A shove with AJ suited there is a good spot, especially being chip leader. Phil would probably lay 8s and 10s down (but call with 9s), but he happened to have QQ.
@TwistedMetal32 lol the problem is none of those hands are in Phil's "trap" three-bet range. Phil isn't going to limp-raise with the 88 - TT - he would just raise-fold all day with those hands. Phil doesn't have a hand in his range that A-rag suited is doing well against. It is a great spot against a "poker player", bu Phil doesn't play oker anymore. Its reminiscent of Dwan calling the TT standard in the NBC HU tourney. Phil is never showing up there with less than tens nor here with <AJ
i can understand hellmuth.. its really frustrating when you get a beat like that. I must admit I have stood up from a pokertable and cursed like a crazy man after I was an 84% favorite on the turn and got a beat on the river. Especially for Hellmuth its devastating because poker is what he does for a living
@xTincT117 LOL wow you lost as an 84% favourite??? try watching someone peel off running quads or str8 flush - going down 1000-1 fave and see how that feels. Obv you don't play much poker if 16% is the worst beat you ever took. Phil is NOT a poker player anymore he is a business man that plays poker. That's why he doesn't understand that if you get it in as a 90% favourite a hundred times youre gonna lose 10 of them. Its called math, dummies. If you cant take a beat dont play 84% LMAO...
@butternuts000 mmh nice that you jump to conclusions... actually i did play quite alot of poker for a period of years and i have read alot about poker.. not playing 84% would just be bad poker.. you pro
Haha Phil is great for poker on T.V. for sure... I made an audition video based on this clip and would love your votes :) Benjamin Valder on facebook... Video is under "You're a grown ass man"
what a stupid donk with the AJ.. happens to me tourny i play - you would think that these high buyins would have a slightly higher more intelligent class of player
2:39 that goof really should shut the fuck up
