princeryan, the Singapore bet is seen as weaker than the Vietnamese bet. Voting for the weaker opponent is not a stupid voting. It's called a strategy which unfortunately backfired. Apparently the Hady is lagging in the online survey and hence is not seen as a threat.
Why don't you check "Asian Idol" in Wikipedia. They also discussed that voting strategy. It was also discussed in Wikipedia that the SMS votes from the Philippines were delayed by as much as 8 hours and hence were not counted in the voting tally. Jac might have won but we are just speculating here.
Those were just reports, it's not confirmed whether or not it's true.. Probably tt was a strategy for the philippines to make ppl think tt phi was supposed to be the winner.. Nice try but again, a silly strategy.. The deserving winner is obviously Mike or Jac and not Mau.. At least Ind and Mal didn't come up with excuses like 'delayed votes'

Malaysians voted for Jac for sure but I'm sure the Malaysians do not want to vote for Mike or Mau fearing that those 2 contestants would catch up with Jac. Did you guys ever listen to the Top 3 of World Idol? Kurt Nielsen almost had a voice of perfection that every single note is sang with no effort at all. I do agree that kind of mentality should have not existed in the first place.....but the West face the same difficulties too.....remember what happened to Chris Daughtry and Melinda Doolittle of American Idol???.....Both were touted as the best singer in their respective season......and yet both ended at 4th place and the 3rd place.....

princeryan, the Singapore bet is seen as weaker than the Vietnamese bet. Voting for the weaker opponent is not a stupid voting. It's called a strategy which unfortunately backfired. Apparently the Hady is lagging in the online survey and hence is not seen as a threat.

Why don't you check "Asian Idol" in Wikipedia. They also discussed that voting strategy. It was also discussed in Wikipedia that the SMS votes from the Philippines were delayed by as much as 8 hours and hence were not counted in the voting tally. Jac might have won but we are just speculating here.

princeryan, on the contrary, most of the voters wanted their idol to win. Hence they voted for their idol and the second vote went to the contestant that they thought to be the weakest of them all. Alas, a lot of voters are having the same voting strategy. So Hady went out as the darkest of the dark horses. Though it's not Hady's fault at all. But I'm just stating how Hady won.

Malaysians voted for Jac for sure but I'm sure the Malaysians do not want to vote for Mike or Mau fearing that those 2 contestants would catch up with Jac. Same thing happened to Indonesia and the Philippines. They voted for their respective idols but did not vote for the strong contenders. Probably the same thing happened in India and Vietnam as well.

OMG! You're obviously oblivious. You obviously didn't watch or hear what M'sian Idol judge said that Phil is a country of great, great singers even Indian Idol judge gave standing ovation for Mau. Phl had won so much more in singing competition this year alone even recognized by other Asian countries. The only Asian who has shined in WCOPA every year.

and.. filipino singing quality contributed to the world as one of the greatest singers. By winning track records no one comes close. Filipinos owned the theater acting/singing already. Banig owned Christina Aguilera in Star Search. Now, Charice, Arnel Pineda in lifelight. Claire delafuente will sing the unfinished song of late KAREN CARPENTER. Can u tell me if any asian can do what the Phil. talent did? name one!

And to have the mentality that voters voted Hady as their 2nd choice just because he is the least threatening is just so shallow.. Whoever started that thoughts first, I sincerely sympathize you.. And if that's really true, I feel sad for Asia, cos Asia is supposed to vote for the 2 BEST, but they chose to vote Hady thinking tt he's the weakest.. It just go to show tt Asia has a long way to go and havent achieve the maturity tt the West has.. =(

I do agree that kind of mentality should have not existed in the first place.....but the West face the same difficulties too.....remember what happened to Chris Daughtry and Melinda Doolittle of American Idol???.....Both were touted as the best singer in their respective season......and yet both ended at 4th place and the 3rd place.....
Why did that happen???.....Because people thought they dont have to vote as much as they did earlier on thinking both of them will be safe......

What u have put across is 'not voting enough/being complacent' But what I had put across was, if tt ridiculous '2nd choice theory' is true wch more than obviously it's not, means Asia voted enough but did not vote for the best 2, they purposely chose the weakest as 2nd choice..
