My SNES version of All Stars was the blue frame with Lost Levels instead of Mario World. I was pretty much the only kid in town who knew the real Mario Bros. 2 for a very long time, let alone owned a fully working version (I recall hearing a lot of issues with losing savegames, and such)

Is it possible to save the game at a certain point turn it off, turn it back on and still have all ur data saved on All Stars? cuz when i used to have it i played Super Mario World, beat it in one day, saved it , turn it off, and the next day all my data would be gone

@AlexJasso100 The same happened to my SNES games when I pulled the cartridge out rather than using the eject button, the save-data on the game got erased. And yes, All-Stars has a save feature for all games :d

@madnutcase84 Thats because it was originally called super mario bros 2 in japan. It was never released for the NES overseas. Instead they changed doki doki panic and changed the title to Super Mario Bros 2 which was not released in Japan until 1992 a year before all-stars.

the lost levels was actually the real super mario bros. 2 in japan. super mario 2 in america was a remake of some other japanese game but they changed the character models to mario style characters. but they actually really did redo SM2 on the gameboy advance and it was a really great game, felt like a super mario game

Even grabbing wasn't introduced to the game until SMB3, where Mario could now grab Koopa Shells and the like by holding down dash and going sideways towards their item of carrying.

if you look at the "lost levels" it says its copyright 1986 one year after the first game so thats another reason why it is the real super mario 2.

(Super Mario Collection Special Pack is the Japanese title, because SMC was the original name for the Japanese release.
