  • I wanted to add one more thing about C-House: they DID have good sack lunches that we could get from the van. Just don't tell them where your squats are or which services for the homeless are helping minors because they'll sometimes report them to the authorities!

  • Later I ran into a Dianic Wiccan anarchist on a beach (while I was hitchhiking and went to the beach to hide and sleep) and she got me off the streets and turned my life around. Sometimes running away DOES work out right. But I was very lucky in that way. And I still have my emotional scars and a physical one on my neck where I was slashed with a razor. Even as a "success story" I don't recommend it to anyone. But I know sometimes there's no real choice.

  • I was luckier than many. We'd joined a "krew" and I dabbled in multiple things before I settled on helping in a shoplifting scheme and scamming a pizza place that would throw good hot pizzas in the dumpster when they weren't picked up but we had to share with the homeless guy who claimed that dumpster for his own (but he shared his booze and pot with us). I found sharing smokes and booze was real good in making friends but if you refused to smoke/drink with them they could get mad/insulted.

  • We had to be careful of C-House (Covenant House) because they'd screw kids over (but help people up to age 21, especially if you were pregnant). Asking for help or going to social services could turn out useless or even bad. Some were escapees of abusive teen gulags and mental hospitals and couldn't go back. Besides, when you're abused by adults you don't expect other adults to help you anyway. I'm not saying don't bother, just be careful (and it's not that simple).

  • My friend was kidnapped by a pimp and was forced to do hard drugs (they get 'em hooked before putting them on the street and until then kept them locked in rooms). There were crooked cops who helped pimps like that and the city (Houston--but I hear this is true in many other cities as well and have heard of worse in some) made money off the prostitutes (including underage ones) on "vice nights" where they'd give them all a fine and send them back out to turn more tricks to pay it.

  • It is very sad that a child or teen feels forced to live on their own. It's not the way God intended but we know it happens a lot. In a way I admire these kids because I would have never had the nerve. Yet I believe it is far wiser to have a plan before just leaving without a place to go. I endured my home until I could leave. The minute I was out of high school I was gone.

  • This vid is good for those kidds who want to runaway or are thinking about it. it sure gives ya the reality on what will happen. it may be ok at some molments but others it can be a hell i agree with Lovein.

  • I agree with Lovein. You could get raped, kidnapped and possibly even get killed!

  • the music in this kills me

  • Wow this video really hit home because I was a runaway for 3 years and it was scary out there! Yet I was too proud to go back home. I am so blessed to have changed my life around now. I want to write a book on my experiences in the street. No one should run away. There are some EVIL people out there ready to take advantage of you.

  • The streets are like a dark hole where nothing matters or can be trusted, thats

the feeling that most homeless teens have. This cycle begins most often in the homes of these teens` sometimes strict parents give few options? so these kids run away. But then again allot of teens dont want to obey their parents and seek a free lfe style? but this freedom often leads to Hell on earth. Get your life in order and be responcible or this will surely be your fate.

  • You fucking nasty bitches, you leave because of family shit, but you don't leave to pursue something. you dont. fuckin faggots running away because your mommy did shit.

  • Man I didn't realize the street was that dangerous.

  • sometime's home isn't safe either though..... even if the streets are dangerous, in some cases it's safer than going back home. I know seven people living on the streets right now, and they're doing fine. well, at least better than they would be doing if they were still at home. This was a great video by the way....

  • I think we should all run away, drop out of society. Let the whole thing fall in on itself. Will have ol georgy and his little cronnies by the balls then. Remember what gahndi said about passive aggression? Lets do as Leary says, Turn on, Tune in, Drop out!!

  • running away is hard alot harder than this vid shows

  • god bless george bush...he shure knows how to spend the nations money

  • Riigggghhht! It's Bush's fault that these kids ran away from home and would rather live on the street than be told what to do. Ah-ha, yep that's it all right. Thanks for clearing that up for us. I'll bet no one has ever told you that you have a grasp for the obvious have they. Gee, don't know whay that is!

  • The internet has made it easier to raise awareness and you have made excellent use of it with this video. Well done and I pray you will receive the support you need in tackling this problem.

  • Why don't you do it first and show us how.

  • Bitch plzz, why dont u runaway and die?

  • Running away is not the answer! Just because you are going through hard times talk to a teach a social worker do something anything you can instead of running away

  • Kids think about running away because even though you are going through hard times running away isn't the answer!! Listen to this video becuase running away is not safe

  • nice
