  • Wow ... Your guitar has a wonderful sound. Congratulations!!

  • i can't find the tab !! anyone can help me ? i need to learn this one :!!!! ><"

  • Excellent!!

  • His phrasing is very moving. I think of the way Bream could transform what others just play. It is other worldly. He is a real artist. I like Russell. Is it not strange that the guitar seems so much more personal than other instruments? I think it may have something to do with the tactile nature of the strings. Both hands shape tone and volume in ways far more direct than other instrument. The only other instrument more sensitive to human influence is the guitar, perhaps. What do you think?

  • @chopin65 Yes, I agree completely. I love this tune, and Matthew interprets it in such an expressive way. You can tell that he loves it too.

  • That was absolutely beautifully played, you have done this proud to be sure! :-)

    Bravo!!

  • Just beautiful Matthew, brought the hairs up on the back of my neck, brilliant.

  • wish there would be a tab for this ...or sheet...

  • @r2cristi There is music available, google it and you can purchase it.

  • very nice :)

  • Felicitaciones, yo tambien la toco. espectacular

Gran Interpretación !!! lejos la mejor que e visto

  • The only non-fiddle version of this song I like. Really nice job.

  • Listened to this for the first time tonight, and at 0.52 thought "great , at last a guitarist who doesn't slavishly imitate David Russell's horrendous downwards slur" , then at 1.26, thought, "ohmigod, he's just like all the rest".

Why, oh why, does every guitarist play that downwards slur, sticking in a gratuitous flattened 7th ? Just hit the VI straight and clean, the way Neil Gow wrote the tune, and the way every Scottish fiddler has played the tune for decades.

  • @murrmac maybe because everything isn't set in stone for all eternity...

  • Naturally, after hearing David Russell play this, it's difficult to find anyone who can live up to his standard, but you truly do this piece justice. Thank you for sharing!

Your guitar sounds gorgeous, by the way. What do you play?

  • How So Sweetly Sad and Beautiful Song !!!

  • Beautiful celtic tune and so Beautifullly played:-)

  • Was that drop tuning on the low E? Anyway, it was lovely. I put it in my favorites.

  • @chopin65 On the original score from David Russel 6th is tuned to C,,so very low and maybe 5th to G (i am not sure 100% on this...)

  • @Mrcorsari Yes, 5th string to G and 6th string to C.

  • The sound and the music are wonderfull.

  • Very sad but hopefull music
