  • have you ever tried this look with the kccc

  • شعرك حلو مره

  • The second day hair was unbelievable. Wow!

  • What type of leave-in conditioner do you use??

  • @gorgeous832 Sorry for the late response, but I use ShidaNatural's Moisturizing Cream / Detangler as my leave-in followed by ShidaNatural's Healthy Scalp & Hair Oil.

  • beautiful

  • LOL at you and your satin pillowcase. Great tut!

  • i luv your hair videos count me as your fan

  • I describe mine and my (oldest) daughter's hair as "cotton" also. That's funny that you used the same word~

  • Love it!

  • You are so funny... I loved your video... I have finally found someone that has cotton hair like mine ... LOL... I just found another product that you might like it's wet and wavy, curl and wave moose works great.... Again great video...

  • Hello. When I spray conditioner on my hair or put it in during the day, it always seems to stay on the surface of the hair and make it wet rather than get absorbed inside, so that the hair feels dry and wet at the same time, do you know of a way to solve this? Thank you!

  • I'm new to natural hair, I have had locs for 10 years, just 3 weeks a go, I cut out my locs. Now I'm look for natural hair care and styles

  • great tutorial.

  • what is your hair type?i'm having a hard time deciding what mine is but it looks as if we are the same.

  • well you said you have conttony like hair.. so do i.. but i cant get it to lay down like urs

  • @temickab My hair didn't always lay down like this. I think I trained my curls after changing my regimen and living silicone-free lifestyle, not using shampoo as frequently, and doing everything I can to keep my hair at a good moisture level.

  • U're funny and your hair is gorgeous. I subscribed!

  • @Nachonizer Thanks for subbing! :-)

  • Loved this video. I have you as one of my friends on Facebook today was my first day watching one of your videos. I was watching a lot of one person and asked a question and she answered without details on whatelse to do . So I will ask you. Is it alright to wet my hair daily? I have prob the same curl pattern as you with lots of waves.

  • @maggie33williams My hair loves water. During warmer months, I wash my hair more than once in a week. I shampoo once a week (but only on 1st washing) then I co-wash on 2nd wash. If I wash my hair 1 or 2 more times in that week I'll only co-wash, but I always do deep conditioning masque each time I wash my hair. Conditioning & Moisture is so important to me. On days I'm not washing, I spritz my hair with water (or ShidaNatural's Moisturizing Spray) just to revive my curls or moisturize them.

  • Gurlll! That was so helpful to this sister. What is your total time, how long does all that product application take you after the wash? Twisting out is an all night event for me and my man wants my hair like that all the time but I keep telling him he just don't understand, LOL! This looks much easier.

  • i use the vo5 as a leave in cuz its so light and then sumtimes la looks 10+sport as a gel over it if my hair is obnoxious lol. but not often anymore..but neways i scrunch it with a tshirt after the vo5 and then add gel..you should try it as a leave in one day and scrunch if u dont already do tht...im a new viewer so idk lol..but it doesnt work for my sister but it does for me so yea lol.

  • What do u do to keep your roots at the top to lay down. For some reason mine gets a bit puffy.

  • I apply and smooth in extra gel, or whatever curl-defining product I'm using that day.

  • @ShidaNatural i wish you were my mom !lol your so cool

  • Aww ur so cute! :-)

  • that looks exactly like my hair! my braids even look like yours.

  • Shida, how long have you been natural??

  • @blkimble I stopped getting relaxers in 2005. Transitioned for a year, then did the BC in 2006. My hair would have been much longer, but I've been slowly snipping off my blonde ends. The blonde is almost completely gone now, then I'll really be able to track my growth once the old color is gone. I really damaged my hair from years of overprocessing it with color (honey blonde).

  • I have been using your process of defining curls with a wash n go using the conditioner and gel with cool rinse. I absolutely love how it defines my 3a/3b curls and it doesn't take much time to do it in the shower. I get more length and I can really see my "s" shape pattern in each curl. Thanks so much for your vids- keep them coming!

  • @jricia That's awesome! I'm glad you're getting satisfied results using my technique. To me, elongation is important. since CurlyKinkyCoily hair loves to shrink!

  • ur hair grows like mine, kinda tappered like layers and stuff. :)

  • thanks for the cool water tip i always get the white residue and that's why i don't do this method that much

  • @sunflowernbklyn No prob, and I will be soon posting a video of how I've been using my blowdryer & diffuser to dry my hair to about 70% and how I stretch my curls. Look out for that in a few days.

  • Nice video....have you ever tried the "mixed chicks leave in conditioner"? it may really compliment your curls and hair texture.

  • @che5music Mixed Chicks has ingredients in it that I don't really like to put in my hair. I'm pretty much happy with the EcoStyler gel to define & elongate my curls. My hair dry soft and not dry and crunchy, that's cuz I put on my "ShidaNatural's" leave-in moisturizing spray right b4 applying the gel.

  • love your look!!! You make is look so easy, someday I'll get it. LOL, nice vid

  • great video. once again I thank you for sharing...

  • wow... I use conditioner under my eco clear but it dries my hair out sooo bad... im looking for a natural gel now

  • so pretty.. love your vids!!!

  • love the video, u are very helpful..... I am new to the natraul hair, and I have learned so much from ur videos..... Thanks :)

  • Great video! I just started using the Ecostyler gel and not quite sure I like it as much as Fantasia IC. My hair is currently 5" long, hair type 4A but I have a patch of 3B hair in the front.

I also go out with my hair wet and laugh when people tell me I'm going to get sick. No matter how much you tell people they can't catch a cold (or flu) from being cold, they refuse to believe it! Then again, they also tend to believe they have to take antibiotics to get rid of colds.

    Thanks for the video!

  • @simplyentycing I know... Some people believe anything that's told to them!

  • hey shida, just want to let you know that your latest wash n go video was inspiring!I did a wash n go and it was one of my best ever. BTW, for the person who wanted help with crunch-- I kept having an issue w/crunch w/eco green, (even when i used olive oil on wet hair) and i actually used a curl activator gel underneath the eco gel (yea, old school) but w/great results bc the glycerin in the curl act. gel counterarcts the crunch i get from eco! thx again for your vids, shida! i owe a lot 2 u!

  • @bashmentgyrl00 I'm so glad you're enjoying my videos. It's because of people like you why I continue to make them, even though I have to sacrifice to make time for the videos. Thank You!

  • i want my hair like that =)

  • Love this video...Eco Styler Olive Oil is my fave fave favorite gel as well.

  • Great technique I will have to try it out, but will use some heat to dry my hair cannot afford to get sick now that it is getting colder.

  • wow your hair has grown a lot since i 1st started watching!

    thx for always sharing :o)

  • Love the video and very funny? Can't wait to see what this looks like on my 4a/b hair.

  • Beautiful results! I think I will give it a try. Oh, by the way I use Trader Joe's Nourish Spa Shampoo & Conditioner and I love it! Can't beat the price:)

  • Wow very nice curl definition!!

  • I see it! I see it!

  • @Giggra lol

  • Thank you for taking the time to give your great advice and knowledge on natural hair care.

  • @glarkin10 It's my pleasure. Thanks for being a supporter.

  • Thumbs up...funny

  • Loveeeee the two day hair! Beautiful!

  • What do you do when it is cold outside? Do you still wear your hair wet when you go out or do you defuse it with a blowdryer?

  • @leigh4health I don't like putting heat to my hair so I let it airdry all the way. I don't mind going outside with wet hair, even when it's cold outside.

  • 2 thumbs up!

  • i love the eco olive oil gel, it's always on my list. your hair looks beautiful, it's getting longer and your seems to always look like it's in a front layer cut, do you cut it? amazing, it's still beautiful. i don't know what it is about that eco but i have less shrinkage also when i use it.

  • @NATURAL0708 I seem to get less shrinkage too when I use the Eco gel.

  • Your hair is getting very long. I really like this method of styling.

  • Your results are beautiful as always... I have been using the ECO Styler Gel with Olive Oil and my hair is really crunchy afterwards. It does that every time I use the gel. I know there are many ladies that say it leaves their hair smooth and soft and I can't seem to manage that. Any suggestions would be nice? Thanks.

  • @Aspicedoll Do you put the olive on before or after you apply the gel, cuz you get the best crunch-free results when you apply the oil on wet hair before applying the gel.

  • You're so funny! Will try this when i get some length.

  • great vid

  • Have a blessed Thanksgiving. I can't find that ECO Olive Oil (large) anywhere. I did manage to find a small on Sunday.

  • awesome as always shida!!<3

  • did you do this same wash and go procedure when you had a TWA? Thanks.

  • I transitioned for a year before doing the BC so I didn't have much of a TWA... and anyway, during my early years of being natural (about 5 years ago), I didn't know what the heck I was doing! My hair stayed dry. This last year has been the best year I've had while being natural. My hair is never dry now!... cuz now I know what the heck I'm doing! lol

  • Literally natural! too funny! lol

  • lol... I had to laugh with u.

  • Great Video!! You go girl. I too love the gel with Olive Oil...

    Keep on doing Big Things!!

  • 5 stars! u r so silly but i luv it n the bounce ur hair had the 2nd day. I luv how instructional ur vids are. =)

  • I appreciate the love... Thanks

  • omg you have inspired me yet again i have been slipin when it comes to my hair and now i remember what i felt lik and why i went natural love the video and your hair is growing so beautifully

  • Aww, really! I feel so special. You stay in the natural hair race, ok? I'm here for ya!

  • ok and thank you and happy holidays

  • Hi Shida, i have a 10 and a 14 year old both with natural hair. The 10 year old has 4b type hair and it's very dry. What should i use to soften her hair. And the 14 yrs-old has 4a type of hair and flat ironed her hair without using any heat protection... now some part of het hair straight and some are curly. What would you advise me to use to fix the heat damage.

  • Hey Girl.. First let me say that once the hair is damaged by heat and the hair becomes straight, that is permament damage and the only fix is to cut of the damaged (straight) ends. As far as your 10 yr old with 4b type hair, smoothing in some of the Ashea Shea Butter that you won from the radio show will really moisten & soften her hair. Use it for night-time as well as day-time moisturizing. It can also be used as a heat protectant when blow-drying, but u really should minimize amount of heat.

  • For the 10 yr I advise shea butter with coconut oil. For the 14yr, again I advise, to cut off the damage hair. If the all hair did not revert back to the natural curl pattern in the shower, that means the hair is damage and their is nothing you can do about it except....cut if off.

  • Your hair is really growing missy. It looks nice and healthy as it growing . Good work

  • Hey this question is for anyone who can help! I currectly use Giovanni direct leave in conditoner and I am scared to put gell in my hair becuase I hate crunchy hair, any suggestions on what would mix well with my Giovanni?

  • Smoothing in some EVOO right after applying the leave-in, and right before applying the gel always does the trick for me in preventing dry, crunchy hair.

  • water it down in a spray bottle

  • I live in Texas... We have very mild weather. I just got the Kinky Twist Style

and I dont think I like it.. I should have just

gotten Micro Braids. My BC was June 21. The TWA was driving me crzy.

  • Thanks sooo much Shida. I never really used gel much because I thought my hair didnt like it, its really because I wasnt using it correctly!!!!!

    and yes, u are silly!

  • Well, if you try my method, let me know how your hair turns out. I'm interested to know.

  • yay shida! thanks for the vid. one question--bc I am also here in the northeast. did you go outside after you defined your curls? how do you feel about going out w/wet hair?bc that is my biggest issue. perhaps a vid on defining and diffusing is in the stars? :)

  • I don't mind going outside with wet hair. It really doesn't bother me. I don't like putting heat in my hair, personally, but if you don't like going outside with wet hair, I would recommend diffusing it with warm setting but only dry your hair about 80% of the way and let the rest airdry.

  • Great video... do some a bit more often.

  • Thank you dayzbehard... I'm trying my best to make newer videos, but my schedule has gotten real busy lately. Follow me on FaceBook and you'll see what's going on with me and my hair businesses. Just search for ShidaNatural.

  • Beautiful !!

  • Thank u passion.

  • Your hair looks great and it has grown so much.

  • Yes, it is growing... I'm tryna reach BSL.

  • What state do you leave in ? Do you use a protective style in the fall/winter ?

  • I live in New Jersey, and I periodically do protective styles. Sometimes I do the 2-strand twists, leave them in for a week, then take them out and wear a twistout for a few days. I also do french braids, puffs, & ponytails. The weather in NJ is pretty mild right now. I don't mind going outside with wet hair when it's cold, and I never catch a cold. To me, that's a myth. What state are you in?

  • i've missed seeing your videos....5-***** another great video!

  • Thanks chub

  • Your hair has gotten so long! You have to get it straigtened just once! Pleaseeeeeeeeeeee lol

  • uummm, i'm gonna have to pass on that request... at least until I've reached my hair length goals which is BSL. Last time I straightened my hair, I got a lot of breakage from the heat, so now I'm scared to straighten cuz I've worked so hard to reach (and retain) the lenght I've been achieving. I hope you understand, my lovie.

  • 5 stars************

  • Hey shag... Thanks for the rating. btw, I became a sub of ur channel. Great work with your loc clients!

  • Shidanatural I have missed you!!!! Thank you for updating!!!

  • Hi Candey1721... I think about my YouTube Natural Hair Lovies all the time. I just don't have the time like I used to for YouTube videos, but I'll keep them coming as fast as my schedule permits. Thanks for your support!
