Just curious what you ended up getting for this great guitar?

I'm kinda just scoping the mkt to see what I can pick one up for.

I see one on Ebay with a high bid of $255.

Did you revamp/repair the pickups?

what kind of amp are ya using, and effects pedal. i got my spectrum 4 last year, and want that old school sound

@bigduo99 I was playing through a Marshall Studio 15, which I think is the best amp I've ever played for the home, I since traded it in for a 59 Champ which was a mistake. The distortion pedal used was a ProCo RAT, which works great with feedback prone pickups because you can dial back the filter until the squeal stops. Have fun with the Spectrum!

If it's older it's probably a Kawai-they made tons of guitars in the 60's in Japan and about half aren't even marked.

I just got a Teisco Spectrum as well. Mine has 2 pickups though. The guitar is actually really great. One thing, it's interesting that people buy guitars that famous people use as if having the same guitar will somehow help them play better, write good songs, etc... Honestly, those people bought their respective guitars because they were poor and couldn't afford really expensive guitars. Even a great song will sound cool on a POS guitar.

Jack White plays (played?) an Airline Res-o-Glass. It was a $200 plastic guitar from the 60s/70s for beginners. Anybody can play an American Strat and make it sound okay. It takes a real guitarist to play a cheap, old, guitar and make it sing. Hound Dog Taylor was a blues guitarist who recorded his albums on Teisco guitars in the early 70s. This guitar is my dream guitar, and I'm damn set on learning to make it sing and weep with me when I get one.
