i beat legacy, and it was fun, but i like the complexity of this one, it makes it a challenge, and takes a good several hours to beat. I felt like I actually acomplished some amazing feat when i beat this game
Having played about half of the game (and mind you, I watched all of these vids to BEGIN WITH)... I can say that this is a very badly done hack. The levels are intricate, but too much so; the rooms are gigantic and there is NO WAY you would be able to know all of the exits and secret walls without watching this. And the escape sequence... throwing Ridley in? Fucking up your timer? That's bullshit.
I like a lot of the tricks he used, but overall this is ridiculous. Try Legacy.
@Indacelio I agree completely. IMO this hack should be removed from the 'A-list'. You might be amused to know that the person playing in these vids, afaik, is the author of the hack. So ergo, the player in the video KNOWS WHERE EVERYTHING IS. You try playing this hack, you're going to get f*cked up the ass, badly. I consider myself a fairly good player, and getting past the bosses, to the countdown, is not especially hard. IF you know where to go. But you don't get the x-ray scope. Ever.
Yeah, it is; I found myself using rewinds and savestates to defeat Botwoon in Limit.
Here in GD, Ridley was simple: I realized all I needed to do was just stay where I was, and shoot his ass with the Hyper Beam, not caring if I got hurt. Though not the best for speed runs, I feel it is faster than having to follow him and shoot him.
Man, I had nightmares going through all that. Imagine running for your life without the timer to help you out. I felt it was worse than Redesign's escape sequence.
I counted 48 seconds left. I had to use a stopwatch to count, although it was inconsistent because of my internet's pause and door transitions. You should use a stopwatch as your guide.

Looks like a pretty cool (if impossible) hack.
I think throwing Ridley into the escape sequence was a bit over the top though.
