My Mom (who just passed away a few days ago) had the original MGM 78 record of this. (& I still do) When I was about 5 years old dug into the parents' record collection & this was one song I thought weird but so catchy! One of the ones I kept playing over & over. Mom said it was Italian, & she was right in a sense-the movie was Italian, but it was sang in Spanish, as I just found out not too long ago-it didn't sound Italian to me!

This song reminds me of when I was around 8: Going to a cinema about a mile from my home. My parents thought I was asleep. When they found out, my dad beat the hell out of me! Imagine when I first saw it in 'Cinema Paradiso'.
