i think high school musical COULD HAVE been on this level but because it had the disney label and they couldnt cuss smoke or make it more realistic and rock n rollish like Grease thats why its so cheesy and hated. Really it has a good plot and idea and could rival grease, but had it not been made by disney, it couldve been a better movie and have a great legacy becaus eit knew how to do sequels right

@yogurtlandlover but HSM wasn't nearly as big or as classic as Grease, you can't relate to the characters, you don't feel anything for those people, the songs are bad, the movie will eventually be forgotten, while Grease will continue to be a timeless classic, plus the movie was made to make money for Disney, not for the passion, plus to market teen idols, while in Grease, plus the movie was pretty shallow, in HSM there are preps and jocks, while Grease has all types of social groups.

I would turn the sound up for 'Hopelessly Devoted To You'. I believe Olivia won a Grammy for her vocals on that song. The father of Chris Martin of Coldplay is a huge Olivia fan & Chris arranged a private breakfast for the two of them in Australia during a world tour! His dad always followed the band on tour in the hope of meeting Olivia. Chris made his father's life long dream come true! The best song in Grease was 'Hopelessly Devoted To You'. Then 'Summer Nights'. The rest were shabby! I always cringed with disgust with the ending of the film during childhood, as Sandy changed completely! I would always change the channel near the end of the movie, during TV airings because it was so bad!

When I first watched this movie I was pretty young and I didn't understand a lot of it. As I watched it over the years it was like little puzzle pieces came together and I started understanding each of the characters. Such a classic movie =) I hope people keep watching this instead of pale imitations ;)

'78 late spring and I took my girlfriend to see Grease right before we graduated from high school. We loved the movie then and love it now. And that girlfriend that I took to see Grease... she's been my wife now for just over 30 years! Our son has watched the movie many times and has heard our "Grease Story" so many times that it's just a part of who we are.

@nanaz96 the people who work for Disney seem to have no idea of what High School life is really about, there isn't a real high school feeling in there, and give kids and teens the wrong idea, while Grease has that, and you're right, HSM will never hold a candle to Grease, the HSM craze should be fully forgotten in a matter of 5 to 10 years, while Grease will continue to stand the test of time.

I checked your profile you're in the USA I am in Canada in Mississauga and no the Mississauga Library system does not have it. If they had it they are good though and would transfer it from one Library to another closer to your location but they simply do not have it to do that. I guess it depends on what city/area you are in. But, this is a city and it is not available. :0(
