  • Gostei!

  • wow men, you are brilliant... a really artist... congrats... your work is wonderfull

  • Wow, how many people thought you were a girl?!

  • Oh my god, you're REALLY good!

  • OH MY GOD, Someone that can draw that way without making any mistakes, and drawing so beautifully must be from other planet, man you totally nailed it... I love that movie, I love that girl, actually my nickname when I had long hair (Rapu) exists thank to her XD. I LOVED YOUR DRAWING O_O

  • Nice job. You should really loosen up your hand a bit though, draw shapes first instead of detail and draw lightly. Use a lot of light guidelines, they help. (Animation major here) if you go to school for cartooning or some sort of art, they will drill guidelines into your head...but things will come out incredibly proportionate. :)

  • Bwahaha why do they think you're a girl?

  • This is amazing! Why is everyone assuming he's a girl. Amusing nonetheless.

    Keep up the amazing work.

  • really good

  • I start with her circle and basic shapes, then I draw in the eyes. I do this because her eyes shape and set up are the set up for where the nose is angled, and the mouth, then the eye brows of course. Then you would worry about the hairline only at that point if it is just a headshot. If its more do the rest of the picture then and only then do the hair.

Hair should be last especially anyone with long hair, because of the way it drapes over things.

    Michelle

  • You draw just like I do, face first! Hehe. Great work, it is beautiful. Keep it up.

Sam : UHH, SIS TAKE ME AWAY FROM THE EVEIL DEVIL!

    Me : You mean Rapunzel?

    Sam : DUH!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!

    Me : Oh Well...Crazy..

  • Wow this is incredible!!!! It makes me want to start drawing again I used to, but havn't for many years now. Don't listen to any critics becuase everone draws differently, what works for one person doesn't mean their way works for you. You draw from your heart & our comes somehting very special & pretty.

  • AMAZING picture! That looks awesome! I love it. And then movie was.awesome!

  • You're drawing from the outside - in. Which means, you've outlined the face and the hairline first. You should rather, draw from the inside - out. From the internal construction of the head and face first, then add the hair details afterwards. The hair rides on the head, it should not be a beginning construction element. Also the outline edges of the face are just the edge of the face/head volume, so get the volume and construction right, then the edges will follow.

  • @JozefSzekeres when i work from the inside out the head becomes disproportionate to the facial features...believe me i've tried.

  • @mrArtystik awesome job! I draw also and i draw from the outside... i start with the outline of the face then go right on to hair and sometime the clothing or surroundings next... i never start with the facial features first... whenn i do it doesnt turn out right... ive also tried myself... so i understand ya there :) keep up the awesome work!

  • @mrArtystik The same thing happens to me when I try to dry from the inside out. As for JozefSzekers comment: To me it hasn't made much of a difference when I had the hair features, but to me it seems like it can help to define the lines of the forehead and just above the ears.

@JozefSzekeres Almost everyone has a different drawing style. You should remember that, and remember that everyone has different preferences too!

  • @mrArtystik Oh, and great drawing and video too! Thanks a lot for the upload!

  • @JozefSzekeres

Everyone has their own way. I draw inside- out like you explained, but some people can't. I can't draw outside- in like mrArtsilk. This his own way of doing it, theres no right way

  • @JozefSzekeres i don't believe there are actual "rules" of drawing or artwork... you have do just do what best expresses the image you are trying to get across to the viewer. that said, of course there are traditional ways of learning art, but i don't think it's really fair to say that one "should" draw in a particular way. no disrespect meant, but i think it's clear that whatever the technique he chose, it was extremely successful.

  • @JozefSzekeres --although that is a good way to work, it is better to start with a frame. when you painting a picture you dont paint it then put it on the canvas(;

...but you could also argue, that you get the frames for the canvas after you paint the picture...soo, YEAH, EITHER WAY IS GOOD(:

  • @JozefSzekeres people draw how ever they want

  • You really do have a gift !!!

I wish I had that to

    Keep up the good work

    (I love tangled )

  • u da bomb

  • A M A Z I N G ! <3

  • you draw very well! but could change the camera angle because most of the traits I did not see how you did!!

  • I am very impressed! You are one AMAZING artist! :)

  • wow it's beautiful...i wish you the best!!!!!!

  • Yes you did it and you did it amazingly well...........

  • Mind sharing what pencil you used?

  • That right arm look weird.

  • dude, you should work for disney!! :D the only thing that bothered me really was not being able to see the pencil on the paper, like i think somebody else said already. thank you so much for sharing! keep it up!!!!!!!!!

  • What would be the best is that you could try to make or teach others how to make their own cartoon characters! Just a suggestion! XD! Very talented by the way.

  • mean!!!!

  • wow you're amazingly talented :)

  • Coool

  • duude, this is amazing (:

  • You could have sped up the video a bit. I know it's "a very quick sketch" but seven minutes is way too long for someone to be staring at a pencil making marks on a page.

  • You are amazingly talented. I really wish that I could learn how to draw like you do, but I guess people say this all the time. Sorry to be repetative, but it's true!

  • Wow! Superb job! When I draw I usually start at the eyes and work my out to the nose, mouth and then the sides of the face. I'm going to try starting at the sides of the face like you did.

  • How can you draw that in so little time its amazing!!!

  • I really REALLY enjoyed this! Keep it up! You have a beautiful talent and energy!

  • I LOVE THE MUSIC, ITS SO BEAUTIFUL AND FITS SO WELL IN THIS CLIP!!!!!!!

  • This is a lot better designed then the 2d Rapunzel. I love 2d and everything but Rapunzel's design in 2d just didn't do it for me. This one however is spot on good sir.

  • how old are you ?

  • You are AMAZING! I loved watching this.

  • That was really cool! Pursue this talent of yours,ok. Awesome!

  • the music fits really well! keep up the good work!!

  • Before you added the details her face looks kinda weird now it looks amazing when it's done!

  • HOLY SHIT U DO RAPUNZEL BETTER THAN THE COMPUTER

That's amazing u are my new hero

  • 9 people are Racist peoples

  • @leinadyon Just because people don't like the vid, it doesn't mean they're racist, I think the whole racism thing is spiraling out of control. Before you ask, NO I did not mark down the video, I think this guy is amazing, really, I wish I could capture the same look. Good Job, MrArtystik!!!

  • 9 people are idiots.

  • artist :D

  • why did this take 7 minutes?

  • Wow ur amazing I wish I had ur talentz

  • girl, you're talented! I guess you hear that alot though, but i just had to say it! And don't worry about drawing on the same line over and over again thing, because I do that too ;) I draw too but I can never get the nose right :/ you're in luck :) So take care :) Oh and i love classical music too, so I was relaxed and I enjoyed watching this video ;)

  • @GabrieleiC I am a guy...but thank you

  • @mrArtystik HAHAHAHAHAH x) boy! youre amazing!! =D

  • @GabrieleiC Lol Never get the nose right. Seen the Tangled movie or anything about it, because that cracks me up.

  • @GabrieleiC u fail

  • @GabrieleiC IKR! The nose is kinda easy but the placing is a whole different story. For example, I just sometimes put it too low, too high, too right, ugh! I HATE IT

  • girl, you're talented! I guess you hear that alot though, but i just had to say it! And don't worry about drawing on the same line over and over again thing, because I do that too ;) I draw too but I can never get the nose right :/ you're in luck :) So take care :)

  • :O

    Oha kann der gut zeichnen!

Ich find die zeichnung wunder schön!!!

  • it's wonderful!^^ She's really beautiful!!! Nice work!

  • just the head is fine but the body is a little bit small. :S

  • you are really good at drawing... very nice work. :D

  • its good looks just like her! i drew a pic of them! i would post a response but i cant seem to get good quality...:( *sniff*

  • repeating the same line to many times, a habit of mine which im tryin to fix, it gets very annoying and it draws out the time so much, i did a sketch of the same thing twice, one with stray lines, took me 13 mins, one without straylines, supirsingly took 9 minutes, so it cuts out a lot of time...hope you can work on it

  • A different camera angle, that actually allowed viewer to watch pencil on paper, might have been more effective. Your hand is blocking everything...

  • @madrasgypsy um ok :D

  • @mrArtystik nah dont worry it didnt gr8 pic btw :)

  • Awesome

  • time lapse!

  • Wow! Great job!

  • cool!

  • AWESUM!!! i wish i culd draw like that! i LUVS it!

  • Wow. That was amazing. I can't draw to save my life so I love watching these kinds of things. You're really talented! Don't let the bad guys get you down :]

  • i love it great job :)

  • i like this man... i try to drew disney's character since kindergarten.. and ending up in manga style.. sinc here in malaysia... manga from japan and hongkong comics is the biggest influence here

  • Dude you really have to be confident in everything you draw and going over the same lines over and over is very time consuming. Just a little hint on how to get even more confident, start drawing with a pen. The picture did look very good, but very "hairy". Confident clean lines is what really makes the "wow factor".

  • Wow very good, you should be a disney animator :)

  • --inued..

Repeating over the same line, proves insecurity which is not good, specially when someone judges your talent by your final work (yes, even for a sketch).

So, you did this sketch in 7 mins, if you stop repeating the same line over and over maybe you can cut your time in half or so ... which is really good. Professionals do their sketches so fast and with very few stray lines, it could even be the final work!

Try, you will get used to it, you have talent and technique!!

  • @MereLee thanks i will strongly try to do this

  • @MereLee Yup. Long, quick strokes are the most attractive to those searching for a good artist. Another one that really draws attention is starting without the skeleton. In fact one of my favorite artists of all times starts from the outside of the image working in! God, I wish I could do that.

  • @MereLee This is funny that you say this, Glen Keane the character concept artist does all of his work with gesture drawlings, and eventually rounds about to pretty smooth lines. She is an animated character- and gesture is the best way to handle a character to show movement in a single still image. Dont worry about perfection- just get her on the page, you can always put another piece of paper over the gesture and simply smooth over the lines.

@ MrArtstik :) Keep drawling!!! Looks great!

  • when u retrace that just makes it bolder

artist take their time with their artwork

he don't speed draw, if they do they don't have good details

  • @ally3141 is not about speed drawing. Agree, a careless quick drawing or sketch lacks of details and that sux. The point is the confident-looking lines. There is this guy: markcrilley (<- user name) that post videos of "How to draw..." He too do the same line over and over again and takes way too long for a very simple drawing (although looks beautiful). BUT, he do the last confident-looking line with a black prismacolor (and also shadows with it), that makes it look more professional, thats all

  • @MereLee I don't think so, and I'm a graduating Art Major from Siena Heights University, by watching this more or less he is darkening the lines and changing angles... but that's just my opinion. Btw, to the artist: Phenomenal job!

  • You are truly talented and I love to see how you draw each line (not like those "time lapse" drawings that flood youtube).

I have an observation for you tho, an advice given to me from a professional: "Avoid hairy lines."

Is much better to have a few faint guide lines and then make a single stroke, strong and secure line which will be the defining one (yes, even for sketches). It proves that you know what you are doing and earns the respect from fellow artists.

    characters limit, to be cont--

  • This music makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

  • @TheMangaMonster YES! all part of the plan. lol

  • Its Extraordinary !!!! AMAZING work !!!!!!

  • @saikat360 very kind words :) appreciate it!

  • Wow! That turned out so well! Great job!

Rapunzel looks really cute in that drawing :3

  • your good! keep on practicing :)

  • Beautiful! <33 I want to see this movie lol! You are so talented!! Drawing look just like Repunzel no doubt about it. =) You should like totally work for Disney lol! =D

  • Love it! :D

  • love it ! you should work for disney

  • Precious!

  • bravo. you are so talented!!!

  • THATS GREAT!

  • Wow, you are very talented :)

  • Wow! Beautiful. I love seeing artist creating something so wonderful. You are truly talented. The best to you. Thanks for sharing your talent with us.

  • @luvnovelas08 no problem thank you for leaving such a nice comment

  • well keep doing it till 3000 because that is awesome!!!

  • it looks great , only thing i would say is try to work on speed, people in disney (especially in animation) tend to work faster than this... its wonderful and see if you can try and make your own poses instead of copying a still from a movie :)

  • @kiorage my speed would be incredible but when i know that im being recorded it makes me want to be precise, plus usually they draw so quick is because they are drawing their own character. thank you for your critique tho

  • @mrArtystik its true... have you thought of making your own character???

  • @kiorage i have made my own characters in past videos but they don't get many views, so i was hoping to do simple character drawings of famous people and characters until i reach a number of subscribers..1000

  • @mrArtystik no, most of the time, it's not their own character. someone else would design the character, and there would be different people having to use that design to draw the character in different poses and actions and outfits. and also, they don't scratch-line it as much. they use only a few strokes and lines to define the lines of the hair or the face. but since this was actually a cg figure, i think that's pretty decent.

  • In your description, you stated that you wanted criticism? I think the word you're looking for is critique, because nobody would criticize such talent as yours =D

  • @LSysyn15 wow thank you, and i'll be sure to change that right away

  • I love it :)

    you're really talented

and I really love drawing too :D

I will share with you some of my drawings if you like too :D

  • @PinkGl8er2 yeah tht would be nice

  • Very Nice!! Like you I also wish I could work for Disney, but I'm not half as good as you. Keep up the good work and good luck to you.

  • so cool !!! nice one

  • You are an amazing artist, you should get a gig at Disney as an animator.............thanks for sharing your talent.

  • @johnhwilliams your comment has made me feel good about what i'm doing and i feel tht you understand my goal, thanks a bunch.

  • @mrArtystik Yeah I should of known you wanted to work for Disney.............I realised that after I went to your channel......you have a great talent. Now here's the clincher; can you create a creature totaly unique from your perspective....I think you can. I'm a musician and I can't draw anything but I love art and I think if you could create creatures of your own, Disney would be very lucky to have you as an animator. It's like your life could change and you would be workign for Disney!!!

  • @johnhwilliams yes i think i can create a creature that is unique, i will post a video soon...and thank you for the kind words. please subscribe. :)
