Yeh yeh yeh Gene. Funny how you and the rest were not so open about your affection for this band back in your hey day eh. The punks in england put Slade down too but privately sneaked in to their gigs when they were suffering having to play lunch time gigs to fat balding business men in ruddy clubs up and down england. Us of a certain age know who you and the rest ripped off but you didnt once back then give the poor buggers a leg up in the states with a bit of hype did you. SLADE were first.
@TheShotgunslade uh ill think youll find slade opened for kiss during their time in the states and kisss have allways gone on about how good they were
All Slade fans! The Official Online Slade Shop is open and it's great! Got all the albums aaaand it has a couple of special podcasts detailing the Slade Story... if you're a fan like me, check it out! Spread the word.... SLADE!!! sladeshop . com
I read that joey ramone started out doing a Noddy impression in the ramones-but I can't imagine joey even being able to sing like that. Love 'em both though.
YUP they are right!!! Why are they never listed in Top 100 of greatest? Slade are at least among the 5 greatest, most versatile and also influential music acts ever.
I agree, an amazing band, but because they were down to earth, they seem forgotten now, much like The Stranglers a decade later, amazing musicians with a large, original output, and a big following.
Said with sincerity, deservedly so!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! [Don't forget KISS either though!]
Both should be1st inductees in any TRUE rock Hall of Fame.

When Slade were supporting Kiss in the States, Noddy approached Gene Simmons and Gene asked for Noddy's autograph.!!!

Both Kiss and Slade were about having a great time. Party music, not the miserable growling crap that heavy metal has turned into now.

@actron You said it. I just about want to slit my wrist whenever I hear modern metal. Kiss and Slade just make you feel good.
