  • I just ordered this one for my 55litre tank, i get it tmr, looking forward to seeing how good it is,

I have a Fluval 4 Plus in my bigger tank and I've had it for 5 years, it's starting tom play up now, but i can't complain really as it's done an amazing job.

If my U2 filter is good for my smaller tank, i may buy the big one (U4) for my lounge one. :)

  • will they send it to sweden

  • i I just got my New Fluval u4 Filter and when i opened my fluval there was 3 compartments the middle one or the bio compartment there was a open hook by accident i cliped it off i was wondering if i can buy another case.

  • I have a u2 in a 90litre tank in my bedroom and its basically silent :-)

  • I am just wondering I have a 150 gallon tank

with external filter all set up

What would be wrong with installing 5 of these internal filters???

made for 63 gallons a piece since external filters are a lot more work??

  • @aaronhare thats a dumb idea. .just use a fluval fx5. .or maybe even 2 lol

  • What is the noise level for this filter? Would this be a good filter for an aquarium in a beedroom?

  • @integrags1

very quiet without the venturi, with about the same as a tetra whisper

  • What is the Venturi system? What does it control? How do you use it?

  • @wcrimi3

Heya! A venturi system is a wee attachment on a filter at the outflow to allow more oxygenation into a tank. I have the older Fluval+ series and the venturi is at the top of the filter. I have a small section of hose pipe going to venturi and it massively increases the bubbles in the water negating the need to have a separate pump for an air wand.

It makes a sucking noise which might bug you so stick a 1 way valve on it to stop the sucking noise.

  • Are these filters considered an upgrade over the older Fluval 1-4+ series?

  • @wcrimi3

It would appear so! The features seem to be better; more filteration, more filteration processes and compartments and better control over flow. I love the idea of having flow at the bottom and top of the tank!

  • ive got the u4 and im very happy with it....

i would all so like to say that there is a valve at the top so u can make bubbles :)

  • I use them - really good ones (Fluval U2 as well as U1 for smaller tanks)!

  • As long as the solid waste levels aren't too great, this filter will be fine for hatchling/small turtles. As they grow your turtles will require a bigger tank and a bigger filter such as an external depending on species. If they're Sliders for example, they could get up to 30 cm/12" fairly easily.

  • can i use this in my turtle tank i have 3 turtles my tank is 3'x1.75'x8"
