He's probably burning pallets or scrap lumber, whatever is free. Tell him to burn seasoned logs, that should reduce or eliminate the smoke problem. It did on my OWB.

Might as well be burning tires. Jeez. I mean, I'm really interested in OWB's; but I'd make damn sure I didn't piss of my neighbors.
