These are the versions from the "Visualize" dvd (and the "Circus Comes to Town" bootleg. I get the idea of wanting to use versions that are different from the studio cuts to raise the difficulty of songs people have heard since 1983, but I don't understand why THESE live versions were made available; the "In the Round, In Your Face" performances were tighter and *faster* and Joe's voice didn't sound like he gargled semen throughout the show.

That's because those songs were recorded when Def Leppard were touring non-stop and Joe's vocals were getting overworked, hence the struggling vocal style.

Guitar Hero is a well designed game, don't get me wrong, but why not just get a real guitar to learn those songs? You can get a good starter guitar for the same price as the game. Just another product to create a false sense of accomplishment. "Give em something that doesn't require as much effort as the real thing". I'm not bashing CGR though, they do good reviews.

I play both Guitar Hero and a real guitar. Both are fun and both are different. It's like saying to people they should stop playing Call of Duty 4 and join the army. I also think that playing the harder guitar hero songs on the hardest difficulty is often a lot harder than playing the same song on an actual guitar, so 'less effort'? Not really.

The reason why they chose the live versions are because they wanted harder versions of the songs that people know. The live versions are much more technical than the studio recordings.
