Is Newcastle a cheap beer in England? It is pretty light for being an ale. Kind of seems a little macro brewish. Simple safe taste made for everyone. Seems kind of neutral so every type of beer drinker will somewhat enjoy it in other words. I do not think I have had too many beers from England. What is a really good one? Would I be able to find it in the US?
@cale99bentley99 your kinda wrong kinda right. The orginal recipe came from Newcastle but now its brewery moved and the company Heinekin now owns it. This is funny cuz I hate Heiniken, very skunky and unpleasant to drink. This beer has become my favorite beer, beating out Boston Lager from Sam Adams. Its is very smooth and you can tell it has dark beer hints with out being to progressive. The smell is very good. I love to sniff the bottle after I pour it in my tall glass. Very flavorful beer.
I love the last friend, looking out the window stoically... as if he is hurt by the fact that he has been eating a white dudes curry for the past few years.
I think the guy at the end who asks about the curry is the funniest part. I cracked up so bad at the unexpected random response I spit my tea at the monitor. I loved this!

Am I the only one who thinks the last line (the curry one, not the voice over) was delivered really, really badly? Look at the unnatural way the guy moves his hand as he says it. I might be in the minority here, but for some reason that really bugs me.
Also I didn't really find the ad very funny overall.
Sanjay: "Well, at least I know." *hangs up the phone, walks over to friends* "My parents just told me I was adopted. They said: 'You weren't born in Kapur.'"
Friend 1: "I'm sorry, Sanjay." *hugs*
Friend 2: "That's not going to work. Here." *hands him ale*
Friend 3: "Is that why your curry's so bad?"
Voiceover: "Newcastle Brown Ale. The lighter side of dark."
omg i cracked up the first time i saw this! i think this is the first indian-referenced commercial i've seen that wasn't hurtful or stereotypical. and being indian...i found this commercial hilarious! (:
There was another commercial like this but I can't for the live of me remember what it was for. It had a bunch of stereotypically garbed people from various parts of the world who expressed shock that they were *adopted* brothers.
It originated from Newcastle, hence the name fucktards

"The lighter side of dark"?
...questionable tagline. Great joke, though.
Jachra 1 year ago 4
@Jachra The real questionable part is the British beer/Indian family and perhaps the use of "Brown Ale." Still, very funny of course.

@Jachra the tagline is in reference to the the beer, it is dark, but very easy to drink, and not very filling.
