seatbelts do help alot depending on the type of collision. If you are rearended or T-boned, yea it will probably save your life, but in situatons such as car fires a seatbwlt could possibly keep you from getting out of the car

well seatbelts come off easy, you click it and it falls off. i rather be slowed down 10 seconds trying to get my belt off then to fly out through the front window onto whatever or under whatever is up there. Yes it does depend a lot on the type of collision, that's obvious however the benefits outweigh the "losses" hands down. The main problem is you cannot really pick the type of collision you'd be in so wearing the seat belt on is your best option.

Not always. My grandparents were rearended by a LOADED 18 wheel tractor trailer carrying crushed stone. 80,000lbs. He was going 60mph. They were at a red light in a camry. It all depends how U are hit. They were hit squarely so they went perfectly straight for 330ft, attached. The front wheel of the truck was 20 inches from my grandfathers head when it stopped sliding. Seatbelts kept them from flying up and back out of their seats. they walked away, at age 75 that was amazing luck.
