  • its def not plastic, its bacalite. and it seems to be jus like mine, 1954 is what i can gather.

  • it is not plastic ... it is Bacalite and is from 1953-1961

  • No help at allllllll

  • Awesome camera! You'll be pleasantly surprised at how sharp the pictures are!

  • Sweet! I collect old cameras and projectors. i just got this one today at a garage sale ^_^

  • you said she died just awhile ago like she was lying in the bed dead just in the next room and you're tickled pink to have her camera---

  • T have on identical, from my Grandmother, and it takes crystal- clear shots. As long as you have an old 620 spool for take- up, regular 120 spools work for the feed spool

  • Oh, I am so excited!!! I snagged one today at a thrift store, it has cracked and missing parts at the opening, but I can use electrical tape or whatever to seal it up so no light gets in. The lens is dirty; I may just leave it to get that ubercool grainy look and fake some old black and white photos with it. Oh, and it has two tiny holes on the side opposite the knob, one looks like it has threads in it, and the other is for...what? Can anyone tell me? Thanks, later

  • the holes are for the flash outfit.i recently bought one at an auction for $3.i got the camera(with flash and 3 bulbs)and a cine-kodak film splicer for both sound and silent movies.also,i looked it up on wikipedia, and it said it was from 1930-1933.i think you're right, though.

  • That ain't no pony! That's nategorga's great aunt!Only kidding nategorga!

Hey, what's so great about your aunt anyway? Great video!

  • Wow. WHERE DID YOU GET THAT GIANT PONY!?

  • I don't mean to sound rude, but that camera is made out of bakelite.

  • Introduced: May 1949

    Discontinued: July 1961

  • If you want to date this camera, use Kodak's code CAMEROSITY = 1234567890

Look inside for a code such as CAET which would translate to 1249 meaning the camera was made in December, 1949.

Yours has a metal knob, so it was probably made in the late 40s or early 50s.

  • Thanks for the code to date the camera's. I was able to date my brownie Hawkeye Flash Model. Mine was made in january 1953.

  • I Have a brownie camera from 1960s and it sucks that it doesnt have a viewfinder indside the camera ill post it

  • Have 2 of these with flash.Really fun to use.One can take 120 film.The other I have to re=spool 120 on to 620 reels.Quite easy.

  • Hey since I last left you a message I ran 35mm film through mine and it developed some cool pics. Of course there are a few things you need to know in order for it to work. Perhaps I will create a DIY video showing how to load and more importantly how to open it in a dark closet or room with no lights and roll the film back in the 35mm case so you don't expose the film and kill the roll.

  • Okay. Can you scan the pics you took?

  • @Nerol67 YOU PUT 35MM THRU A BROWNIE HAWKEYE??? IM IN LOVE!!!! SHOW ME HOW!! SHOW ME HOW!!!!!! I LOVE THIS CAMERA BUT I HATE 120!!!!! SERIOUSLY I NEEEEEEEEEDD TO KNOW HOW THIS IS DONE!!!!

  • You have a great camera in your hands. I just shot a roll of 120 film through the one I just picked up (in the box) at a yard sale and it worked well. Might need some cleaning on the lens. If you read some message boards on how to do it you can use it too. Good luck. My finished photos are at flickrdotcom under user lslphoto, then search my hawkeye pics.

  • Thanks. Any idea on how much it's worth?

  • i have on of these. i havent gotten film fo rit yet but i plan on it.
