  • I want this video on my M33 unit.

  • HAHAHA I had no idea this ever ACTUALLY got posted on OC Remix! I'm Teagan Kelk and this was the first track I ever produced.

P.S. I do have a DJ name, it is Teaganbear.

  • why is it that when i listen 2 this i picture bowser rolling up in a car windows shaking from the bass and steps out in sunglasses b4 taking on mario

  • so Krazy!! xD

  • Basic leads and bland instruments show that he put very little work into production. I admit the composition is pretty good, but the remix as a whole is completely unworthy of OCR.

  • @pokemoneinstein you are absolutely right about the little work into production part

  • Not a fan of dubstep, so I assume since its not 100% dubstep, that's why I like it.

  • The dubstep was implemented the wrong way, could have been better.

Doesn't mean this song isn't good or catchy. Because it is.

  • @ChrisCa1601 Mario: nehehehe Pun!

  • lol @ dubstep haters.

lol @ snobby dubstep fans that try to explain what "real" dubstep is.

  • Needs more wob, obviously.

  • Bowser: "NO!!! It's a chain reaction!!"

  • @ChrisCa1601 this deserves top-rated comment imho

  • I wouldn't listen to this on a regular basis, but I don't hate it.

  • This isn't dubstep. Has some moments that would be cool in a dubstep track though.

Despite this not being a actual dubstep track I like it. Nice energy and ofcourse cool to hear Fight Against Bowser in it.

  • This is awesome, whoever made this has some sick rhythm/is super gifted .

  • @Yardomaster thank you, i appreciate that. :)

  • I really liked it. The entire song definitely isn't dubstep, but there are still a lot of dubstep elements in parts.

  • I liked it, dubstep or not. People just love to hate and criticize others work. You make your own song, see how that goes!

  • @I1KonArtis1I thats right bitches, well be the judges of yo shit

  • I did not like this video to begin with. Did not even know this is what dubstep music sounds like.

  • @NathanWubs it's not really what typical dubstep sounds like

  • Love it! I love how you incorporated the source tune into this one, and it's still dubsteppy and nostalgic at the same time. Woo~

  • I Love Dubstep... But I Don't Really Like This One I'm Afraid :(

  • @CustomWeapon That's Okay But I Worry About Your Typing Habits, Friend

  • @teagankelkmusic I used to type like that. Then I took a grammar to the knee.

  • I don't hate dubstep, but I feel this particular remix falls short of it. Basic analog sounds do work in dubstep, but they gotta be processed more. The drums pick up after 1:35, though.

  • I completely agree with @NikeXTC.

I liked it a lot. I guess haters gonna hate.

  • I really don't get how it could get so many dislikes... It's a very good song.

  • @NikeXTC I think its because alot of Youtubers are kind of split about it rather than completely hating on it. I liked parts of this remix myself, even though Im not a dubstep fan myself. Still, I wouldnt listen to this all day.

  • @KitsuneDzelda I'm not a dubstep expert either, but it's a genre I like a lot, and this song is a very good dubsted song to me. That's why I like it. If it were a song made on a style I don't like (say, rap), I wouldn't dislike it... I just wouldn't listen to it cause it doesn't appeal to me. I'd dislike it if I reconize it was a bad song in ITS genre. Well, haters gonna hate. Amen.

  • I like this ReMix. also because I listen to Deadmau5 and other artists who produce electronic music.

  • I know hating on Dubstep is the trendy thing to do but as im unfamiliar with dubstep but i thought this was pretty catchy, i didnt have any trouble recognizing what themes it was supposed to be.

  • My mom like this, so it can't be all bad.

  • I guess some people got thwacked in the head as a child, knocking out the neurons required to allow true appreciation of all music.

  • ...i like the non-dubstep parts

  • As far as dubstep goes, I actually like this quite a bit. There are a variety of sections with different styles; it's not a wub-wub/boom-crash-fest throughout, so it actually holds my interest, unlike most stuff in the genre. And I do hear the source throughout most of the track.

  • The problem is this is a very unsophisticated attempt at dubstep, just doesn't sound well produced enough.

  • Dubstep is so generic turd you cant even recognize what song its meant to be mixed out of. I'm sorry, first actual dislike on ocremix, other times I would've just closed the thing and moved on but please just no.

  • Despite some production shortcomings, there is some quality arrangement here:

    0:00 clearly defines the style

0:49 nice drop and change of style, the fast and light dub-step wabbles sound good, the previous slow ones were a bit overwhelming

    0:59 engaging progression

    1:35 contrasting section

    1:46 extra dissonance

2:03 neat transition and synth solo

2:36 reprise of sorts, works well

3:15 I like those tenor chords, very warm sound

    3:21 ending was structurally satisfying

  • Yeah, sorry, I like dubstep, but this wasn't good dubstep; the parts of the song without the bass were much better.

  • love love love looooooooooooooove dubstep!!!!!!

  • If you don't like wubstep gtfo and don't listen. Stop leaving hate.

  • I love dubstep. Give me some of that BWA WAH WAH WAH

  • *Starts*

    *Pauses 0:05*

    *Comments, leaves*

  • @TeamDataDrain Aw come on, it's not that bad.

  • @TeamDataDrain Copies what TeamDataDrain did.

  • dont like dubstep :(

  • Ugh, I heard Dubstep and immediately Muted it. At least the video was nice. The Music... Well, this is the first time I actually watched the video on OC Remix...

  • ya know, i liked the zelda one from the same author....cause it makes feel high

  • @tripelon to which author are you referring?

  • @teagankelkmusic PrototypeRaptor

    Look "nullification ocremix" on searcher

  • jeez, buncha old farts xD

  • Seems like dubstep is a love or hate thing... I thought it was an ok song even though I'm not the biggest fan of dubstep. I'm also not sure why a lot of people say the original song isn't in it whatsoever... I wonder if they actually ever played the game? Because the original is pretty clear and it's probably the main reason I like it... Anyway, good job to the artist, but not my cup of tea. :)

  • I don't mind it being dubstep, but this is just wub wub wub and no music.

  • @UberLithen Did you even get to 0:56?

  • @VeritasUnae It's comments on music like this that kinda irritate me. If over a fourth of the song doesn't catch your attention then there's a good chance the rest of it probably won't either. Don't get me wrong, I'm a firm believer in listening to a whole song even if I don't like it that much, but if the beginning doesn't catch someone's attention then why should they stay for the rest? The same if true for anything really. It's up to the artist to make sure that the whole song is interesting.

  • @Inzeost I found the beginning captured me well enough to warrant further listening. Often with music and me, I find that as long as it has some semblance of coherency then I have no troubles sticking with it until the end. If people left a concerto before it was over because they disliked the first movement, I would find it odd. That's just me, though.

Also, I meant 0:48, where a more prominent melody enters. Before that, though, there is certainly music. His premise is factually faulted.

  • @VeritasUnae Yes, i listened to the whole thing, there are some pieces in there that are ok, but most of it is just generic wub wub.

I do not mean to hate on the artist and his work, but i do not like this song at all.

  • I love the SMRPG Soundtrack, and I love dubstep, but sadly this is not one of the better iterations of a mix between the two.

It has a LOT of potential, but it either seems like it's trying too hard to be dubstep, or it didn't try enough, it doesnt really capture a BIG BAD KOOPA feeling either, as the major part where the breakdown occurs at 1:34 kind of just gets random with sirens and modulation.

That's how I feel anyways, this is all Opinion of course.

  • I saw "Dubstep", so I was happy, then I listened the music... But I'm kinda disappointed. Usually, the Dubstep isn't that bad.

  • Wow. This video's comments have some of the weakest reasons for dislikes. What the fuck people?

I like this mix even though I am not a big fan of dubstep.

  • Not a fan of WUB WUB WUB WUB either.

  • Definitely not my favorite, but it doesn't suck. dj wouldn't pass off a song that was completely terrible.

  • Man, I don´t understand what people have against dubstep! One of the comments says it´s "just noise", have you listened to music composed from the 50´s to 2000´s? You´ve got a lot of hellicopter and chainsaw concerto´s, now that´s ridiculous! Dubstep is obviously not just noise. Sorry for the rant!

  • Amazing.

  • I really don't like the sounds for this one.

  • kinda cool. but disliked cuz its nothing like the original

  • @ocremix Dubstep won't appeal to everyone, you're supposed to dip a toe in not throw them in head first.

  • Instead of Bowser this makes me think of Mario Party 3's Millenium Star Battle. This is not a bad thing at all!

  • why so much hate?

  • @jackerx5 It's dubstep, that's why. Also, it doesn't sound like Mario RPG anymore...

  • @kylehyde28 I thought that was the point of this site - to take something known and morph it into something new and inventive.

  • @VeritasUnae I wouldn't say "morph," but rather to preserve the music like it used to while re-interpreting it through remix. This doesn't really have the same feeling as the original, so it's pretty much frowned upon. Also, not many of us here likes dubstep. It's not bad to use dubstep, but when used wrong, it sucks and ruins the original music that made it awesome.

  • @kylehyde28 If people don't like dubstep, you'd think they'd be deterred by 'Dubstep' in the title. But nevertheless, at least to me I could hear the original song. In some other tracks I haven't been able to pick any part of a previous motif that was from the original yet people rave about it. I suppose it's a double edged sword lying upon a two way street.

  • @VeritasUnae Or that. I, and some others, don't really like dubstep, so it's easy to see why we don't really like this remix.

  • @VeritasUnae I'm having trouble combining those analogies... so all the cars get their tires popped and crash? meaning... that people who think about this analogy will become confused and give up?

  • @starseekerX7 It was a joke analogy in juxtaposition. It's not meant to be gotten, no.

  • *Looks at comments* Meh, hipsters gonna hip.

Though I will agree that this wasn't as good as it could've been. Not because it WAS dubstep, but because it wasn't all that well implemented, and the WUB was kinda overpowering. Still, the arrangement is sound, and it's not repetitive or doesn't overstay its welcome; there's too much good in this mix to haphazardly pass up simply because of the style.

  • I misread the video title. At first glance, it said "Bad Dubstep"

  • sounds like my PC speaker is having diarrhea, please no more stuff like this.

  • I have to be honest, listening to this makes me feel really bad for all of the quality tunes/artists that have been rejected by the judges in the past, including a number of incredible DJ Siamey remixes. Nullification by PrototypeRaptor should be the standard for dubstep-vgm remixers...meanwhile, this sounds like something made by a complete newbie tinkering with NI Massive and FL Studio default percussion.

Sorry for the brutal honesty. Good luck on future productions Teagan.

  • I find it somewhat enjoyable at best. I'm not going to say the song was "killed by dubstep", but I'm along with many of the others not very fond of the part between 1:38 - 2:04. The wubbetywub in the beginning I'd like to say that I could go without, but that would just take out too much for it to really feel like a complete work. The part from about 2mins is great however.

All in all, not my cup of tea. I suppose I'm becoming a grouchy old man that doesn't understand the kids today's music.

  • Some nice synth sounds, but the mix was a little sparse, especially in the really hard sequences.. Could've done with some pad elements and maybe a little less punch. Pretty good overall.

  • wow killing a great song with this horrible dub step wat a shame

  • I thought good dubstep had a buildup before the wub wub? This ain't dubstep. This is noise with a weak beat.

  • Ruined.

No offence to whoever remixed this, but dubstep is just noise.

Take out the dubstep crap and this song coulda been pretty good.

  • More Dubstep please, thank you.

  • Wow, that's a lot of dislikes. I don't see what the problem is. It's a remix, not the original music. In otherwords, I like it.

  • Really disliked the song until 2:06, and then I really liked it.

  • everything is dub step and i just don't get it. i think i'll stick with regular mixes (and yea i do have a few favs of dubstep but i still don't get it lol)

  • I'll most likely be downloading this when I get my music all situated! Liked and Faved!

  • You have failed! Next time, follow PrototypeRaptor's example before you try Dubstep on #ocremix again.

  • @HoneycombAgent i will check him out, thanks for the tip ;)

  • I liked this remix a lot, especially the dubstep bits :D

  • When the melody is playing I like it, but there's some sections that aren't that fast-paced like the original, and they're really boring. Dubstep can be epic when done well, as this is in a few parts, but as a whole it's really not that good.

  • No Thanks.

  • Well I like it. It still sounds like Bowsers castle and it still has a badass beat.

  • love

  • Good stuff!

  • ... only good part 1:00 - 1:38 the rest sound bad :(

  • Hate it =\. Sorry

  • @RedT00NLink don't be sorry bro, no worries

  • I like all of it except 1:38 - 2:00.

  • Let me tell you, there is nothing funny about these sounds.

What that person on your tape has is a medical disorder.

  • Well, i was fine with this untill 1:30 where it literally started to sound like ass. : \

At least i learned that "Dubstep" is just slow techno.

Calling it "Dubstep" however just sounds retarded. >_>

  • @Billaxle lol, i wouldn't listen to sonow3, he is just an angry idiot who doesn't know what he's talking about. this track is not really dubstep because it doesn't follow the "formula" of a dubstep song.

but this is art. fuck formulae

  • mother of god, it's all toilet sounds!

  • Haven't heard the original track, but as much as I like dubstep, the bouts of bass wobble often seemed so out of place. The biggest offenders for me was the intro and the bridge startin around 1:33. I liked the bass wobble on the part that starts at 0:48.

I'm not what sure I'd change to make it better. But I think I'd have appreciated a nice good ol bassline for much of the bass wobble.

  • You had me at dubstep. <3

  • DUBSTEP IS FUCKING GAY. SLOW TECHNO IS RETARDED.

  • @sonow3 Here's a hint: Press the back button.

  • @sonow3 This isn't techno dude...It's dubstep. techno is a completely different genre of electronic music. If you're gonna hate, get your facts straight so you don't look as much like retard.

  • @TheKayasto Hah. You're the one who's retarded. Dubstep was BORN from Techno. Dubstep IS slow techno. Nothing will change that. Techno IS the genre. YOU. FUCKING. DICKWEED.

  • @sonow3 Dubstep is just electronic music, it may be related to Techno is some way but all electronic is related to each other in some way. House, Drum and Bass, techno, hardcore/happy hardcore, trance, dubstep, electronica they're all electronic music and a genre on their own. Do you even listen to enough electronic music to know what you're talking about?

Also, what's with the cursing? There's no need for that to get your point across.

  • @TheKayasto Oh my god. Kid, did you spend all night looking up shit on Wikipedia? And you're still wrong? They are all under the same god damn genre! They all originate from Techno, therefore, they are all under Techno.

  • @sonow3 No my good sir, I just know what the fuck i'm talking about.

They are under the same genre, you're correct about that, but the genre they all are under and originate from is Electronic. Techno is one of the many that I mentioned that split up the electronic genre.

techno.org/electronic-music-guide/ there's a place for electronic noobies like you should visit. It's very helpful and as you will see, techno is split off from the other genre's of electronic music listed there.

  • @TheKayasto So what, did you just look that up for yourself? This random website?

  • @sonow3 Electronic Music contains sub-genre roots which include Techno/Trance/Electro/House/Drum and Bass/Dubstep/Hardstyle/Gabber/etc. Quit arguing, Techno is a Genre that is a sub-genre to the Electronic category and Dubstep is also a sub-genre to Electronic. They are not in any way whatsoever derived from one another. Unless, of course, you have an artist that composes music including elements from both genres.

  • @Meonly70 THANK YOU! IT'S ABOUT TIME I GOT SOME BACK UP ON THIS!!!!

  • @sonow3 nope, I've known about it for a few years now.

  • @sonow3 Look up Dubstep on Wikipedia, if thats where you read your sources. I bet you it will say it derived from Drum and Bass. Dubstep and Drumstep both came from Drum and Bass, they are slower versions of Drum and Bass, NOT Techno. Its about half as slow if I remember correctly.

  • @Meonly70 I would argue that it originates from Reggae

You'll notice that a lot of the older stuff sounds more reggae-ey

and as it progressed, it became more DnB-ey

then someTechno sounds got mixed in

  • @Gendo3s2k Every genre has its own styles, but it varies completely with the artist. It can have techno elements to it, or it can not. I wouldn't disagree that Reggae influenced Dubstep either (shit if I got high and tried making a song, It would sound like Dubstep haha)

  • @Meonly70 Calling all electronic music techno is like calling all rock music from the 50's to now "metal". It just won't make sense that way. By the way I use the word "techno" when I can't find a good classification for another electronic genre. It seems to be a "try-catch-finally" term lol.

  • @ccricers I know, I was trying to explain that songs can have Techno elements to them, but that doesn't really make them Techno, and all Genres like Techno/Trance/Dubstep/etc. are sub genres to Electronic.

  • very dubstep like and i like it

  • sorry not a fan.... i wish i could get used to it but .... i cant like this this song when that.. wavy stuff comes on

  • I think Mario an Bowser are happy bouncing to this... as am I!

  • I just posted a commet on someone's status about dubstep and then this showed up in my sub box...d'oh!

  • Muito bom!

  • YES !

  • I'm not a fan of dubstep, but everything else in this remix was pretty good actually.

  • WOBWOBWOBWOBWOBWOBWOBWOBWOBWOBWOBWOBWOBWOBWOBWOBWOBWOBWOBWOBWOBWOB

  • Insert inevitable dubstep is horrid and ruins "good" music comments here.

  • @xOmniCloudx I'm not a big fan of dubstep but I like this remix. It's not too harsh.

  • @xOmniCloudx well....it's true....LOLOLOL!!!!!!

  • @WolfSyndrome Opinions have never been truth LOLOLOL!!!!!!!!

  • @xOmniCloudx pshhhhh...details details

  • not bad, not great. But worth a listen!

  • Unexpected, but very nice!!!

  • OK then. lol

  • um ok
