my new engine isnt gonna have the m50 manifold on it sadly, at least for now.
before my old engine exploded, I had an m3 cam in it (schrick) and an m50 intake, bought it like that, sadly they didnt do it right and it killed something in the engine. I was able to beat my friend's stock m3 up a hill with that combo, so I was pulling more than 240 hp at least.
Yeah I presume the whp figure doesn't include the inertia/losses of the dyno, as the car was run on a well respected maha dyno and gave 195bhp without m50. I now have an m3 Evo and the 328 definately had more than 160bhp from an arse dyno point of view! So in other words, I do trust the dyno figures!
Find this a little strange, 215.9 bhp at fly and 161.5 whp? Had mine tested and it read 200 whp, but they quoted only 219 bhp at fly. Seems the bhp at fly is massively overstated here? Those drive train loss figures would mean mine is 267 bhp at fly... I think not...
I love my E36 328i. Only mod is a Signature Motoring performance intake kit. They run around $170 and add up to 9HP in the E46 323/325/328 and up to 9.4HP in the 328i. That's about $17/per extra HP... A good value for the extra oomph. General HP increases are shown:
I struggled to read the last dyno graph, what was max torque and what rpm? I have a 328i sport manual also, and am interested in the m50 manifold + tune, but reluctant to go through unless I see decent results. Thanks

awsome horspower gain but did you loose some torque?

Hi, I have a 97 328is (2 door). What is the difference between the manifold my car has and the M50manifold? What's the M50 manifold come from?
merlinmago07 10 months ago
@merlinmago07 from the 325 m50b25 engine code increases air flow by considerable margin
drava12 10 months ago
@merlinmago07 the m50 manifold is from the e36 325i engine. simple swap for very rewarding gains :)
