I think XIII is fucking awesome. The FF team is not going to make the exact same game over, and over, and over again.. They put more time and effort into their games than any other company, and it shows!

I actually loved FF13 in my opinion. I thought the characters were cool, the story was very unique. The only problems I actually had were the bosses. o_e

i like 13 even though there were flaws to it and a disappointment.. but hard to judge this until i see more depth with the game development and gameplay..
Kinda hard to judge it from this but it looks pretty at least. I love XIII I don't care what anyone says, but it WOULD be nice if there was some actual wandering time in this game. FFX-2 had way more open wandering opportunities and missions than FFX had.
So XIII-2 is just a sign of desperation and laziness for Square-Enix to make their annual quota by using the same battle system, graphics skins and voice actors and so on...that way they don't have to think much in development and actually deliver a game that everyone WANTS. The game will be as bad or not worse than XIII already is.
Square-Enix is finished. XIII and XIV sealed it's fate...this will be no better.

Hate on it all you want, but the game had a good story, an antagonist that made sense and characters I gave a shit about. The License System was complex and required good set up and there was exploration...TONS of it.
The kiddies didn't like it because of the large vocabulary, political story and vastly different characters, mainly Vaan who is an excellent main character.

Anyone who has watched a fair amount of japanese animations would know that the characters aren't always what they appear. Hell, take Cloud and Tifa for instance. Now that we have fully realized versions of them, they appear more Asian due to a shift towards a more realistic art direction. Even Warrior of Light in Dissidia is portrayed to be Asian.

@superherox7 No, because XI was released before World of Warcraft and was generally a well structured MMO( which makes me wonder how the fuck Square-Enix could take a step back from THAT). XII was also an extremely good game and the fact you think it sucks implies several things:
1) You don't understand politics
2) You like stupid, unrealistic anime characters
3) The vocabulary was too large for you
4) The License and Gambit system was too hard to figure out

@ValidusMos (1) Bullshit. The only reason it's been portrayed like that is because Hinorobu Sakagchi left Square and isn't in control of the series any longer. He's laughing his ass off to the bank because of how shitty the series has become since he left the director's chair. The characters never were one singular nationality. Sakaguchi always wanted to make stories that every culture of the world could appreciate by not having those bounds.
Tetsuya Nomura ruined that.

@banglefaar Versus looks stupid? Care to explain?? At least it looks cooler and more promising than FF13 and FF14 Online. Both of those games have failed, especially 14. Versus is Square Enix's last chance at redemption. The concept for Versus is at least promising and cool, maybe it's just the typical trailer awesomeness but at least the majority seemed to be have high hopes and anticipation for that game. If u think Versus is stupid, then i guess u should completely give up on Square Enix.

The series is already dead and the president of Square already said that the chances of XV depends on the success of XIII and XIV. They didn't do good and I hope they fucking go bankrupt.
