Wow Nick - I'm not sure I would have been able to distill it that well in 8 minutes.

Usually I explain it like this:

My parents had me coerced into an abusive treatment facility because they thought I was primarily using drugs. It turned out, I only had "gender identity disorder" - so they deprived me of sleep, sexually assaulted me, starved me, beat me, and humiliated me. - to "cure" me.

I was called a "sexual compulsive" and wasn't allowed to use a blanket because I "might masturbate."
