  • 0:56 SO MUCH GYPSY AWESOMENESS IT'S ORGASMIC!

  • To add my voice to this conversation: Gogol Bordello and System of a down are both inspired by each other, they have a very similar way of writing music. Someone said "Metal for posers" which is the most inaccurate descption I've ever heard, I wouldn't even call System Metal. Both them and Gogol Bordello mix different music styles like not many other artists out there, they're both incredibly intelligent bands. And without System of a down, Bordello wouldn't sound like they do today.

  • @FilipHolm

Much more defined and more of the folk that SYSTEM. I do not see the reason for comparing them both... even different influences from folk..

  • :-)

  • SOAD IS AWESOME GOGOL BORDELLO ARE AWESOME wait no they cant be awesome THEY ARE FUCKING AWESOME LMAO

  • some parts are from georgian dance music!!! very nice!

  • wow

  • Does Taranta mean something? This question is killing me.

  • @erikabuiraypunto Just look for "tarantella" on wikipedia.

  • @erikabuiraypunto Taranta is a folk dance which takes its name from tarantism, an alleged envenomation popularly believed to result from the bite of a kind of wolf spider called a "tarantula".

  • this is to the tune of Lezginka :D !!!! I love Caucasian dances! and at 1:02 i think i heard him say "vai mama jan!" which means "oh dear mom!" in Armenian, kind of like saying "oh hell ya" lol

  • Man!! All I wanna do is dance to this song all day!!! I wish I could get my hands on his CDs though :D

  • @TheCarrollFarris - Can't find them? Where do you live?

  • @SoldierSide77 Pennsylvania. My mom doesnt like him, so she won't let me get a cd if i could find them anyway.

  • @SoldierSide77 they are gypsies, you wont find them hahaha

  • @TheCarrollFarris It's all on iTunes by the way.

  • @TheCarrollFarris ebay.com

  • Learned the Tarantella dance when I was 12/13, got into punk at 15, got really into ska not long after... After a few years rediscovered folky type stuff, few years later discovered Bartok and the bridge between classical, folk and modern music. Never did I think one band could combine all of these things, and have one of the best sets of fans I've come across.

Thank you Gogol Bordello for confounding my expectations.

  • look! its a ucranian pirate! (saywut?)

  • "Like dance around the fire..."

  • @Sk00rpion - copy SOAD? What are you talking about?

  • @SoldierSide77 i think he means this is copying system of a down, which is obviously not true.

  • @SoldierSide77

    SOAD is a shitty SOAD

  • @Sk00rpion lol nub

  • @Sk00rpion Ypu have obviously dinosaur-ear disorder

  • @Sk00rpion SOAD playing music of south Italy whith rock and patchanka? Soad playing Metal for posers

  • @Bonaga666 - Don't be a dick, I happen to like SOAD.

  • @Sk00rpion - Gogol Bordello has in no way shape or form ever copied System of a Down. You're an idiot. Or were you commenting on my name?

  • @SoldierSide77 i think the confusion lies where theyve all came from, soad is armenian, which is pretty close to russia, so there music is similar but ive been a fan of soad for a long time and gogol by far is much more talented, soad just uses the influences from their upbringing in their music, if anything gogol would have been their influence if theyd came out earlier

  • this music is Georgian folk " mxedruli " :)))

    Fun venue!

  • Jepp! Thats Bregovics Kalashnikov , Boom, Boom,Boom... Haha. I think your right iwanasexu, sound a bit north Italian.

  • @SoldierSide77 : Cekka is asking about "Kalashnikov" by Goran Bregovic. That's the tune that goes "Boom boom boom boom, hey ya, Hey Ya!"

  • @SoldierSide77 : Cekka is asking about "Kalashnikov" by Goran Bregovic. That's the tune that goes "Boom boom boom boom, hey ya, Hey Ya!"

  • @SoldierSide77 he should try goran bregovic's - kalashnikov. Long live the Balkan Spirit!

  • Accordion!!!! Clear win.!

  • weee viva gogol bordello!!! finalmente qualcuno che ne capiscie qualcosa di musica folkloristica italiana...awsome interpretation of a tarantella/salterello =) I love these guys!!!

  • I Dig This Sound

    It`s Like

A Happy Version of The Pogues...

  • @MrSpookiness Yeah, I can see the comparison. But the Pogues were Irish punk/folk and this is Roma (gypsy) eastern euro/punk/really good music/punk. By the way, Gogol have played with Flogging Molly which kinda makes sense.

  • hahaha, this guys are just hilarous, from the way they look to each and every one of the song's riffs.

  • just discovered these guys, awesome shit!

  • quanta allegriaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa :D

  • @SoldierSide77

perhaps he was refering to Kalasnjikov by Goran Bregovic.

    but I don't know!!^^
