  • What can i say, this is all about my youth, but also brought me more awareness of my suroundings in the wider world. Fun, culture serious, edge. Maestro. Gone never forgotten! Genius! Brilliant!!

  • he would have been the greatest ever had he live longer.,.gone but not forgotten by those who knew him,.,

  • Maestro was on path to be the greatest calypso-soca artist ever. He was just brilliant.

  • @wilclaw01 Couldn't agree more!!

  • Classic!! RIP Urilton Pierre

  • Classic, classic!!! RIP Urilton Pierre, you made those Orange Grove parties kick

  • I too grew up on St Thomas and remember my dad playing this album in the late 70's. What a great tune. I still feel the sadness I felt after hearing of Maestro's passing. I always remember his music having a different effect on me than other soca from that era. He was so far ahead of his contemporaries. Gone too soon.

  • my dad is from dominica, i grew up in st.thomas virgin islands and this is all my parents played in the late 70's and early 80's. this record brings back memories for sure, especially after he had his shot of rum with friends! lol.

  • Well, I have seen people in a bar enjoying this song after having imbibed.....with bottle and spoon and ting......there was something really sweet about it....so I guess maybe this is an "after a shot of rum with friends" type of song!!!

  • what a loss!!!!! if only we could have been blessed to have him here today but as it is said 'When the Master calls you have to answer' R.I.P. Maestro!!!!

  • Wow...interesting, to say the least.....Peter Tosh - the Jamaican Merchant....I like this..

  • I kinda agree with MilitantBongo. I usually say that Peter Tosh is the Jamaican Merchant

  • Hey Militant! It's interesting to hear views on Maestro from someone who is not a Trinidadian...Very insightful indeed...Much appreciated....

  • I am not aTrinidadian but inna the 70s I used to listened to Maestro just like I used play a lot of Marley I called Maestro the Bob Marley of Trinidad

  • this is my favorite of all his songs so groovy and easy rip cecil
