    (lepianoarcenciel)

  • wonderful! :)

  • genialne wykonanie

  • Majestically interpreted, Maestro! Congratulations & thank you ~Cate

  • he plays every phrase with such chrisp sound, its rare to find this...

  • Who's the one, who doesn't like that? There is only one thing you needn't agree - some noises from computer, but Blechacz is awesome, Barcarolle is awesome, Chopin was the very best one...

  • 2:50 to 4:29 is the BEST part of the song!!

  • I didn't know that my favourite pianist played my favourist piece of my favourite composer. Truly great. I have a lot of fun playing this, so i'm sure he had it too!

  • I'm ashamed to say that I've never heard of this pianist before, but after hearing him play this, I'll never forget him.

  • Fantastico.....diana

  • I like 6:55 to 7:28

  • THE BEST CHOPIN'S BARCAROLLE EVER.... Just perfect!

  • @Vinc8585 And the only one he wrote ;)

  • hence one of the major characteristics of Chopin's Barcarolle is the time signature -- 12/8 instead of the typical 6/8 ?

  • a very fine performance - right up there with Zimerman. Some outstanding musicianship and pianism.

  • GREAT FOR STUDYING

  • i like this better than zimmerman's

  • After as brilliant performance as that should be 5 minutes standing ovation...B R A V O

  • One of my favorite Chopin pieces ,

and Rafal is playing this wonderful , sensitive and also brilliant !!)

  • I recently saw him perform in New York at the Metropolitan Museum. His Chopin was outstanding. You'd sit there and think to yourself, this is just right. Best of luck to him!

  • @edwardakane I'm so jealous you got to hear him live.Must have been amazing!

  • wszyscy mówią , że Polonez, a ja uważam ,że to jest najwspanialsze wykonanie konkursowe z 2005 . Pokazuje jak cudownie Rafał interpretuje utwory Chopina .

  • Just 4 words: beautiful playing, beautiful pianist!

  • enough about the past n future...lets stay present

  • the best interpretation of this piece.

  • Thank you so much for posting this!!

  • Too fast.

  • @WayneYLeigh, it all depends on what version you heard the first time. If you heard the slow one first, you'll think the fast ones are too fast and so on. If you heard the fast one like I did, I'll think the slow ones are too slow. This is just right.

  • He IS the music

  • I believe Rafal Blechacz plays so close to Chopin..the light touches..almost fragile touch of Chopin's playing...wonderful~

  • Beautiful.

I am glad to find someone who's pinky is not folding in when it's in the air. I have egonized about my fingers...I guess i should not worry about them.

  • He could be the son of Horowitz, or his Protege. Both are brilliant pianists. The ear, the mind, the heart and soul tell me so.Chopin up there with The Best.

  • o lala

  • I think Dang Thai Son played the first theme more songfully but overall, Blechaz's is the best performance we have on youtube because of the contrast it manages to express, especially at the climax just before the ending. I love his facial expression too :)

  • Yeah, I love his facial expressions too. He looks like he's about to blow his load all over the keyboard. i don't know what facial expressions have to do with playing an instrument but I guess some people find that erotic.Whatever tickles your pickle.

  • How bad i miss his concert in Barcelona... i am looking forward to see him!

  • Every time I listen to this song, I hear that cell phone ringtone. Every. Time.

  • Blechacz is a fine artist, and plays just what chopin would want him to.... just right. If only Chopin were alive..........

  • great dynamics. Now I prefer Blechacz :P

  • Dynamics and phrasing is what is missing in many of the current generation of classical music performers. Rafal's playing reminds me slightly of Horowitz and Murray.

  • I think fidelity to the composer's marks is what is generally most lacking in today's performers. though I do believe that your argument is valid, as this generation strives for 'loud and fast' (-.-)

  • Fine performance. Could be a bit more intimate sounding throughout, but great control of the mood and sound here. One thing I don't agree with in ANY performance, which almost everyone seems to do is this; the solo LH 8th notes just before the theme enters are never played straight. This tends to ruin the magic of the RH theme when it does enter. It has to just float in over the LH. Just my opinion and taste.

  • I agree. What a quality comment.

  • Whose comment are you agreeing with?

  • yours~

  • Thanks! I enjoy commenting and reading other's intelligent opinions and views.

  • He's a great performer. Thank god he's coming to Holland, and I'm going to see his concert :)

  • impeccable...

  • best performance ~~

  • This fellow is a genius

  • I wish the quality was better but this is still the most beautiful piece I heard on YouTube
