Mine has done this off and on, it is so embarrassing, I happen to have some valve seals on hand, will post back if it works, just have to get it done...hops it not something worse, mine does it only warm, smoke looks just like yours.
well when u hit the gas and it smokes its most likely the rings. but check your valve stem to valve guide clearence if the valve guide seals are good. could possiby have to have the valve guides knurled to have the correct clearence
Most definatley the valve stem seals...it's annoying, but not harmful as long as you watch the oil level. My Mitsubishi does the same thing. It's a cheap replacement job if you have the special tools, but if not just make sure you're always topped off on oil. It will run forever like that..
You can look at your spark plug. If it has black and brown build up bad, it's most likely a valve seal. I have that on my big block now. Fouls out one plug every couple months. Havent fixed it yet.
@Braindeadfuker No. Still fighting with it. I don't get it becuase it's a remanufactured engine. I think it might be the rings due to me babying it too much during the break in period. Who knows. Has about 50K now. I do know the people sitting behind me at the red light hate me when I take off and leave them in a thick cloud of smog though. :)
my hot rodded 77 mercury cougar does that too, only when it is cold or it has been sitting, compression is good and not varying by 5 psi per cylinder.
i can balance a dime on the intake manifold with the car running
it smokes out the whole neighborhood, there is no excess oil consumption
best and most effective way to find out. leak down test. that'll tell you everything

@fiveohstang Valve stem seals mate, my Mitsubishi does the same thing. Just keep a eye on the oil levels and you'll be fine.

I wouldn't worry about that little bit of smoke..... just watch your dipstick! =)
Oh, and I know it's tough because it's a sweet, fast car, but try to keep it below 6000rpm! =)
