizen Everybody knew Elvis was doing "race" music. He wasn't pretending like he wrote it, he was just doing it his own way. A lot of Blues music is recycled, reused, redone, and passed around from one generation to another with little fanfare or credit. It doesn't mean that nobody respects or admires the pioneers.

Also, people have been doing Elvis' music for years without "permission". Music is a common language, and we all use it. :)

  • This is good discussion, & I don't mean any disrespect. Yes, Elvis credited them as inspiration, but must let you know both Muddy Waters and Little Richard publicly stated Elvis got away with copying their tunes way too closely. Elvis got rich, while they were not paid or even credited. Presley’s song “Trouble” sounded too closely like Muddy’s song “Hootchie Coochie Man." At that time the law was lax protecting artists’ original works. By today's standards, Elvis crossed the line--plagiarism.

  • @MdCitizen OMG I can't stand it sometimes,,,READ READ READ READ know the truth !!! Elvis made a lot of people rich ROYALTIES ROYALTIES ROYALTIES. Tony Joe White made more money from Elvis singing POLK SALAD ANNIE than he did AND HE WROTE IT. No wonder 0bama got all them votes,,,God help us!!!!!!

  • @MdCitizen I certainly wouldn't blame Elvis for getting rich. He found something that people wanted, and he did it better than anybody else. Or at least he was more commercially viable than anybody else. Elvis was an entertainer first and foremost. He wasn't a songwriter, he didn't design album jackets or write the credits. He was paid to perform, and that's what he did. I think Elvis really admired those that came before him, and would gladly give credit where it was due.

  • @MdCitizen Muddy himself copped an old Willie Dixon number, actually, for that one; Chuck Berry did the same; Leiber and Stoller based Trouble on thei Riot in Cell Block# 9 which used the same riff. Little Richard, of course, covered By the Light of the Silvery Moon. But Elvis and Chuck ended up putting all of these guys on the map to stay, plagiarism or not.

  • @MdCitizen I gotta admit - Lieber-Stoller's Trouble lyric was a big time improvement over Hoochie-Coochie Man.

  • @MdCitizen Many of those early artist made many ROYALTY CHECKS off Elvis using there songs. I think he did it sometimes as "pay back" just to help them. All those artists loved what Elvis did to further Rock & Roll.

  • @MdCitizen Amen Bro.

  • @MdCitizen What music did Elvis steal without permission? what songs besides Hound Dog from Big Mama.

  • @lefty5757 Hound Dog was a little more complicated than that. It was written by Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller for Big Mama Thorton in 1953, but it was recorded by 5 country singers the next year, and over 26 times by 1964. Elvis saw Freddie Bell and the Bellboys do it at the Sands Hotel in Las Vegas and decided to record it. Elvis' version ranks #19 in the Rolling Stones to 500 rock songs list, but Elvis haters can't come to grips with his greatness and have to try to slander him.

  • @MdCitizen I'm pretty sure Elvis had all the legal permission he needed to play these songs, hey, if everyone had to name all their inpsirations we'd be bored to death, and he did in many ways, hey, I don't like Elvis too much either even though I like 50's music a lot, but he was a good man when it comes to recognizing other artist's influence on him.

  • no disrespect intended, but its documented Muddy Waters and Little Richard complained Elvis got rich copying their music shamefully close. At that time, the law didnt protect these artists as it does today, & they didnt have access to good legal representation, as artists do today. Yes, it was good Elvis acknowledged them, but I'm not aware he ever legally settled with them or paid them for their music. Please let me know if there's evidence otherwise. Thanks.

  • @MdCitizen As you said yourself, times were different back then. But I have a feeling it wasn't Elvis' fault that they didn't get paid the way they should. But from what I've heard, Pat Boone's record company paid Little Richard every penny they should, and he was pissed at Pat Boone back in the days. I'm not too big on Elvis, so I can't say much in his defense.

  • @TheDJGrandPa BMI and ASCAP and sometimes EMI which are music publishing/licensing companies see that royalties are paid. Artists love it when someone else uses their song,,,THEY GET ROYALTIES. Don't fool yourself Little Richard loved it,,,I was a record promotion man for many years and in Radio many years. Don't believe the HYPE.
