  • I have a Spectrum 220, not nearly as nice as the one in the video, but it's sweet. Through a cranked Fender is how these things sound best.

  • This guitar is so georgous!

  • That super bassie positon is pretty darn cool.

  • sounds great with distortion

  • I wonder how it would do with fuzz?

  • Hello LoFi,

Just curious what you ended up getting for this great guitar?

I'm kinda just scoping the mkt to see what I can pick one up for.

I see one on Ebay with a high bid of $255.

    Did you revamp/repair the pickups?

    Thanks for posting!

  • @saikidd

I'm real late here, I don't check youtube very often. It sold for around 400 if I remember right.

  • you didn't highlight the mute. Oh yeah I bought mine in the 70's for 15 bucks from a friend. Long gone and missed.

  • @shirtshine73blitz I used the mute, hard to listen to me till the end I suppose!

  • you didn't highlight the mute.

  • what kind of amp are ya using, and effects pedal. i got my spectrum 4 last year, and want that old school sound

  • @bigduo99 I was playing through a Marshall Studio 15, which I think is the best amp I've ever played for the home, I since traded it in for a 59 Champ which was a mistake. The distortion pedal used was a ProCo RAT, which works great with feedback prone pickups because you can dial back the filter until the squeal stops. Have fun with the Spectrum!

  • If it's older it's probably a Kawai-they made tons of guitars in the 60's in Japan and about half aren't even marked.

  • man got an unheard of guitar right now, can't identify it!!

  • Its a beautiful Git-box, I want a vintage style, with high distorted sounds, better pick-ups, that kinda deal

Im more of an alternative rock kinda feller, sonic youth, Nirvana, all that busisness.

  • @D0oD0oBrain You needa get urself a Jazzmaster. Thurston Moore, Stephen Malkmus, Nels Cline, the list goes on. Indie rock demands it.

  • I just got a Teisco Spectrum as well. Mine has 2 pickups though. The guitar is actually really great. One thing, it's interesting that people buy guitars that famous people use as if having the same guitar will somehow help them play better, write good songs, etc... Honestly, those people bought their respective guitars because they were poor and couldn't afford really expensive guitars. Even a great song will sound cool on a POS guitar.

  • Hello there, My names Desmond, Its funny how I was just crazy for this guitar when I saw it on Ebay 5 minutes ago, Now I must say, thats my dream guitar. Im 17, :P

  • @D0oD0oBrain - You've got good taste for a young'n. Keep playin and someday you'll be able to do even better than a Teisco I promise!

  • @LoFiTransmissions @your reply to D0oD0oBrain:

Jack White plays (played?) an Airline Res-o-Glass. It was a $200 plastic guitar from the 60s/70s for beginners. Anybody can play an American Strat and make it sound okay. It takes a real guitarist to play a cheap, old, guitar and make it sing. Hound Dog Taylor was a blues guitarist who recorded his albums on Teisco guitars in the early 70s. This guitar is my dream guitar, and I'm damn set on learning to make it sing and weep with me when I get one.

  • @thegravityplan3

I can actually make an American Strat sound pretty bad myself :)

    All a matter of opinion.
