  • Wow - How much money does that city save not having to buy a fleet of school buses, maintenance and gas, plus the damage they do to roads..

Those kids don't have to stand and wait in the cold or rain, waiting for the bus that could be an hour late.. Nor are little kids run over and killed by school buses... or do children subject to the polution...

  • @cyclenut I recommend you read our blog. In it, Mark and I detail many things about what makes the Netherlands the world's leading cycling nation. Search for "a view from the cyclepath"

  • wie ben jij?

    ps:ik zit ook op salland

  • @maungen Ik ben vader van een van de andere studenten.

  • i can only dream of such beautiful weather, i miss HOLLAND

  • Wow, this is brilliant! A shining example of infrastructure which is missing in so many other countries and municipalities.

  • Lovely ride :-)

  • It's sad that most people's bikes are so ill equipped over here in dealing with corrosives. A chainglider, nexus hub, and fenders can do wonders. There was this guy at the coffee shop who said he doesn't ride during the winter because of the ice. I haven't slipped on ice at all this year.

  • @totoroben I rode my bike to work all winter, except for two days. We got freezing rain and everything was glazed with ice. So yeah, even with my Shimano Nexus 7, roller brakes etc, I prefered to keep my bike in the shed and go by train/tram. And I lived to cycle another day. :) Broken bones are no fun.

  • @covidiu I would take the tram too, but my work is not located on a route. I just ride very slowly on the icy days.
