"A soldier of the law"? Really? When are Police Officers going to realize they are nothing more than civilians. They have nothing to do with the military. They are not paramilitary, for their job is in no way similar. They need to stop using military drill and cereony.

They are out of control and do not have sufficient checks and balances in place to corral the bad ones. This is the single most important reason you have to show up for jury duty, if a CHP officer is going to testify you can legally determine that you feel the officer lied on the stand and thus you doubt the charges in question. Result : Not Guilty

Is it true upon completion of the CHP Academy. That the newly trained officers/troopers receive a take home patrol car. I just heard that other day and wanted to know if that was true. Thanks in Advance to the responding Answers.
