The first generation BMW Minis are built in Oxford, England. The engine is a Rover/Chrysler lump built in Curitibi, Brazil. Most components were sourced IN ENGLAND. Kiss my S if you don't like it, and if you're stupid enough to think that any classic Mini exists in its original condition after 52 years. I've owned Minis ranging in year from 1967 to 2003, Travelers and saloons. The BMW Mini created a whole lot of interest worldwide in the Mini and other English marques, a good thing!
@MightyVanguardI agree with what you say about the new BMW's, but one thing that u cant deny is that they go against what sir alec issigonis set about doing in 1957, many of the minis concepts where lost. The biggest one is the word 'mini', u look at it and think - "thats not mini, its just a big fat hatchback" and many people make the mistake of refering the bMW as the succeser to the old mini - both cars are completely different and i think the people should think of the BMW as seperate.
Ironic thing is that this car was designed to replace the german bubblecars and now the germans have redesigned their own version of 'our' mini- they have come full circle!
With interest what was the original music used on this video, its seems too have changed?
i know all u guys r hating on the new German MINI. but u gotta give them their props though.... they did a pretty good job of keeping the history alive. but i do agree.. nothing beats the original thats for sure
The Mini is more of a piece of culture than anything. This is what makes Britain stand out in the world. But for margaret thatcher we would probably still have a great manufacturing industry.
ANY true Mini lover loves ALL Minis, including the current BMW version. I own a new one and now want an original British one as well. Can't have too many.
God those minis from the 60's looked absolutely AWESOME! They're my favourite car! One day I'll own one. But before that... I'll get myself a Vespa from the 60s and mod it up with plenty of mirrors and needless lights. 8)
If this is supposed to be a video about the original Mini of 1959-2000, why was it spoiled by the inclusion of the fat and ugly BMW fake hatchback at the end?

El Mini era y es un coche bonito, elegante y fashion. Ahora hacen coches sin personalidad. El Mini es para siempre. Saludos desde Barcelona (España).

The original was a great car but BMW did good for bringing it into the new century. I have an 09 MCS and have great respect for its roots.

Great to see some of the lesser known MINI models like the Wolseley Hornet and the Riley Elf shown.
Those "rebadged" Minis are now very highly sort after by collectors!
Great well made video!
