You should know that the we will reach the Limits to Growth on Earth well before 2100. The people needed to be frightened in some way to reduce consumption: global warming, Captain Planet, RRR, etc.

Terran - We don't have much of a choice. Capatalism can only be sustained for so long. There is a finite amount of natural resources which we are consume at an increadible rate and for what? So we can produce things that nobody actually needs inorder to make more money which has no value unless we all agree it does.
It has to come to an end soon.

@assists What an ignorant comment. Whether or not the sun is heating up is irrelevant to the problems manifested by man. If the sun is, in fact, heating up, that's all the more reason we should be trying our best to not destroy the thin layer of protection [ozone] we have around our planet that protects us from deathly rays [gamma/xray]. Although we can't control the sun, we are able to perform measures leading to lesser damage.

There are many deadlocks in any scientific endeavour (in any endeavour, in fact). Thus, why draw hyperboles to state the obvious? Science can't explain a lot of things, and probably we'll blow ourselves up before getting closer to the "truth" (whatever that is).
However, science built an amazing array of theories, hypothesis and working knowledge without ever having to pull the God card.
As long as people acknowledge that Science is not Religion, and vice versa, everyone will profit.

I agree.If we can just let certain questions rest on a pedestral of opinion, accept it as such, without having to tape definites to them we would let sanity win out :).Science verifies logic, that's a definite, but science and religion are two entirely different realms: one fact seeking the other beliefs.They shouldn't dispute but they do due to personal agenda's.
We have much to thank science for but debating science and religion over definites is like getting oil and water to mix.

Really sad that the Theist lot cannot look at the natural beauty without the sad, old specter of God behind everything. Turning to purely scientific experiments as proof of the existence of God is the ultimate acceptance that the religious model is tired and baffled by science as a whole.

Agreed, bigdog.Atheists argue that it's because energy is eternal and has no beginning.But if you observe energies: terrestrial, extra terrestrial, environmental or even artificial energies they all have the same thing in common, a purpose and a cause based on their component and structuring on a biological level.
So you see even energy in whatever form has a purpose and a cause and it corrolates according to application and mixture.
The big question: what/who set that cause into effect?

In all honesty, if the big bang theory is to be believed, you need to accept this improbability: That energy has no cause or function according to its chemical compound or biological make up.Which would mean that you are admitting that energy has no consequence, in any form or atmosphere whether terrestrial or extra terrestrial.Which means, simply put, energy would have no motion(we all know this is not the case.
So the big bang theory denies the known science of energetic motions.

My itching question: If we accept proven scientific fact that energy has cause and purpose according to molecular design, then go farther and explain scientifically what set that cause in place.YOU CAN'T :)

Any rational scientific mind can understand logic, in this case, the logic of energies.We can rationalize and grasp that concept, however we can't go farther in explaining the entity/cause/effect which placed those logics into motion.period.
And if we believe and accept that fact, any sane mind would, then we must conclude that theories such as the big bang must have a purpose and cause because energy itself does.
And if it has a purpose, explain IT! and the propagater's can't.

It defies logic to think that the sun being a giant burning sphere continues to burn without implosion.A lack of oxygen (believed to be less than 2%) is probably the primary reason, it's like a bomb without a detonator.

The Sun does not have enough mass to explode as a supernova. Instead, in about 5 billion years, it will enter a red giant phase, its outer layers expanding as the hydrogen fuel in the core is consumed and the core contracts and heats up. Helium fusion will begin when the core temperature reaches around 100 million kelvins and will produce carbon, iron and oxygen.
Then it's radius will expand sooo much that it will literally swallow earth. but there's 5bn years 'til that
