I think this scene is not just about a beautiful melody or a guy playing the piano. His friend standing up realised that at 2:23 how Tim was actually expressing his new-found feelings through the piano about this beautiful girl he just saw. The piano became an extension of Tim's body. When the musician and the instrument become one, that's when you start playing first-class music.. there my two cents.
