I had Tilly for 16 years and she was a Cairn cross. She looked a smaller version of Bentley and spoke the same language as him!! They walk beside us for such a short while but leave a legacy of love and good memories x

Aren't all dogs wonderful!! We did not teach our little guy to sit up on his haunches like that. It actually all started at the front door... you know how people will arrive and come in and stand around and talk to each other. Well, he wasn't getting enough attention from anyone, I guess, and he just started standing up like that and then tilting his head back and forth. Of course, then everyone standing there noticed and fawned all over him. He taught himself that one!! :o)

Oh, I am so sorry. So very sorry. I really ache for you. :o( I know I am going to miss my precious Bentley someday. His birthday is this coming Tuesday, he will be 11! He has serious illnesses (Cushings, liver disease and a mucocele on his gallbladder!) but we are very conscientious with his health and meds and you would never know it! He is like a puppy! Happy and cheerful and boundless energy. He only gets grumpy at night! I don't think our king sized bed is big enough for him!

before i got my cairin i had a mixed breed that should be a breed when he died i thought i would never find a dog to even come close to buster alot of people love there dogs but my mixed buster was truely special ,both in looks and intelligence .two yrs after he died i saw buddy at a breeder a cairin and while i will always miss buster buddy my cairin has givin me a second chance at be happy like no other breed could .how they get all that brain power in such a tiny head ill never know :}

Our Cairn, MacKinnon "Mac" is a talker and singer as well. Super breed these Cairns!

We recently added a puppy to our family. Mac is now 10 1/2 and was becoming a bit more sedentary than we liked. Overlapping dogs is working out beautifully so far. Mac has great habits that Bailey is now picking up. Well, except for his lousy version of fetch. ;-)

Oooh, he's so pretty! I have a 9-year-old blondish (but curiously also with some black in her) female called Cookie, and a 10-year-old reddish (now with a grey tail!) male called Muffin. Muffin sneezes when he wants attention... and now Cookie's started copying him. And he's started copying her trill of a growl for attention xD Lovely dogs <3

Great video! I got a Cairn Terrier about a year ago and we love him! He is a great companion to my older dog and he is very smart and loving. He also makes funny little noises just like your dog!

Cairns are theeey BEST! (mine became 15y old) Brave dog! I miss him. Treat them good although you sometimes cannot understand what they mean, it's always with protection of his family and thats you!

My Cairn was a filthy and matted mess, but I took her home from the shelter anyway. I got her groomed and now she's gorgeous. The shelter thought she was 7-9 years old so that makes her around 12 now. She looks just like yours and makes similar noises only quieter. She makes barking motions, but no sound comes out. She has a loud bark, but she won't do it 99.9% of the time. She has been the best dog. She's very playful like a puppy and extremely affectionate. I adore this breed.
