You can tell he had a sore throat when they sing Buddy Holly and you notice the autotune when he sings Island In The Sun. @flesongo the drummer is their touring drummer josh freese who is a studio musician but also the drummer for, a perfect circle and the vandals. weezer's drummer would rather play guitar live at mist concerts, but still records the drums for cd's.

I love weezer. So I'm not hating, but this IS autotuned. The in-ears are just for their click track. They might have some mix in their ears, but then why would they ALSO have floor monitors? Listen to the runs in the bridge. You can hear it. No reason to hate though, tons of HUGE artists use Auto tune live. Better than just having loops do it such as bands like Muse (who I also love).

It's called singing ability. Some people actually have it without having to auto-tune themselves. Weezer's been at it for about 20 years, so it's no surprise they are this tight.

Notice the ear pieces in their ears, that is so they can hear themselves sing, and be on key. They also harmonize with their guitarist and bass player. They are all real ways to make your singing sound great.

I am going to have to disagree with you. This is not autotuned. This entire performance was most likely edited after the fact, and judging by the lack of modulation in the vocals this clearly is not autotuned. This was run through a program called melodyne. A much more serious program that allows anyone with pro-tools to change any note into anything they want. Good try though.

By autotuned I didn't literally mean the program "Autotune". I used the word autotune as a metaphor for any type of pitch correction. Its one of the most popular pitch correcting devices, so commonly, most people refer to pitch correction as "autotune". And in parts, you can hear where the voice becomes slightly modulated. AOL pitch corrects most of their artists. Good try though.

Its been a good 10 years of manufactured music. 10 years is a long time. You have kids that were born in the late 80's and early 90's who spent most of their teen age years with Britney Spears, Jonas Brothers on tv, raido and youtube. Now new or old artist like Weezer who have talent are just expected to be as fake as Britney Spears.
