  • hummingbird hawk moth - seen them in portugal its a great impression though

  • he is like so fast that it is like whatching him at a nascar pit stop

  • That's definitely a hummnjgbird!! No moth can hover, much less fly backward.

  • I thought it was a humming bird at first... but after watching the video closely... it is infact a moth... the sure tell to this is in the first few seconds of the video... between 0:04 - 0:05 ... you will see it pull away from the flower... and curl its proboscis up... if it were a bird it would not do this behaviour... i know the video is burly in that section... but you can clearly make out the fact that it has been curled up.

  • @darclands i agree.

  • it's sure a bird.i just saw in my garden this morning..humming bird.at first i thought its a bee/hornet..then everyday i watch carefully n saw the beak, wings n tail..caught it my camcoder..about an inch.plz google to get numerous info...moth doesnt hav humming beak..tenkiu aurosmi 4 sharing the video.

  • Having given teh lead my own reasearch lead me to the fact that it is not what you mentioned but "Colibri-thalassinus".. Thanks for that

  • Thank you for your information. I am no biologist or a student of biology. The shoot was due to my interest on nature

  • not a bird. that's 'Macroglossum stellatarum', a species of moths that resemble hummingbirds in flight. good catch though.
