This is a real problem. I don't think americans realize the danger of these people. Even after 9/11. I believe america is not perfect but it's not evil either. Something has to be done with these people. I think it should start with the american policy and then their own people. Killing yourself is forbidden in islamic law and people from that part of the world should take a stand against these acts of violence.
And there are millions of muslims who do take a stand against these acts of violence (most of which are perpetrated upon muslims). But you will never hear that on American TV because you are supposed to hate Islam and blame them for terrorism.

Terrorism is not limited to suicide bombings. It is the use of violence or the threat of violence to affect the actions of a populace. Most often the goal is to make people afraid, so that stricter security measures will be put in place and people will trade freedom for security. So no. I don't see christians or jews killing 'themselves' for their cause. But I have certainly seen christians and jews killing muslims.

I don't think it helps when insurgents hide behind the civilians and blow up school buses of children. Suicide bombings in crowded marketplaces, school bus bombings, human shields, aren't typically in the American soldier's repertoire. As for the whole Israel/Palestinian situation, its a two-faced coin. Palestinians have also committed atrocities. I'm not unsympathetic to the palestinians, but when Israel is fighting to survive, (7 day war, etc...) They are gonna be a bit excessive.

It's a bit of an exaggeration to say that Bin Laden "bankrupted the Soviets" all by himself. He was a minor player during the Soviet war in Afghanistan, although he did benefit from Soviet withdrawal. The Soviets were defeated through the joint efforts of the United States, the Saudis, and the Pakistanis.
Bin Laden has done some shitty things, but let's not make him out to be more powerful than he actually is.

It is misrepresentative for several reasons. These are just a few.
1. It describes all islamic fundamentalists as a collective. They clearly disagree on a lot of things as three dvisions of them have been tring to kill one another over disagreements.
2. While a few of our enemies are islamic fundamentalists who believe that their religion tells them to kill us, many of our enemies are our enemies because of our failed foreign policy which makes more enemies then it gets rid of. Cont.

Every interview with this guy, I agree with him 100%. Something has to be done with these people. I think it should start with the american policy and then their own people. You just don't see the muslims who condemn terrorism, because you are supposed to think muslims are terrorists. Obviously in your case the propaganda has worked flawlessly. Muslims were the first real victims of terrorism (unless you count native Americans).

Terrorism is not limited to suicide bombings. It is the use of violence or the threat of violence to affect the actions of a populace. Most often the goal is to make people afraid, so that stricter security measures will be put in place and people will trade freedom for security. So no. I don't see christians or jews killing 'themselves' for their cause. But I have certainly seen christians and jews killing muslims.

@AmericasFan, for every insurgent killed, 50 civilians die, therefore the U.S. has killed far more civilians than terrorists ever will. How do you justify that? Collateral damage? Would that term put grieving families at ease? Plus, if you want to see how Muslims were the first victims of terrorism, just study up on the attrocities committed by Israel against Palestinians for the past 60 plus years(schoolhouse massacre, demolition of houses/schools, etc.).

I don't think it helps when insurgents hide behind the civilians and blow up school buses of children. Suicide bombings in crowded marketplaces, school bus bombings, human shields, aren't typically in the American soldier's repertoire. As for the whole Israel/Palestinian situation, its a two-faced coin. Palestinians have also committed atrocities. I'm not unsympathetic to the palestinians, but when Israel is fighting to survive, (7 day war, etc...) They are gonna be a bit excessive.

I have no problem with the existence of Israel, but I don't understand the unequivocal support America gives Israel. They are the biggest recipient of U.S. foreign aid, even throughout Israel's expansion of illegal settlements. There are reasons Al-Qaeda hates America, and to ignore those reasons/blame it on religion won't solve anything.

I honestly don't think you have the right idea. Of course there have been more local casualties than americans and israelis. thats because insurgents, no matter where they are, tend to bomb marketplaces, school busses, etc. There are numerous examples in which they attack their own people. America supports Israel becasue, lets face it, they've been getting the shaft since day one. We don't blame religion, however Al-queda seems to butcher islam and use it to get what they want. I wouldn't necessarily go that far, as to say they don't feel the same way towards Europe - there was the subway bombing in London in 2005. Though the ones responsible for that say it was because of Britain's involvement with the war in the middle east.
But yeah, Islamic terrorist attacks have only been happening in America though since the early 90s - after we established bases on the Saudi peninsula after the Gulf War.
Crazy - as recently as the 80s we were financing Bin Laden in Afghanistan.

exactly, attacks in spain and britain both happened shortly after they allied with the US.
just read binny boy's declaration of war/fatwa, it only talks about the US.
saudis also opted for the US to defend their border near kuwait when saddam invaded it, even though bin laden proposed them to do the same with the "army" he (and the US...)organized in afghanistan (vs russians). so my guess is that not only bin laden's hatred is political, but personal :)

I didn't feel mad when he said America is marching to the drum of Al Qeida - I was intrigued and prompted to listen further. His explanation was right on and he has the authority to make such statements - he has the inside scoop. One thing I disagree with him on is, our criminal government is not clueless and stupid, it's evil and doing this on purpose. It's a bit of an exaggeration to say that Bin Laden "bankrupted the Soviets" all by himself. He was a minor player during the Soviet war in Afghanistan, although he did benefit from Soviet withdrawal. The Soviets were defeated through the joint efforts of the United States, the Saudis, and the Pakistanis.
Bin Laden has done some shitty things, but let's not make him out to be more powerful than he actually is.

1. Muslim fundamentalists ARE a collective.
2. More than a few Muslims believe Islam commands them to wage war on 'unbelievers', even today.
3. Muslim fundamentalists ARE intolerant of other religions.
4. Poor people eat pork, too.
5. It implies that Western involvement in the ME is NOT the sole reason for their attitude.

Classifying all muslim fundamentalists in a group and pretending that they all hate us and want to attack us is like saying all christians fundamentalists hate gays. It just isnt true. You're using stereotypes. Of course there isnt a sole reason for us being attacked, but there are many variables, the largest of which is our foreign policy. They are still individuals who, each of whom fight for different reasons. This is why you should not represent them as a single collective.

Their hating of our values is not why they attack. They state it VERY clearly that it's because of our support for these tyrannical states. That this has been well documented and repeated by the CIA, the 9/11 commission report, the former Bin Laden unit lead (Scheuer), and Bin Laden himself and the majority of this country to still believe it's "cuz we're free" is absolutely beyond me. If you cause the US to withdraw their support from these countries, they become easier to topple. It is misrepresentative for several reasons. These are just a few.
1. It describes all islamic fundamentalists as a collective. They clearly disagree on a lot of things as three dvisions of them have been tring to kill one another over disagreements.
2. While a few of our enemies are islamic fundamentalists who believe that their religion tells them to kill us, many of our enemies are our enemies because of our failed foreign policy which makes more enemies then it gets rid of. Cont.
