  • Man I remember watching this live on Channel V as it was being recorded. 9 Years ago! Damn, I miss Tomahawk and feel old.

  • Hard to believe Channel V would actually play cool music like this let alone host the band.

  • @comatose603 I was just going to say that!! Good ear bro

  • pause for mike's face at exactly 0: 52

  • I love how it sounds like all four bands at the same time rather than one creative force over powering the others!

  • outstanding performance

  • This song does not remind me of the jesus lizard.

  • I wonder why it reminds you of the Jesus lizard.

  • this song reminds me of the jesus lizard

  • Wow, I prefer their live recordings. Mike makes them sound so much more insane than the originals, I love that. :V

  • It's like he's a great music-actor; he can do anything he fuckin wants, haha, he could probably even take the role of female vocalist if he wanted XD

    Patton is fully amazing

  • All we need now is a padded room for the singer, ha ha.

The band is pretty tight, though.

  • I love how the bassist grooves at 2:15

  • @HungarianMafioso I LOVE YOU GROOVES

  • @HungarianMafioso

funny thing is, that he doesn*t play a note - it's a pure drumgroove (Bassdrum, Snare, HiHat)

  • @HungarianMafioso Kevin used to do that all the time...no matter what band he was in lol

  • @HungarianMafioso in his cop uniform

  • oh and they wear the cop uniforms for the promo in this era, such a blatant fuck-you. OINK OINK

  • flawless performance from a bunch of seasoned professionals - I love the first Tomahawk record for the fact that it REALLY sounds like a classic JL album fronted by Patton. Denison's guitar is right up front in the mix, you've got the serial killer concept, it's just a mean fucking album. The other albums are both great for different reasons and all but... come on!

  • You gotta love Kevin, the guy was in the Cows and The Melvins (great bands)

  • oh god ... this rocks. i mean just look at how these cats ((especially the drummer (from Helmet wasnt he)) are enjoying themselves

  • mike patton is freaking insanse and i love it!

  • The drummer is so badass.

  • pure energy ...just kick ass

  • wait for the world to say it's sorry

  • MIKE WEON!!

    SOS GRANDE PERRO

  • ...phenonomal..

  • ...saw them in Glasgow on this tour....fizzy....phenomal....

  • these live performances rocks ass

  • Damn, I wish they just kept a camera on Stanier the whole time

  • who is the Stainer ?

  • the drummer

  • John Stanier, the drummer!

Currently he plays in Battles, which is extremely awesome as well!

  • yup

  • I have only heard live versions of Tomahawk's songs so can I ask if the studio versions of their albums are just as good?

  • just as good, probably better... still the same intensity thats carried into the production

  • I got to see this live. It was on tour with Tool for Lateralus, and I must say, still to this day, it is one of the best shows I have yet to see.

  • Same here, but I didn't appreciate the genius back then. I had also seen Fantomas open for Tool a year earlier.

I Wish I could go back and see those shows now that I appreciate Patton.

  • Indeed, I am with you on that on as well. I didn't even know who they were at the time.

  • i would of made the same mistake as yourself if i had been blessed by the all non existant allmighty lol.. Patton Is God doG..... poopy pants... lmao

  • classic patton vocals awsome

  • erm...

  • these are good high quality videos for live music.

  • This sounds just as heavy as a chainsaw, it's really amazing... Was this performance a full concert?

  • MAKE ME YOURS!!!!!

  • Stanier, Dennison, Patton and who is the bassist? This is amazing.

  • Kevin Rutmanis, formerly of the Cows and, more recently, the Melvins. Currently of Hepa-Titus.

  • what does he have on his font

  • greedlz, don't you like the way drummer plays?

  • Depressing fact of the day: The video for "Girlfriend" by Avril Lavigne (most viewed ever on YouTube) has been watched approximately 867 times more often than this video.

  • You just ruined my night. Thanks to you and Canada. Devolution is real.

  • but that isnt exactly legitimate because her fans got togehter on a specific date and watched the video and refreshed as many times as they could and i think there was a prize involved im not entirely sure but yeah its stupid she doesnt have the spot because people are watching for the fun.

  • If that's the case, then I hereby propose we do the same for this video. In the spirit of promoting music that doesn't suck, I hereby propose that we all tell everyone we know to watch this video and refresh it as many times as possible on, let's tentatively say, June 1.

    WHO'S DOWN??

  • This one and "God hates a coward"...let's watch and refresh as many times as possible on June_1_2009!! Make Avril Lavigne bow to Mike Patton!! Mike has more talent in his numb right hand, than Avril will ever have in 50 yrs!!

  • sure- but I have watched this vid hundreds of times over the past few years-I listen to my mike patton playlist while I am working

  • ppl are senile animals.

i mean wtf. how can someone prefer avril above this music.

ok when fucking comes around the corner i prefer avril but music......

  • you show me yours, I'll show you mine.

  • i feel so bad for the drummer

  • Holy crap that guy's a freak.

  • Comment removed

  • whats your point caller ?

  • everything.

    ...

  • this song is the reason i still roam the earth

  • Fantastic performance!!! Patton hasn't done a shit piece of music since splitting FNM, it's all so good. Esp the E.P he did with Dillinger Escape Plan, and Fantomas, of course.

  • Hey Aaron, you get off on fucking with people huh? You most likely enjoy Mike Patton's music but you like to fuck with it's hardcore fans instead.

  • wat

  • hahahaha

  • are you FUCking SERIOUS

  • Dude, your in the wrong place.

  • first of all theres something called personal preference if you can't accept that you must have some problem with listening to coldplay and letting others listen to other music, also coldplay is a radiohead rip off formed from a bunch of gay over dramatic idiots who believe soft noise and songs about clocks equals talent and creativity... radiohead at least gets it right

  • You obviously know nothing about music if you say that Mike Patton, John Stanier and Duane Dennison have a lack of talent. I don't expect everyone to like the music these guys make as its an acquired taste, but they have proven themselves to be hugely talented to anybody with a discerning pair of ears.

  • this is so fucking freak, i like it

  • Please Mr. Patton, make more & more music. I hope you make an album with FNM again.

  • FNM is planning on touring Europe sometime soon. I'm not sure about any new songs or an album, but this is certainly a step in the right direction.

  • doesnt surprise me to see a DEP argument, cause this song reminds me a lot of the more accessible songs they've been adding to their latest albums (except for duane denison's guitar cause that shit is unmistakeable). puciato is an amazing frontman and makes the live shows so worth it, but i cant deny how pattony he is

  • dillinger is totally influenced by this man...so obvious i love it.

  • well yeah greg puciato is just a poor mans mike patton. i think the DEP should get a new singer

  • Why should they, Greg has such a great gritty and agressive grunt thats suits the charged hectic style of the music. And his live presense along with the rest of the band is intense. Patton's time with them was ok, but the songs didn't really grab my attentiopn as much. Puciato has a good range and his influence on the band added a nice touch. Singers that ca nscream like Patton and Greg are hard to come around. It would be highly dumb to remove someone with a powerful airy scream like his.

  • Well then maybe Puciato and DEP should stop blatantly imitating Patton's vocals and music on so many of their songs. For examples, see Setting fire to sleeping giants, black bubblegum, nong eye gong, and a whole bunch of other songs. There's definitely a Mr. Bungle/FNM influence that creeps in way too much on some of DEP's songs

  • Oh yeah, I caught onto that myself the minute I heard the songs. But you have to remember in a lot of rock/metal Patton is a huge influence for many. Mike did leave a lasting impression on the band, but that is more so showed through their willingness to experiment more. But atleast Puciato has a different way of screaming than Mike, which in my mind makes up for the small melodic parts that he shows simularity. Screaming wise, they are a bit different.

  • True. I think it was a bit harsh of me to suggest that they get a new singer... i like his style during the more chaotic songs but its just when they do more melodic material that i think the Patton influence is way too apparent. Anyway thanks for replying with an intelligent comment.. that's a rarity on youtube.

  • Hey thanks, the feeling is mutual. But your definitely right, the melodic parts are often too simular. Maybe Greg could try and change to tone of his softer vocals a little too give him more individuality. He does seem very Pattonish at times.

  • I love their drummer, he looks kind of geeky and it's awesome.

  • badass performance

  • LOVE IT...

  • That was fucking brilliant.

  • He do no cigarettes..

  • Fucking Great Drummer.

  • @ 1:27 WHOOLAWRLAWHROA!

  • LOL

  • does Patton use drugs?

  • caffeine is his drug of choice

  • dont forget the steaks and beer
