  • Who recorded me flying my R/C Helicopter -__-

  • What a well job the pilot did land in that feild, he/she save lives

  • thats how my helicopter flies in GTA IV

  • Someone invent a variable thrust tail booster for if the tail rotor fails. Just hit a big red button and let a directional giro control the thrust while making a quick landing. Another mad idea of mine no doubt.

  • I fly helis and I doubt if this happened to me I'd have any idea what was where when spinning like that - so either very lucky or very skilled that he landed in the open area

  • Tail Rotor Failed making the Helicopter Spin. R.I.P Pilot he died a Hero by Landing it in the Middle of the Field.

  • O piloto morreu O reporter nao .

  • Looks like it had mallfunction in the small propel at the back, and couldnt stear, and lost controll.

  • Did they die?

  • @0DoE0 the pilot did but the cameraman survived badly injured

  • how the hell did the pilot find that field to crash land in? he did a damn good job in my opinion

  • @dc110574 luck :(

  • You could see that the whole helicopter is amazingly intact just the second it hit the ground so it held together but the next second one rotorblade cut trough a huge part of the front and probably decapitate the pilot.

  • I'd bet turbine failure, which was probably explosive and severed the tail rotor driveshaft. Within seconds the turbine experienced overspeed and disintegration, followed by impact. That's what the visible signs indicate to me. That's my wager.

  • its probably better that the helicopter landed in the river than on the road

  • Looks like he's dumping the fuel moments before the crash (clouds of smoke) If that smoke is fuel being dumped that would explain why the heli did not catch fire on impact.

  • @kennysandhoj He shutdown the engines. In a loss of tail rotor thrust emergency, you shutoff the engine(s) to stop or slow the rotation of the aircraft due to torque effect. That was more than likely the puff of smoke in the video. You also saw that the aircraft slowed it's rotation at that point.

Modern helicopters have breakaway fuel lines that are designed to stop the spillage of fuel and reduce the possibility of post crash fires in case something like this happens.

    R.I.P. to the pilot.

  • @hawk7187 Autorotation should work even if tail is gone i guess but it doesnt seem that that is used since the drop isnt slower at all?

  • @dtiydr It will work if tail rotor (T/R) thrust is gone. The reason he dropped so fast is because he was already at a low airspeed and in a near vertical descent. Had he been lower and at that airspeed, it wouldn't have been so bad but T/R's can seize anytime at any altitude. Sometimes, without warning. Ideally, we would enter an auto when we have good airflow over the vertical stabilizer to help keep the nose pointed straight ahead and to get the best glide distance and lowest rate of descent.

  • @hawk7187 Ah yes i forgot about the forward speed, thanks for the explanation.

  • @dtiydr No problem.

  • Superb piece of flying... you can see the transmission engine disintegrate with the plumes of smoke

  • I wonder what killed him..Spinal fracture?

  • Why do all these videos have no fucking sound?

  • @DorkusMajor90 What did you expect crashing noise from a long distance camera or someone saying oh shit in the background?

  • Pro choice....hmmmmmmm. hard tarmack or soft grassy patch. Smart choice!

  • Not a total loss. He can sell the nav lights on Ebay

  • first time i see a helicopter crash without it beeing an explotion.

  • it landed on justin bieber. That's why the people were hurrying to the crash.

  • @benmummyzxc Would you just die please or come up with something better this shit old!

  • @vexviper Would you just go to hell or come up something more polite than this offensive comment?

  • @benmummyzxc Ok I will be polite and tell you to kindly fuck off! Take your Bieber bashing old as time it'self jokes elsewere.

  • Dude got lucky

  • i thought i was gonna get ricked rolled

  • I'll dumb down the technical terms here, the device that goes round and round stopped abruptly forcing the helicopter body to assume the role of round and round. Between the dizzy spells and the vomit I am surprised the operator could see at all to find that grassy patch.

  • @deadmanprodinc I'm a pilot & understand helicopters, why the tail rotor loss causes what we see here, BUT I'm not sure of one thing, is it possible to have any amount of directional control after tail rotor loss? People are saying "great he went to the grassy patch," but I'm saying he just happened to be over that patch.

  • @ProChoiceJesus I agree with you. I am not a helo pilot but understand their operation real well. Loss of tail rotor pretty much makes you a top spinning in the air. He just happened to be over that soft spot when it went down. Now if he had a lot more forward momentum I could see a possible auto rotation but in a hover your at the mercy of physics and good ole gravity.

  • @ProChoiceJesus I think you're right... (not that I'm an expert ) once the tail rotor is lost there's nothing you can do to save it, apart from get it on the ground asap. if the engine fails it can auto-rotate down, the grass was pure luck I recon and no lesser an impact than with tarmac I like those choppers with a turbine blast at the back instead of the tail rotor, but if you loose the engine maybe the same would happen? ... my head hurts now lol !

  • @JosiasRivera .. The anti-torque to keep tracking straight. This is especially effective at VminD. It is possible (after specialist training) to land safely. I know I've done the training. Alternatively you can close the throttle and autorotate. No engine=No torque therefore no need for a tail rotor. Not having a tail rotor is not the best but under the right circumstances and after training all hope is not lost.

  • @JosiasRivera I do not mean to insult you but I think you'll agree many people comment on things they know nothing about as if they are an expert. I don't believe you are completely correct. The horizontal stab provides a downwards force as it is an upside-down wing. This raises the nose in forward flight. The vertical vin off loads the tail rotor in forward flight reducing the anti-torque requirements of the tail rotor. If in forward flight the tail rotor is lost the vertical fin can provide t

  • @JosiasRivera Are you a helicopter pilot or just a wannabe school boy?

  • @mcharles64 helicopter mechanic for over 10 years, and have my private in rotorwing. Why so quick to insult, just answering a question.

  • Rest easy bro...

  • CHOPPER WAS LOW OIL- DIS WAS THE TRAGEDY

  • WOW!!! THE PILOT WAS DOW N FALL TO GARDEN.. INCREDIBLE

  • Wow that was some masterful piloting. I kept expecting to see it smash into a house or the freeway but he somehow managed to hit that tiny strip of grass.

  • Did the pilot die from blunt force?Jesus that would be insane.

  • May the pilot R.I.P. He (or she) did a good job of bringing that bird down on a field rather than on someone's house.

  • @Erictheirritated It is possible to land a chopper without a tail rotor. depending on your airspeed at the time of the failure you can fly around all day without a tail rotor. Have you ever wondered what the vertical fin is for?

  • @mcharles64 The Vertical fin aids in turbulance. The horizontal stabilator helps keeps the bird stable in forward flight. But as far as landing without the tailrotor in op, there's little hope. This pilot did a marvelous job in preventing further deaths, but without the counter torch produced by the tail rotor he couldn't do much unfortunately. Physics win over. Notice how the helicopter significantely began to spin slower and less right before impact? Indicating a full down collective. RIP bro!

  • Poor pilot, he did well controlling it to crash in the plain grass area instead of crashing in one of the houses and possibly cause more deaths/injuries.

  • Well look at that... its still got electricity.

  • is the helicopter ok?

  • it never exploded like it does in der movies ha ha ha.

  • fair play he managed to avoid landing on the motorway and killing anyone else. it could have looked a lot worse.

  • Wow, that chopper hit hard. Looks like it lost the anti-torque control. Once it began spinning, auto-rotation was an impossibllity. You can't auto-rotate going straight down.

  • @DougDaCosta I have the same problem in the morning.

  • oooh what dose tthis button do NONONONO WAIT wwaowaowaowaowao LIFT USS UP BEFORE WE CRASCH U SO OF A BI*** Hmmm .. i thnk this is this button nooo thats the smoke button FSSS WE GONNMA CRASCH AAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH BOOM hey that wazent that bad i just got some serios ejuries pilot pliot are u there piloot AW DAMMIT hes dead

  • R.I.P to the pilot who saved people by crashing on an open field

  • poor helicopter

  • No news today...

    Lets make some =P

  • Very hard impact must have been very painful .

  • R.I.P. Pilot

  • This guy was obviously skilled, probably learned how to fly a helicopter on GTA.

  • This is how my helicopter looks when I control one in a game

  • my rc helicopter does this.

  • something you dont see everyday wait i see that everyday

  • looks like GTA helicopter crash ( not trying to be funny )

  • Thats what happends when you loose your tail rotor and not enough height to drop he stick and make a power off landing. The poor pilot had no choice where he landed in that situation your just going down and very fast and hard.

  • this is what happens when you learn how to fly a helicopter on Saints Row

  • Sad for the pilot, but his skills are seen here. He managed to crash in an empty field and not the houses a few meters away.

  • @doubblejj1 Then pay a subscription.

  • @doubblejj1

And the bandwidth, servers and everything should be paid for with _________________.

    Fill in the blank.

  • @doubblejj1 Call of Duty MW5

  • @doubblejj1 I couldn't agree more. I would also like to add that commercials don't belong on the INTERNET. Plenty of that garbage on t.v.

  • @doubblejj1 above all when it's a sad video where ppl die or suffer , to make money with these scenario is just a shame

  • Given the height that control was lost on video (around 500ft?) and the virtually vertical descent, with little horizontal movement in any direction, it seems to me that the pilot had no control of where he was going and that it was very fortunate that there was open ground below rather than he was aiming for it.

We could ponder that he positioned himself over the area whilst he had control.

    MJB

  • AS SEEN ON GTA4

  • the pilot did welll in my eyes to find and land on a patch of clear land

  • @TommyCaff

Unfortunately the pilot didn't do so well. Investigation has shown that the pilot spent more time than he should, trying to take the heli to the airport instead landing as soon as possible.

  • @TommyCaff I think that where he crashed is more a matter of luck than pilot control. There is little that the pilot can do once he's lost the tail rotor.

  • @TommyCaff Plus they're lucky it didnt ingnite :S

  • @TommyCaff How you 57 guys know he had control of the Heli? Did you talk to the pilot? I don't think so...

  • Or it was the turbine hot section failing from the extreme overtemp from overtorquing the engine while panicking and trying to keep altitude.

  • I'm a brazilian student-pilot. I was flying the day this happend. and near the crash.

  • The Pilot died in this crash, but the cameraman survived. This was a new's helicopter filming traffic or something. They had a problem with the tail rotor, the pedals didnt seem to work, noone knows what happen'd specificlly but the pilot never tried to do the "running landing" and a lil flare at the end, maybe an autorotation. The real truth is that he saw an open field (where horses run) and decided to try and land there, unfortunantley the cyclic enterd the piulots jaw and into the brain.

  • Obviosly the tail rotor drive failure. Just wander why the pilot didn't cut power at the first sign of trouble and prevent rotation like this? Power off landings (at least simulated) are practiced on your early days of helicopter training.

  • what goes up must come down

  • CLANTON BROTHERS....ARE YOU KIDDING ME? THE CAMERAMAN WAS TRAINED TO ASSIST THE PILOT IN AN EMERGENCY? THE SMOKE WAS SMOKE NOT LIQUID AND NO HELICOPTERS OF CIVILIAN MANUFACTURE CAN NOT JETTISON FUEL. NOT ALLOWED. GO BACK TO POTATO FARMING AND LET THE HELICOPTER PILOTS SPEAK SENSE HERE. I WASNT THERE GENIUS BUT GUESS WHAT...A TAIL ROTOR FAILURE OF MECHANICAL NATURE CAN HAPPEN TO ANYONE AND WE ARE ALL TRAINED TO DEAL WITH IT. GO BACK TO CROP FARMING CLANTON BROTHERS...LEAVE HELICOPTER THEORY ALONE

  • our apache is down

  • so thats why helicopters are sometimes called "whirly-birds"...oh ok, i get it now lol.

  • Only the cameraman has survived a record field goals in the network he would like to be a pilot.

  • I was expecting a huge explosion...

  • @ThunderIzking that's usually hollywood... usually :P

  • ...the pilot got a ticket for ROFLCOPTER

  • totally controlled & safe landing...hahahahahaha

  • is the grass ok?

  • @Kamenos4ever auto tora ti itan re blaka?eksupnada...paniblaka

  • @damakias20 ??? english please

  • im from brazil and both of them died in the crash. Non of them survived

  • @RedBird1997

Que merda voce disse? O piloto morreu seu idiota, o cameraman sobreviveu. Larga a mão de ser otário e leia mais jornais. Voce nem sabe o que aconteceu pelo visto.

  • @CRISTIANO3MEDIA i dont understand you.. english please..

  • No they didnt survive,it was one camera men and a pilot. It was all over the news in brazil since sao paolo has so many business man now using air taxi.

  • SAO PAOLO aff!!!! até meu irmão sabe escrever certo!!!

  • DAM one just crashed here in TUCSON, All the plp that were in the heli died in the hospital cuz of the burns. R.I.P

  • fuck anybody else tired of this damn allstate advertisement? fuck!

  • Brazil is in America. South America to be more precise. So Brazilians are Americans, aren't they?

  • R.I.P.

  • IS SÃO PAULO... IMAGENS: REDE GLOBO

  • Hey, at least the tail lights still works.

  • i watched that crash on live, that was the news helicopter of the Record News, the crash image was recorded by the news helicopter of Rede Globo, while it was returning to the studio, the place where the Record news helicopter fell is the country club of São Paulo.

  • Wouldn't it be a liitle frightening to watch a helicopter crash, from another helicopter?

  • Normally when you loose your tail rotor, you might be entering immediatly in autorotation to avoid this. Good pilot ? I'm not really sure of that... On panic, well, absolutly !

  • @heretiik, go suck a dick and die, you fucking cunt

  • Idiot American? Sao Paolo is in Brazil DUMB ASS!!!

  • @Adam0691234

    You're right of course.

However, go out and ask 100 completely random people where you live where Sao Paolo is and I bet 10% at most know it's in Brazil. A lot of them have probably never heard of this city, which happens to have 11 million inhabitants.

Although people everywhere in general hardly excel when it comes geography you Americans really know next to nothing when it comes to where to find other countries on a map. Senior high school students think Spain is in Mexico.

  • @McLarenMercedes Theres a post on this site where some people go out on the street in the US with a blank World map and ask various people to point out random countries. One guy is asked to point out N and S Korea. For the first he touches Australia and for S Korea he tags New Zealand..................

  • @McLarenMercedes thats fine. probably the one fact that would be completely useless to us .

  • Thats just sad.

  • that could have been alot Worse. alltho i sopose if it were an RAF bloke it might not have happened. idiot American

  • @Heretiik ..... First of all..you tried to be a smart-ass by saying "idiot American"..let me explain something to you..This was Brazil MORON..... thats in SOUTH AMERICA....secondly, your profile video of you playing drums is the WORST! you call that playing??.???. my nephew is better then you and hes TEN years old!!. listen, you're a terrible drummer, so give them up (you'll never be anything) and go back to school and LEARN GEOGRAPHY!!! Seems u need help in that area too!

  • Tail rotor failure

  • now that i've watched this three or four times, i can't help but think the doors were designed to break away like that. anyone know?

  • holy shit, that was some INCREDIBLE piloting, it's a damned shame he's gone.

  • o my god thats really nasty poor pilot and cameraman but its amazing how i tcomes down on that field and not u n the serounding buildings the last thing the pilot did was saving the lives of more people RIP

  • would be interesting to see video tape from inside of the choppa

  • If your helicopter isn't broken, it will be. Shame about the pilot, he did a great job til the end.

  • I'm Brazillian, this was Record helicopter (Record is a tv channel here) and the heli that recordeed was Globo one.(Another channel). The Pilot died, and the camera man was badly injuried. After the crash, the Globo pilot landed on the field (that actually is a Horse Race Field) got to the crashed pilot and shut down the engine and fuel pump. i didn't watched it live but I saw on the Night news.

It was a Rotor problem on the heli, that make it rotate and fall. Tnx

  • all fucking guys dead

  • RIP

  • same i am pro battlefield pilot.....

  • That has never happened to me on Battlefield. The pilot was a noob.

  • Mayday!, mayday! We are going down... MEN DOWN, MEN DOWN!

  • now thats skill. To land a helicopter while spinning that friggen fast and with the lost of some major control. The pilot did one hell of a job landing it perfectly center in that field, RIP

  • Initially, it appeared to be holding altitude spinning, ( loss of tail rotor use), then it begins to loose height rapidly. I would think that centrifugal forces during the initial spinning caused the turbine to flame out , that would explain the sudden smoke, (unburnt kerosene).

    Respect to all involved.

  • Guys somebody died here... the pilot showed great skill avoiding the houses finding an open space... the failure looked serious lots of smoke.... engine/gearbox ???

  • holy fuck the pilot got shredded

  • That was a hard impact.

    R.I.P to the pilot.

  • They hit so hard the doors popped off. It's a wonder the cameraman didnt die too.

  • reminds me of the many times i crashed in GTA

  • lol all the time

  • @mirza007agent but this is real not a video game....

  • @XJoeyJordison666X

    REALLY?!??! I DIDNT NOTICE THAT!!!

  • did they died??

  • wat?!?!?! NO BIG FIRE BALL!!! AWW C-MON!!

  • Comment removed

  • In tail rotor failure torque reaction from the blades will spin the machine. Forward air speed (I guess about 60 knott) would allow the hull to resist this and the pilot would fly away to an airfield to perform emergency landing.

Without forward speed it starts to spin and you are lost, only option is to get down. Without forward speed or (say) 1,000 ft height then autorotation is not possible. Pilot took the remaining option

    God rest him.

  • He did an excellent job keeping the crash away from buildings though.

  • if they had any control, they shouldnt crash that hard

  • the twirly thing at the back stopped twirling and they went smash i recon

  • Really? Which ones?

  • Looked like an A-Star, and it cannot dump fuel. I have never seen a helicopter that can. Smoke can also come from other sources (like transmission oil) and considering the apparent tail rotor failure, or drivetrain disintegration, not entirely an unlikely possibility.

  • civilian helicopters cannot jettison fuel. Even if it could....both of the pilots hands never left the controls until the very end. Helicopters require both hands to fly, let alone autorotate. The smoke was probably a gear box or transmission catastrophic failure. Not a fuel jettison.

  • @chopperpilotgod

This was in Brazil. Maybe civilian helicopters in Brazil can jettison fuel. The "smoke" didn't look like smoke, it looked and dispersed like liquid. You were not in the helicopter, so frankly, you don't know what happened. Maybe the cameraman was trained to assist the pilot in case of emergency.

  • @ClantonBrothers you're an idiot

  • @TheProPilot Oooh, zinger! How long did it take you to come up with that one? All you pilots and "chopper gods" ain't all you think you are. Most people could do what you do with the proper training and practice. It's not like you were born with the knowledge or ability. Actually, you're stupider than most people because most people wouldn't go up in one of those death traps.

  • @ClantonBrothers about the time it took to right it. You're an idiot.

  • @chopperpilotgod im sry, but he cut-off the engine, is that the reason of the smoke, actually, i fly helicopters in campo de marte, where this heli used to stay, so we know what he did because his passenger survived to this accident and still working with helicopters.

  • of channel 7 The Rede Record !!!

  • First off by what video I saw this was a tail rotor failure or tail rotor authority problem, second the pilot was not dumping petrol, the pilots only concern at the point of determining a tail rotor problem would be dumping the collective and nosing over to gain airspeed and he maybe had enough height to do that Iam not exactly sure from the perspective of the video, lastly the smoke came from within the tailboom maybe catastrophic failure of the shaft leading to the tailrotor.

  • Onde fica ''Sao Paolo''?

    Aqui é São Paulo, porra!

  • Pilot: Balls....

  • @Mercury205 more like FFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-

  • I agree with JimmySpangle;

Props to the pilot for attempting to land in an area with no people. May he rest in peace.

  • This video is not a fake...

    Pilot was killed.

  • howd they die if they landed like that wtf

  • Yes, it really happens. Unfortunatelly. It was recorded by another TV helicopter. They were working covering a bank robbery.

  • well what exactly happen?why did they crash?did somebody shot them cause i see smoke coming from the chopper ??

  • thats not smoke thats petrol. pilot ejected petrol so they wouldnt explode into a fireball. little it did him. he still died. poor guy

  • so was it a mechanical problem?geez so sad thinking that you were just doing your daily job and thats what will happen to you..man cant imagine

  • @Artumeli How do you know he died?

  • It's not fake. Unfortunatelly it happens with a good TV reporter pilot. It was recorded by his friend from another TV channel.

  • i think the helicopter "appears" 0:02

  • Of all the places that could have come down, the pilot did an outstanding job to get it to where he/she did. No doubt saved many lives.

That was a hard impact, so I can only hope they survived.

  • @JimmySpangle "TV helicopter has crashed in Sao Paulo on Wednesday, killing the pilot and seriously injuring the cameraman who was also onboard. (Feb. 10) "
